I really really really like this driver drill guys.....This was the main thing I did for YEARS that make driving the best part of the game! Maybe I should have done some more chipping and putting back then but oh well :) hope you enjoy and this serves you well!
Love this drill and great presentation as always, clear simple instruction and great visualization. Can this drill be applied to the iron game too assuming a set up change with less spine tilt?
I am a 2 handicap. Driver has always been my inconsistency. Distance has never been an issue but when I get out of sync I have no idea where it is going. I have worked with some great instructors over the years. I understand the swing well. But this was the best video, simplified instruction & swing thoughts that I have ever seen or heard for a driver!!
This is by far the best driver drill I have ever watched and tested. I watched it earlier today and went to the driving range, the results were incredible. I started golf 4 years ago and I have never find a cure to my slice. I think now I have understand how to swing it. Thank you Eric, really appreciate it. ( my first ever comment on youtube by the way)
Watched this drill last night, took it to the range this morning and my goodness. I overdrew a few but not a single slice. Gained yards and accuracy without having to swing any harder at all. Fantastic drill, thanks Eric. There are plenty of good coaches on youtube but you're one of the few great ones.
Lead arm rotation with head staying back is $$$$. Took these two elements to the course and hit longer, straighter drives than I have in YEARS!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻EC
Just watched this video for the first time the other day, played golf yesterday and tried to put this into action. It was shocking how good, how consistent I was immediately driving the ball! I had ZERO range time to practice beforehand. Great results were instantaneous! I’ve watched tons of driver videos over the years and none of them, NOT ONE, can beat the effectiveness of this one! I just came across this video and it has to be the best advice since I started golfing in July. He's actually showing what to do instead of over talking. Most videos talk for 10 minutes and swing the club 3 times. Thanks Alot
Alex. Congratulations. You are now 2 for 2. I did the right foot back yesterday. Started to stripe my irons so solid and extremely straight. Same results today. I put this video into my range practice today. The driver swing immediately improved dramatically. Gained 20+ yards. Solid contact. The few i hit poorly were due to NOT keeping right shoulder down and not moving forward. Thus, you are 2 for 2. Thank you so much
Watched this yesterday and took it to the range today. Just felt so different. Effortless and so much less tension in my arms. No low left pulls. Going to watch this again and again until it becomes entrained. Thanks Eric.
Watched this video this morning, went into back yard without any balls… went to the course without any driving range practice. Hit 9 of 10 fairways and 80% with a draw! Easy to incorporate! Thank you!
Eric... ABSOLUTELY the best tip I have gotten for my driver swing in my life !!! Bombing drives.. this drill probably added 25 yds average to my drives. SO MANY THANKS !!!
I watched this video for about a week. Since i work from home most days i was in my garage doing this drill. Finally was able to get to the range. Warmed up first with some wedge shots, still did the drill worked well, then went to my normal 6 iron, worked just as good, was hitting straight irons shots. Finally got to the driver. Follow all three steps, Left arm, both arms, total body, head back. Setup to hit my driver, straight down the middle. Hit it a few more times just to be sure worked very well. Thanks for the video👍🏾👍🏾
Been on the struggle bus getting off the tee. Started doing this drill at home after watching your video a few times. Played 18 today and it really started to click on the back 9. Thanks for the help!
Can't wait to give it a try. I like the idea of pre shot routine - something you can take to the course. Your tips are always straight forward and simple - easy to understand and do.
@cogornogolf Thanks for sharing this video. I am big slicer and I applied all the steps in this drill and THEY WORKED!!!!. I started to DRAW after just 60mins practicing this drill. Can't wait to continue practicing drill until it becomes natural. Much more conscious about keeping the head back and the shoulder down!
Appreciate your support, Steve! Will be back in PA during the summer...email service@cogornogolf.com with the subject "PA LESSONS" and we'll add you to the email list and notify you of openings👊 Thanks!
