    There are 2 additional options, the Willfire MFG collar and the Allegheny Tapered gas block. The Willfire collar is like a Gordon collar but for 12.5 carbine govt profile barrels. The Allegheny gas block has an integrated taper so you can skip the collar in the rear and have a very compact AE/OC M5 setup.

    For you guys wanting to do this on an 11.5 barrel or any other barrel that doesn’t have enough space, you can use the Otter Creek PTB (think that’s the name) adapter. It basically extends forward the space you need instead of coming backwards over the barrel.

    • @blakejake9618
      @blakejake9618  8 месяцев назад +1

    • @AntonXChigurh
      @AntonXChigurh 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@blakejake9618 There's a lot of debate about the correct way to install those brakes. The OCM OTB single piece adapter specifically says not to use a crush washer. Centurion arms sells their brake with a crush washer with the reasoning that the collar will align the suppressor. I tried the crush washer and it seemed to work fine. But I ended up going with an accuwasher and shim to get the brake to time correctly and have enough clearance for the can to get the proper 7-10 turns for installation. E

As you can see in the video I have a 12.5 and it’s right on the a2 sight. If you have a low pro gas block you’d have an extra inch or so of space because the sight isn’t extended off it.

    I just ordered the ocm5 and ops Inc brake & collar. I’m building this one from the can rearward, basically. Not going for any clone correct builds here, I just met a customer at the range with a mk12 setup and decided I had to have this. Interesting collar solution with the gb/collar combo, I’ll definitely look into that. I know most people would be putting this can at home on a stainless barrel but I’d really like to stick with Chf 18” since I shoot usually a couple times a week, higher rates of fire sometimes, and the gun may hit a high round count pretty fast… any recommendations on a Chf rifle gas 18” barrel?
