I'd be helpful to know the dimensional specs of this suppressor in order to see whether this would fit on a certain build, especially the depth of the shrouded part (i.e. the length from the rear end to the 1/2x28 thread shoulder).
Just got mine home and the collet on the 3 piece collar doesn’t even fit in the back of the suppressor the opening isn’t big enough but it fits inside my AEM5 just fine?
Pretty much, at least as far as length is concerned. . The sleeve will still need to be cut to fit the barrel due to how much variation there is in profiles across brands. We are making some pre-done ones for colt barrels because generally they are pretty consistent and that's what most people use with these builds but even those can vary a bit.
When is the next batch? I was gonna use my AEM5 but the more I think about having to swap between the Gordon and mk12 the more I’m probably just gonna get the m4 for the Gordon and get another barrel
The "originals" had the knurling at the front like these. There have been some done with reverse knurling throughout the years as well as a more green color. We are doing a small run of reverse knurled ones for people who prefer it over the front knurled ones but both have been used. Take a look at the link below for more info www.aesuppressors.com/ranger-carbine/
That's the 727/XM4/M4 profile. In The Unit, they replaced barrels about every 2 weeks because of the shoot schedule. (7,000-10,000rds/ week). This is one reason why you see most 723 carbines with 727 barrels. Colt also started shipping 723s with the 727 barrel and handguard cap to be compatible with M203s. The 723 handguard cap that commonly shipped with the pencil barrel didn't allow the 203 receiver to clear it. This is why 727s and M4s have a clipped handguard cap with those little sections cut out. The 727 step cut on the barrel forend also captivated the front M203 bracket from moving forward when you slid the 203 open aggressively. SEALs had rigged up the older Colt 653 M16A1 Carbines with 203s, but the bracket or bushing up front needed to be really tight and secure to prevent dislodging the M203 receiver from the carbine. This is where the 727 barrel profile came from in the 1970s. The pencil 723 barrel is better for reflex suppressors and lightweight though, but Sniper Troops in The Unit preferred select 4150 CMV barrels with heavier profiles to maintain tight groups when heated up and shot in high volume. They tried some stainless barrels when chasing the original Sniper/Recce carbines, but the stainless pipes shot out too fast due to softer steel, so chromoly steel was preferred.
@@waltersobchak2250 You're right. I spoke out before seeing the end where the cans were removed. I'm trying to remember any company that made a 14.5" gov't profile like that with a heavy forend and I'm drawing a blank.
Not necessarily but some barrels like colt hold tighter tolerances on the OD of the barrel so they easier to fit a standard collar. Avoid anything that has a flarr at the end if you don't want to have to deal with lathe work.
@@AllenEngineering I ordered one of the 30th anniversary M4 models. What do you recommend between the Colt 14.5 - Gov vs. Socom barrels, and is there any additional need to send to D. Wilson for custom work that one should be aware of?
@proma_io thanks for picking one up! Either barrel is probably fine, just depends on how hard you want to run it. The socom is a bit more rigid which will be better as a suppressor host in general. Because there is so much variation in barrel dimensions, we send them out with a "blank" sleeve that can be bored out to match your barrel. Usually it's a pretty simple process but Dave can fix you up.
Can’t wait to get my M4’s! Glad to see someone was able to carry Ron’s Torch!
Just bought one through ESilencers, on the 30th anniversary of Mogadishu. So happy you guys made another run.

I’m using an AEM5 for my mk12 and Gordon but next year hopefully y’all do another batch I want to switch over to the 14.5” with the M4 suppressor
Any plans to make the 3rd model suppressor used on the m24? Thinking it would be sweet on an LMT MWS with 20” barrel.
Yeah we have components for a small run made, just need to get more tooling made up.
@@AllenEngineeringOh, nice! Sounds like a ways out but do you guys have a time frame goal?
Early next year. Lots of stuff to get caught up on through December and then we will get then rolling
@@AllenEngineeringSounds great! Will the shoulder be about 5” back from the muzzle?

I was readings the comments and im a little confused for mounting, any standard government profile thats 14.5 should work?

Are the limited production?
The gothic serpent ones are. M4s will be semi regular production depending on demand.
Would this be compatible with pin weld breaks?

Probably end of May
@@AllenEngineering got 1 more payment to make on mine then I can finally finish my Gordon I’ve been working on for a year and a half

Would there be a way to permanently attach this suppressor to the barrel to make it a non-NFA length?
No we have looked into it and we would have to completely change the can. We are working on some trainers that be pinned though
Will this work on a 16 inch pencil barrel? If so how much of the barrel will be covered?
Anything can be done if you get creative with the collar but you likely won't be able to use the 3 piece collar.
What's the db rating on them?
What barrel profile is the 14.5 used in the video?

Will the M4 fit over a 14.5 inch SOCOM profile barrel?
Yes it will
Will these fit onto 20 inch barreled AR with an FSB?
9-hole Review posted a short with an AEM M4 mounted on a M16A1.
Will this work on a socom barrel profile?
Shouldn't be a problem. Just get the inner sleeve fitted to match the barrel and you are good to go.
Is there a brand of barrel you guts reccomend for these suppressors?

will it work on a 14.7 barrel? Thanks
Shouldn't be an issue. Most 14.5" barrels are actually 14.6-14.7 when you measure them.
Sweet Jesus!