Hi Eric - many similar comments already but I'd like to reiterate what a great video this is. I've also watched tons of online lessons over the years but none of them come close to explaining how to draw the ball off the tee in the clear and concise way you have done here. Absolute gold and very grateful to you for taking the time to share your knowledge in the way you do. You are an outstanding coach and I always look forward to your new content appearing. Thanks!
last week I committed to this drill / sequence. I'm a 12 HC and just getting going for this season. I have to say my drives have never been better or more consistent. My irons are already pretty decent, but my driver was very inconsistent. Some good days - mostly bad - always chasing a new change. Some days I could drive it 260 but most days 200-220 with an annoying OTT side spin. This sequence of drills - the combination of rolling the arms to release / close the face and the calmness and tempo it's creates for me is nothing short of a miracle. The worst miss now - after doing this at the range 4 times - is either a draw hook or a pretty minor fade. At half my shots are high straight flights with 5-10 yard draws and 250 yards. I'm not even swinging hard - yet. Like 93-95 mph. So I know there is more there to go after. But I'm going to be patient and get this ingrained on the course. One thing I have noticed though is that a good number of my shots that are not straight can be pulls. They are long because I'm closing the face. I can correct by closing my stance more but that may not translate to playing on the course....any thoughts there? Ball position adjustment maybe - or weaker grip? thanks for this great lesson. It made me excited about driver.
As many other golfers I’ve struggled with the Driver. After a period away from golf, I have REALLY been on the range the last year or so. The Driver was at best, as good as it ever were before - but I didn’t have the feel of a good stroke. I saw this video once - and went for the range to test it. Fantastic result !! I gained consistency + 20 % length
Thank you for this drill. I tried this at the driving range this morning, and it was magic. I’ve been struggling with weak fades and block slices for over a year now. Spent an hour doing this drill and I got instant results. Hitting it a lot straighter, with a slight fade but getting at least 30 yards more. I will keep practicing this.
This is awesome and explains the launch angle. I've been at 10-11 degrees with 225-230 carry. With this drill my numbers are 13 degrees launch angle with 248 carry. What a difference and it also fix my shoulder to stay down and having my head stay back. Getting rid of the bad picture is tough to do (lol) though. I also applied this to my irons and increase my the yardage. Lead arm rotation allows for a sport feel versus a technical feel.
Been hitting a lot of high pushes and low hooks. Followed this process at the range today and was hitting consistent high draws within 30 minutes. Keeping the head back was the key for me.
Incredible drill. Newer golfer who has never been comfortable swinging a driver. Warmed up with this and pured multiple shots at the range. They're not going very far yet, but I'm learning how to make consistent contact. Good cues for the movement pattern!
This explanation is very clear. I also put the alignment stick just 4" or so over the top of the ball. So I have to come in low to avoid hitting it. However, since I am left hand dominant I really have to "push" with my right hand to avoid pulling or hooking. This has been my struggle for years. (Someday I hope to find an instructor who is left handed but plays right. The ones who aren't don't understand how this left/right conflict holds us back).
Thank you Eric! Perfectly said……my brother’s swing, a spun out downswing with no release. I was trying to explain what you professionally demonstrated. I’ve been watching you a lot years and you are the best. And honest, kinda rare.
This is one of the best driver videos I have ever seen. It worked very well for me when I first tried it. i have a lot of bad habits with the body I need to quiet down for this to work, but will stay after it. Thanks for this Eric.
Thx Eric, I've watched a long list of your videos over years, but this one saved my game. I've always struggled with a constant weak fade/slice... this drill got me into the driver power slot. BTW, I loved the series you did with Mike Malaska. They were so helpful!
I just tried the alignment stick creating a "channel" where the head goes through. completely changed my whole thought process. Hitting the ball so much better!!! THANK YOU!!
Single most helpful instructional video I’ve ever seen. Honestly I took the same feel to my irons also. Awesome penetrating draw with every club. Thanks!
I watch a lot of golf videos and some of them help with some of my flaws, my most common one is coming over the top like most people. I have to say Eric this three stage drill had me hitting awesome drives today at least 20 to 30 yards further than normal and straight. We’ll see, if it lasts longer than 24 hours. A lot of the tips I learn seem to work initially but disappear at midnight like Cinderella‘s stagecoach.
using the basket to hold alignment stick is brilliant! the other day I was trying the drill out. I stick the alignment stick into the ground to create that 45 degree. It feels like I would hit the stick as I takeaway
As a 70 year old golfer who craves distance, this is the best video I have ever seen to accomplish my goal. Thank you so much. I will watch this over and over this season. Thanks again.
