How I fixed my BMW X6 Engine Cut Out Issue Part 1

- In this video I resolve a engine stalling issue on my BMW X6 3.0 Diesel M57 Engine. The car would start up fine then randomly cut out. At first it was totally random ranging from once a month to once a day, to the point where it would shut down every 30 seconds. Watch me diagnose and fix this issue

Hey man good to see you trying out a another brand.
As an ex-dealer technician, let me give you some advice.
You happen to have a m57, I have come across the issue you mentioned before it randomly cuts out.
Try replacing the alternator first.
Advice I would give to you to make your BMW experience better:
Replace intake manifold with updated unit (has an updated breather system).
Check state of EGR valve operation and check EGR cooler condition.
Check for odd noises, check timing and chain elongation.
Update the Integration level to resolve bugs and improve engine management.
For easier repair instructions and wiring diagrams etc, try to source ISTA-D.
It will be different than using ODIS and the workshop manual since ISTA-D is all in one.
Make sure the cowelling is all replaced and the EEbox is sealed well with new covers if you can.
This will prevent water getting onto the engine and corroding metal parts and the DDE from getting flooded.
Although it will be rare, heavy rain is known to cause havoc in all European cars. I'm sure you don't miss the Plenum chamber flooding when working on older Audi's.

You mentioned BMW fixing prices, my neighbour has an 07 X3 and paid £7K for it. In under a year he had the gearbox go on it - £2K bill via independent! Wasn't happy.

What - you show on screen the resistance of the injectors to be 180 +/-40 Ohms, and then you measure them in the 200k range, where the meter shows 180 k which you apparently deem okay?
