    Ironic I found this video. Actually my ABS was having faults. My mechanic first said need to buy a new one then has to be coded. Which would have cost a fortune. I told him give me the module and I'll send it to an electronics repair place I know who are really good. They fix everything from from gpus, laptops, cpu, etcetc. Sent it to them and they found it was as you rightly pointed out a power pin supply issue. They fix3it and my mechanic fitted and ran diagnostic test. No issues. Save a ton of money too! As you said anyone that has a abs module problem said do this!

    I have a 2003 vw mk4 Golf that is not getting any abs errors or trouble codes but I cannot bleed the driver rear calliper and have diagnosed to the abs module. Looks like it could be a sticky/stuck valve. Is disassembling the module a possible way to check or confirm it’s a stuck valve? Using VCDS abs output test to check operation.

    • @AutomotiveDiagnosis
      @AutomotiveDiagnosis  Год назад

      Hi there, and thanks for your comment.
      It is possible to dismantle and check the valve, but as it is sometimes a long procedure so from my point of view it is better to make sure nothing else is causing this. Just one question, when bleeding the braking system equipped with ABS, we normally bleed in two steps, first of all conventional bleeding (without scan tool), then bleeding with scan tool (if that scan tool covers the function), When you do the first step, do you get brake fluid on driver rear caliper or no?

    • @brentredberger9437
      @brentredberger9437 Год назад +1

      @@AutomotiveDiagnosis Nothing at the Caliper. I also disconnected the pipe at the ABS valve body for that rear caliper and there's no fluid coming out even with break pressure. All the other ports have fluid so that's why I suspect a stuck valve. I've also tried actuating the valves using a magnet but couldn't hear clicking or activation. Is alcohol and compressed air the best way to try and clean? This makes we wonder how many older vehicles are on the road with this type of issue as it doesn't through an ABS code.

      Hi my friend. It is actually located inside the ABS module and the reason for not addressing in the video is that this sensor is controlled directly by the ABS unit there is not much we can do about it. Most of the time when we have this code, we have to replace the entire ABS module.

      Hi there, normally there are 3 pins for the supply voltage. One for ABS motor, one for the valves and the last low amp one for the board. What is the model of your car? Wiring diagram helps for the pin location.

    Thanks for sharing the video. Referring to the 16:40 of the video about the ABS Motor Transistor. We
    connect the positive voltage to drain pin of the 2N06LH5. My question is that why not connected negative voltage but positive since the 2N06L5 is N Channel Mosfet?

    26:58 off course we have to be carefull because its the brakes.... but if we are taking off the module down its because its not working properly BUT the brakes work good enough when you have them under tension. Its the initial actuation of the brake that is a little sudden. The existing problem has cleared every inspection although this has been going on on my car for 3 years..

    Well done! I learned a lot.
    2012 Ford Escape, randomly the brake pedal will go to the floor while I'm stopping and I lose like >80% of my braking effectiveness, but then the brakes are fine next time I use the pedal. No ABS codes are populating, nor does the vehicle pull to either side when this happens.
    After watching your videos, maybe one of the outlet valves is sticking open, or being unseated intermittently? Any suggestions how to narrow down the issue, if this could be electrical or mechanical?

      Hi mate,
      Thanks for your comment.
      In the wiring diagram, ABS/ESP system you see the details but it actually depends on the manufacturer that what details are included about the ABS module internal configuration.
      May I ask what is your car model?

      Hi, yes that one is the pressure sensor, I pointed it out on the second part of this video but we normally don’t replace it, sensor itself could be faulty and sometimes it’s from the ABS board.