I'm glad that I just came across this video. In the last two years I've been hitting my driver longer than I ever have. Unfortunately with that has come a lot of misses. Basically topping the ball. I'm a high handicapper at 28. My short game is good. It's getting off the tee box consistently. My longest drives have been around 275, but probably average 230-240 yards. I don't slice, I hit draws, sometimes straight, and the dreaded hook. I was told I'm moving my head around too much during my swing. I'll be heading to the range tomorrow and using some of your advice in this video. It's been embarrassing duffing my driver 20 yards.
Thanks Eric! This was great! I was still fading it though so I moved my ball position up to my left foot and was able to hit it more solid with a little draw. This is maybe because it’s taking me a bit longer for the driver’s toe to rotate past the heel. I also tried Rahm’s old thing of having about 6 inches of space between the driver face and teed up ball at setup. This promoted a low take away along the ground 😅
Awesome drill, Eric. Would you recommend the same feels -- swinging out to right with arms, using body rotation to square the path -- for irons, maybe less exaggerated than driver with both?
Excellent video and drill for the release with driver. Just what I need to take to the range and probably your preshot routine to the course. I feel like I've been hitting block slices with driver forever and losing a lot of distance, just recently realised I got caught up in the "drive hold" swing ideas from a few years ago and haven't even been letting the club release. Thanks from NZ!
This is an exceptional set of drill that nicely build/nest on one another. The drill aided me in programming a natural movement with the driver such that I didn't have to overthink my swing. It is a natural movement and these drills drive it home. Really well done video.
Very good tip for the vast majority of golfers. Really good advice. Only improvement I can think of would be a shot tracer. Now, if I can just hit the center of the club face.
This explains why yesterday at the range trying to find my driver swing id at times feel during the swing id reverse pivot (think thats the term for the “ bad” where weight stays back swing action) but the ball was flying its best ..keeping head back and shoulder down overwrote the lack of weight transfer … thanks for drill that i think may rid me of weight back
Great way of explaining the swing. Breaking it down in steps helps see and understand the sequence. One question regarding the trail elbow, does it need to stay close to your hip on your downswing or can it come off but leaving a gap?
Hey! Heres full detail on the right elbow that should help answers your questions better than I can via text: ruclips.net/video/1rXgZHGyFBQ/видео.html&pp=ygUYRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIHJpZ2h0IGVsYm93
I thought I'd add a comment (not something i usually do)..... This only bloody works! Tried it today on the first tee... 25 or 30 yards extra, slight draw. I'm not a long hitter now I'm in my 60s but this made a difference all the way round. Thanks Eric. Brilliant job of explaining it m
Wow..... this is such a great drill... been coming over top and slicing driver since I started playing... such a great drill and different feel and sensation.... you and Trevor are the best out there.... thanks so much!!
Hi Eric, I've never really understood in to out, until I practiced this drill, all the other components naturally came together, I finally realise the "feel" I'm looking for through the swing, fantastic. Great online content & love the fact you keep it simple.... superb!
Hey Eric. Ever thought of making a companion video that addresses misses we might see when doing this drill and how to fix them? This drill is awesome and I'm seeing some really great high draws and hoping to ingrain the move. On the way my misses are a low/mid ball-flight straight ball that hooks, and a high, far and straight push anywhere from 15 - 25 yards right of target. Tks for the great drill!!!!
Thank you! I think you just highlighted my problem. I’ve been moving my head during the driver swing. My miss is hitting too low on the face. My drives vary from 200 to 240, due to the inconsistency of strike. Direction is usually good (straight or draw).
You got it! Yes that sounds right....definitely something to look at to help hit higher/farther if you already got the straight part!! It can be a bit of a give and take....key to find how to gain distance while keeping the straight lol : )
I appreciate the lesson! Great content! I’m having trouble “bottoming out” or “drop kicking” when I’m trying to release the club. Any tips? Setup issue you think?
