  • In this video, I go over a POV tip to get set-up properly and consistently to your putts. I am using a 33" Scotty Cameron putter so this tip is best served for those using 33-35" putters. I say this because there are extended length belly putters and arm-lock putters out there that use a bit of a different set-up technique.
If you can get the shaft of the putter basically on your zipper line and in line with your sternum, then it's an easy POV check you can do while you are playing. This process will allow you to set-up consistently each time to your putts. The point of this set-up is to lower your chances of pushing and pulling your putts. This is because you will strike your putts at the bottom of the arc you are creating with your stroke. If the ball is hit too soon (before the bottom of the arc) you are likely to push putts/miss right (for the right-handed player). If the ball is hit too late (after the bottom of the arc) then you are likely to pull putts/miss left. If you can get your set-up right, then the focus turns to green reading and alignment with one less variable to worry about.
Keep in mind, even though my set-up is more in the center of my body, my ball position is still a little forward of center.
