How To Get A Better Turn With Your Driver
In this video, I cover a few ways you can get a more complete turn in your backswing with your Driver. This will allow you to get into a better position with your body and club at the top of the swing, build more power, and allow you to get into a great impact position.
Key Areas of Focus:
-Let the left knee (forward knee for the right-handed player) give a little, or another way of saying it, have it point to the ball as you make your backswing.
-Feel a stretch in your upper body on the right side throughout your chest. Sternum points away from the target completely.
-Ensure your left shoulder/front shoulder is behind the ball.
What this will do is allow you to use your hips and core correctl...

Simple Tip For How To Square The Clubface On The Downswing #golfswingtips #simplegolftips

In this video, I cover how to square the clubface on the down swing. I go over what works for me and what I feel. One thing to note is that if you take the club away on a pretty good plan and have good positions at the top, you need to have your body, arms, and hands doing the correct things through impact in order to have a square clubface. The way I do that is to keep my left elbow pointed at...

      @fredpodorf5890 For me, it's mostly sub-conscious now, but I used to work really hard on having a movement toward the target to start my swing. I still feel like my belt buckle bumps/rotates slightly toward the target to start the swing (it's just a small move) and that really activates my core and lower body. Absolutely, I go over spine tilt and more details on set-up in some of my other videos. For me, a good check is to stand straight up, bend at the hips until you feel a slight pull in the hamstrings, and then from there a slight bend in the knees. The spine piece takes care of itself. You will be in a good tilt for your height etc... Hope that makes sense.

      Not sure what pro swings you are watching, but here is another video to watch ruclips.net/video/P9yUyiDgyWc/видео.html He is pretty good and says the same thing using a shaft extension and pencil. Notice how it gives him the feel to use his hips and body correctly through impact. I agree, it is really challenging to make that move if you are used to flipping at the ball. Seems impossible really. It really won't hit your belly if you clear properly in your swing. I can see it grazing your backside with a faster swing, but that is your backside not your belly. Cheers.

    • @forbirdiegolf
      @forbirdiegolf Месяц назад

      @YoungDisciple90 Great question. For pitches/chips, I always try to hit the ground the ball sits on, or ball and ground at the same time. That will give you solid contact and prevents fat/chunky shots and the thin shots. With irons, I like to say, hit the little ball then the big ball or golf ball before turf/earth. Your divot with irons starts at the ball and goes forward not before the ball which produces (fat/chunky shots). Hope that helps!

    Love your style. To the point, no frills. I’m a solid 6 hdcp. Can you add heel shots to the wish list? From dtl view everything looks stellar, then last nanosecond heel is delivered. So frustrating. If I may explain more: keeping angles, wrist structure (structure ball between arms, or even a trail wrist extension gadget for example increases problem). I’m probably not explaining well, but appreciate.

    How do you control distances?

    • @forbirdiegolf
      @forbirdiegolf 2 месяца назад

      O man, the golden question! I like to control the backswing length (how far I take the club away) and make it consistent for certain distances ie: a 10 yrd pitch to a 20 yrd pitch etc. The same concept rings true for half to 3/4 to full shots as well. Find what length of backswing produces the yardage/flight in which you are seeking. My downswing has the same amount of effort so again it all comes back to the backswing. Longer backswing -> longer shot. You could think of it as taking the club below hip height, to hip height, to above hip height (3/4 swing), to full backswing depending on the desired shot. Does that make sense?

      @fredpodorf5890 Can you clarify the first question regarding the rope? For #2 check this out: ruclips.net/video/bOc0LdiCSnA/видео.html For me, I like to have a slight hip bump to the target to start my swing. It feels natural and creates a smoother motion for my backswing. I recommend doing something like that, whatever feels natural to you.

    Well explained. I'm just now coming to terms with not swinging with arms and hands. Would another way to think about it be to think as though you're swinging with your shoulders?

    • @forbirdiegolf
      @forbirdiegolf 2 месяца назад

      @ST-xg3gy yes, I think that would be a good feel as long as you feel the club "fall" from the top. In other words, you do not want the shoulders pulling the club over the top on the way down. Shoulders turn through as the club falls/drops on the way down.

    Great advice. One tip. Go out in your yard and practice getting the feel of hitting a flop shot. Just spend 20 - 30 minutes hitting 30, 20, and 10 yard flops daily for a few weeks. Guarantee you will see improvement next time you go play.

      Love that comment. You are spot on. I literally did that from 2nd to 12th grade.