Hey! Yep I see that for sure....I would need to see your swing to say for sure (send swings to www.cogornogolf.com so we can see and help) But without seeing and educated guessing I would usually see that from 1. Weight hanging back too much on back side in downswing 2. Club path too far off plane (usually under) but could be both
I don't slice much but distance has really gone down. I think my right shoulder doesn't stay down and feel my head moving towards target. Can't wait to try these drills. Thank you Eric!!!
Thanks Claudio! Yes very similar----talked more on that here how you can use these feels/drill with irons: ruclips.net/video/JAPGO-waO_o/видео.html Some minor differences with driver vs iron is the head/lead shoulder more back with driver in downswing to hit up....talk about that here: ruclips.net/video/zqoxhAatv1U/видео.html
This is crazy and I’ll explain why. I’m new to golf, less than 8 months playing. I started out hitting the ball about 230-240 yards carry on good shots. Then I started to shank the ball bad. 3 weeks ago on the tee box I would take practice swings with just lead arm holding the club doing the exact thing your talking about. I was really just looking for a good area to setup on and put my tee in the ground. Looking for flat sections for my feet. Long story short once I started doing the 3 practice swings with my left hand and really focusing on closing the clubface on those swings, I started crushing the ball. It helped me hit my first and longest drive ever of 315 yards!!! Now I’m consistently driving the ball 270 yards. Mind you I’m still scoring in mid to low 90’s with a best of 88 😁😁. I see 75’s in my near future but my goal is to score a 79 or better before late August which will be my first year of playing golf.
Great content...my question is more about strong grip driver swing. To me it's not the same sequence. I understand coming from the inside but I cannot swing a golf club with a weak or neutral grip.
Thanks! Following the arc left! Hands are traveling up and in from about the time they reach the trail thigh through impact.....but from hands hip high to impact the HANDS are going UP AND LEFT.....WHILE....the club is going DOWN and RIGHT As soon as impact hits the club head is working back up and in
Thanks Bruce! Could be a bunch of stuff---cant say for sure with out seeing swings....send swings to www.cogornogolf.com or check this out: ruclips.net/video/go6E2FVu1G0/видео.html&pp=ygUXRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIHRvcHMgdGhpbnM%3D

Learn from you all the time Eric, appreciate your knowledge and how you teach it. Would be nice to hear in more detail how one can get rid of a strong hook - personally a slice might be preferred over a hook (not a draw) as that has a uncontrollable mind of it's own making tee shots a scary part of the game. Happy Easter all.
Thanks Patrick! Yeah to get rid of hooks.....opposite of this :) 1. Find out why face closed to path and lessen 2. Find out why path too far in to out an lessen You may feel club working more out to in....or left past impact while PREVENTING the face from over closing Check this one for hook fix portion: ruclips.net/video/DHDS1GlPxLg/видео.html&pp=ygUxRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIGZlZWxzIGh0cm91Z2ggdGhlIGJhbGwgaG9vayBhbmQgZmFkZQ%3D%3D ruclips.net/video/HMWq-WZR-0k/видео.html&pp=ygUxRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIGZlZWxzIGh0cm91Z2ggdGhlIGJhbGwgaG9vayBhbmQgZmFkZQ%3D%3D ruclips.net/video/EmXw-YeD324/видео.html&pp=ygURRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIGhvb2s%3D
Follow-up - I just tried this in a PGA Tour Superstore Trackman Bay that I rented for 1 hour. Before today's experiment, I didn't ever hit my Driver. Whenever I tried, I hit thin, weak, pull-hooks that didn't get airborn and went maybe 60-80 yards. After a little practice, I was able to hit right to left draws that started right of my target line. I had a 19y-25y curve L. My average carry was 169 and my total distance "jumped" to a range between 210- 245. I think I was able to land half of the drives in the fairway and the other half were split between 2 of the aforementioned weak pulls and the rest of the half were dead straight pushes into the right rough. With a little more practice, I'll be hitting the fairways 7/10 times. I'm 61 years old and don't hit the ball far, so, being able to hit Driver or Fairway Wood off the Par 4 and 5 tees is going to be inportant to bring my WHS Handicap Index down. Thanks Eric!!!
