Hey I'm from Canada and there's like no one that knows M57N30A engine I got a very weird problem on my 335d and my mechanic can't find it I tried pretty much everything... I got no codes nothing but the car cabin and steering shake at idle and even more at 800rpm when the rpm is dropping other than that the car runs like a dream no power loss

Alright Dean I've just got a 2012 x5 3.0 40d I've had it a couple of days and noticed when started from cold its like it's surging lasts for about a minute then clears once the engines warm what do you think it could be
hello I have a bmw E60 year 2004 with M57 engine it no longer wants to start I checked the starter ok battery ok I passed it in diag I have several faults including gearbox communication ABS box fuel pump box I checked the relay engine it is ok. I think of the immobilizer box what do you think?
Can anyone help ? I have a 535d 09 plate . The problem is when I start it first thing in the morning it ticks over but the revs are dropping then going back up. It stops after I’ve drove a few minutes Cheers people
I never knew the timing chains failed on these engines I’ve never ever known that to happen I have a td6 Range Rover with 206000 miles now is it worth changing it ?
I have a e90.n47 320d 177bhp having issues with the car. Car will start fine now and then but when idling it will cut out or the reevs will drop to a stall like symptom the engine warning light will flash for a second then will go back off. Some times I can catch the engine with reeving it befor the car dies. You can imagine this in traffic can be fun. When the engine has run for 15 20 mins the issues go away any ideas. I've cleaned map and maf sensor had the egr valve replaced 6 months ago but not the cooler part of the egr system was thinking of doing the glow plug modual any ideas what could it be. 136k miles 2010

Hi Dan, I have a M57 3ltr diesel on a 2003 330d, changed the rocker gasket so pulled injectors out to gain access. All put back together but engine turns over but won’t fire. Have bled the injectors and all plugged back together. Any ideas? Thanks.
Hi Can you do a video of what normal blow by should look like on a fully warm m57n engine (Remove breather pipe from turbo) As I believe mine is excessive (lots of vapour when warm but hardly anything when cold) I am venting to atmosphere at the moment which has stopped the intake track getting covered in oil Regards
Hey doc I have a big problem, my 06 530i isn’t misfiring , it will idle fine but when you hit the throttle it will go up very slow, when you’re driving it won’t go over 2,000 rpms unless you downshift then it will. But it will sit at that rpm it won’t accelerate. Where should I start?
yesterday my e90 320d cranked for a second then stopped then started perfect second time and has been doing same thing every time I start it anyone any idea or help why? thanks
Will a misfire under full throttle cause the motor to go into limp mode. A issue developed where I can feel a slight misfire, but driving around following the speed limit everything works fine until I pin the throttle and it gets hight in the rpm. Once it's high in the rpm the motor will go into what I believe is limp mode until I come to a complete stop, engine shuts off on it's own, will not start until Pull key out and put it back in then everything is back to normal until I start getting heavy on the pedal.

Glow plugs, also check Injectors for leakage
Not everything applies to my N54 e90 but your vids are alway informative.

I have an M57 E60, 2005. My fan spins all of the time, no matter if the AC is on or off, and no matter the temp. Where should I look?
Just noticed my car is only showing 9psi at idle not 14 ..likely a vacuum leak ?

Search up the vin number online it should tell you which engine you have
320 d ? Well then probably the n47 AS the efficient dynamics version (power throttled down in comparison to normal n47)