Yes----can be great with neutral, weak or strong grip....really depends. Could be several reasons why you hit low left....I wish I could give you a simple "yes" or "no" but that would be foolish without me seeing your swing on video. I would go find a great coach to work with in person or send videos in to www.cogornogolf.com so we can help there! Once we see your swing will be easy to say what grip to have and what else is going on to cause that miss/how to fix!
13:46 Hi Eric and amazing video. If you are looking for video ideas, can you possibly expand on this with irons/hybrids/woods. It would be great to see the subtle differences that are needed when the ball is not teed up. Thank you!
I was watching this and wondered if it could be applied to irons or if tweaks needed to be made to the drill and mechanics. Was another video made for shots Spyro suggested?
I’ve been struggling with low point issues and miss hitting over rotating the club head and even hitting the corner of the toe even dented my driver going to try some of these drills tmrw see what happens
Thanks for this Eric, I’ve been hitting my woods with an over the top swing for ever, will definitely try this out. Could you tell me what grip pressure you use, as I’m sure I grip way too tight. Ps I’m 67 with arthritis. Probably anticipating ball impact.
You got it!! Yeah grip pressure can be tricky...I have some great players ho are super loose.....some more tight and some in the middle :) I would say key would be where you start to stay! I talk about that more here: ruclips.net/video/VQ2fVOx6re8/видео.html&pp=ygUaRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIGdyaXAgcHJlc3N1cmU%3D

Just got back from the range, it was the greatest tip success I have ever had in 45 years of golf.
Love to hear this!!
DON'T WATCH THIS AT WORK! You will want to leave work and go right to the range! love your content.
LOL love it!
Instructions unclear. Swinging driver in my basement while working.
Good thing I work at the course 😂

This is one of the best driver videos I have ever seen. It worked very well for me when I first tried it. i have a lot of bad habits with the body I need to quiet down for this to work, but will stay after it. Thanks for this Eric.
Hell yeah love to hear it!! Our pleasure!
Thx Eric, I've watched a long list of your videos over years, but this one saved my game. I've always struggled with a constant weak fade/slice... this drill got me into the driver power slot. BTW, I loved the series you did with Mike Malaska. They were so helpful!
Love to hear it, Max! Appreciate your support!
I just tried the alignment stick creating a "channel" where the head goes through. completely changed my whole thought process. Hitting the ball so much better!!! THANK YOU!!
Love to hear it!
Single most helpful instructional video I’ve ever seen. Honestly I took the same feel to my irons also. Awesome penetrating draw with every club. Thanks!
Love to hear this, Jacob!
Great drill. Great stuff. Thanks Eric. Loved your Nick Faldo series. Great insight into the workings of a great golfer.
Thank you!!
:) Hope it continues to serve you well!
using the basket to hold alignment stick is brilliant! the other day I was trying the drill out. I stick the alignment stick into the ground to create that 45 degree. It feels like I would hit the stick as I takeaway
Yes....exactly....when the back part is higher it eliminates that issue!
Hi Eric, This has been a break through moment for me. To anyone watching this. Use it , it works!!
Thanks Andrew!
Great drill as someone who consitantly hits a high slice / fade I can’t wait to get on the range to try this 👍 thank you
Yes! Thanks Dean---our pleasure!
Without doubt, THE best driver instruction on the internet. The demonstration of keeping the head behind the ball is key.
Thanks Peter!!
As a 70 year old golfer who craves distance, this is the best video I have ever seen to accomplish my goal. Thank you so much. I will watch this over and over this season. Thanks again.
Love it John! hope this one serves you well!!
great coaching, Eric, thanks
Appreciate it :)
I want to thank you so much, I’ve had a terrible slice for a long time. This video was what finally fixed it. ❤
Great to hear!!
Hope this one serves you well Brady!👊
Will definitely start working on this. Driving is by far the worst part of my game and it’s frustrating not being able to get off the tee.
Hope this one helps ya man!
I love the simplicity of this drill. As an aging golfer ( 72 ) I wonder if the same idea applies to all clubs.
Appreciate it! Another one coming on Saturday for applying this to irons!
Love it Thomas!
Awesome drill, Eric. Would you recommend the same feels -- swinging out to right with arms, using body rotation to square the path -- for irons, maybe less exaggerated than driver with both?
Hey Jeff! Yes very similar----I go over this drill with irons here:
ruclips.net/video/JAPGO-waO_o/видео.html
Love it. Any pre shot routine for irons?
Thanks! Could feel same things.....just less head back
Excellent video and drill for the release with driver.
Thank you! You got it---hope this one helps!
This is an exceptional set of drill that nicely build/nest on one another. The drill aided me in programming a natural movement with the driver such that I didn't have to overthink my swing. It is a natural movement and these drills drive it home. Really well done video.
thank you!!
Absolute game-changer! Such a simple concept, yet so effective! Thanks Eric!!
Our pleasure!! Appreciate it!
Very good tip for the vast majority of golfers. Really good advice. Only improvement I can think of would be a shot tracer. Now, if I can just hit the center of the club face.
Thank you!!
This explains why yesterday at the range trying to find my driver swing id at times feel during the swing id reverse pivot (think thats the term for the “ bad” where weight stays back swing action) but the ball was flying its best ..keeping head back and shoulder down overwrote the lack of weight transfer … thanks for drill that i think may rid me of weight back
Hope it serves you well my friend!!
Many thanks Eric, I will try to practice with your demonstration.
Our pleasure! Hope it serves you well!
Thank you. Good practice for me . I will do this from now on.
Hope it helps Frank!
I can’t believe how well this works ! I was going to sell my driver a few weeks back it’s now my favourite club thanks to this video
Haha love it Sam!! Glad this one helped and you're back on track!!
By FAR the very best instruction video I've seen in years, you have a new fan! Thank you Eric, keep them coming mate......👏
Thank you Owen! Appreciate you being here with us!
Another great video by Eric , man’s a legend in making golf easier to understand 👍
Thank you!👊
Great way of explaining the swing. Breaking it down in steps helps see and understand the sequence. One question regarding the trail elbow, does it need to stay close to your hip on your downswing or can it come off but leaving a gap?
Hey!
Heres full detail on the right elbow that should help answers your questions better than I can via text:
ruclips.net/video/1rXgZHGyFBQ/видео.html&pp=ygUYRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIHJpZ2h0IGVsYm93
Thank you @@CogornoGolf, will definitely incorporate this lesson when I go to range.
Thanks Eric! 10 HCP here, having issues with hooked tee shots. Excellent drills and swong thoughts to take to the course
You got it man---hope this serves you well!!
👊Love to hear this, Toby!
Top class Instruction. Love the way you teach and the way you keep it simple. Thanks.
Appreciate it :)
Wow..... this is such a great drill... been coming over top and slicing driver since I started playing... such a great drill and different feel and sensation.... you and Trevor are the best out there.... thanks so much!!
Thank you!
Hi Eric, I've never really understood in to out, until I practiced this drill, all the other components naturally came together, I finally realise the "feel" I'm looking for through the swing, fantastic. Great online content & love the fact you keep it simple.... superb!
Glad this one helped my friend!!
This has really helped me hit up on the ball, which I struggled with. In turn, I lofted up to 11 degrees and hitting straighter.
Love it Matt!
Thanks! Yeah thats a great idea! I try and add that in sometimes without making the videos too long :)
Great technique , I’m going to try out this weekend and report results next week.
Hope it helps my friend!
What a lesson! Top man
Appreciate it!
Super duper vid! This one really helped fill in a couple blanks and helped during my round. Thx
Thank you!! Hope it helps ya!
Can’t wait to try this! My swing looks identical to your “bad” swing example.
:) Hope it helps!
Great stuff. Very comprehensive. Cheers from Australia 👍🏻 Sweet swing by the way.
Thank you!!
I appreciate the lesson! Great content! I’m having trouble “bottoming out” or “drop kicking” when I’m trying to release the club. Any tips? Setup issue you think?
Hey! Yep I see that for sure....I would need to see your swing to say for sure (send swings to www.cogornogolf.com so we can see and help)
But without seeing and educated guessing I would usually see that from
1. Weight hanging back too much on back side in downswing
2. Club path too far off plane (usually under) but could be both
I don't slice much but distance has really gone down. I think my right shoulder doesn't stay down and feel my head moving towards target. Can't wait to try these drills. Thank you Eric!!!
Hope this one serves you well, Chris!
Excellent video …love the focus on how it feels and having a pre-shot routine, as well as the technical aspects. Sub gained 👍
Thanks Ken!
Perfect tips, would it be pretty much the same with irons? Thank you Eric!
Thanks Claudio! Yes very similar----talked more on that here how you can use these feels/drill with irons:
ruclips.net/video/JAPGO-waO_o/видео.html
Some minor differences with driver vs iron is the head/lead shoulder more back with driver in downswing to hit up....talk about that here:
ruclips.net/video/zqoxhAatv1U/видео.html
Love this!!
As always, incredibly good Eric!. I am in Spain but with a couple of classes with you I would improve enormously!
Thanks Carlos! Would love to work together at CogornoGolf.com!
Great content...my question is more about strong grip driver swing. To me it's not the same sequence. I understand coming from the inside but I cannot swing a golf club with a weak or neutral grip.
Thanks Nigel! For sure grip will affect the club face angle.....stronger grip=clubface more closed....so want to pair pieces with that
This is one to watch many times!
Yes! This one helped me so much! Hope it serves you well as well!
Great drill Eric...it works! Tks! Question: is the clubhead traveling a little right of the target line after impact or is it following the arc left?
Thanks! Following the arc left!
Hands are traveling up and in from about the time they reach the trail thigh through impact.....but from hands hip high to impact the HANDS are going UP AND LEFT.....WHILE....the club is going DOWN and RIGHT
As soon as impact hits the club head is working back up and in
@@CogornoGolf Tks!
Love the video. I am going to give it a try. What would cause topping the driver. That is my biggest issue.
Thanks Bruce! Could be a bunch of stuff---cant say for sure with out seeing swings....send swings to www.cogornogolf.com or check this out:

What a good looking example of feel Eric. Simple, yet really impressive and logical. Be good-Russ
Thank you Russ!
I just love your lessons Eric👌I will be trying this🤞⛳️
Thanks Marianne---hope this helps!!
Love the clock visual. I get to steep. visual shows how the club swings around the body.
thank you!!
I’ve always felt like I’ve had a solid swing but struggled with driver.
This drill changed everything for me.
Love to hear that Robert!
Eric is the best instructor with the best drills.
Thanks Scott!!
Yeah to get rid of hooks.....opposite of this :)
1. Find out why face closed to path and lessen
2. Find out why path too far in to out an lessen
You may feel club working more out to in....or left past impact while PREVENTING the face from over closing
Check this one for hook fix portion:

Love it! Our pleasure!
HI Eric, Great video. Does this also apply to all clubs, obviously with different ball positions but the head back shoulder down ?
Hey! Thank you! Yes! More on doing this with iron coming in video soon!
Thanks a TON for this video. I drove it down the middle all day yesterday minus one pull but that's another story.
Glad this one helped!
@CogornoGolf started 5 years ago and I've been watching your channel most of the time. Getting close to single digit handicap and I'll keep watching.
Love it---really appreciate your support!
This is exact drill I have been working on for the last few weeks.
Hope your practice is going good!
Awesome Eric, thanks for posting !
Our pleasure! Thanks for the support!
The best . I do that now. Do you recommend neutral grip. Some times I hit low left.
Thank you!
Thank you! Agreed---will do that one soon!
Hope it helps!!
Yeah grip pressure can be tricky...I have some great players ho are super loose.....some more tight and some in the middle :)
I would say key would be where you start to stay! I talk about that more here:
