    The first putting lesson Set up - Posture and ball positionWeight should be distributed with 60% on the front side.
    The 2nd step to hole more putts is to have a positive and consistent finish for each putting stroke. Amd to do this just like Cameron Smith putting technique who won The Open with a great display of putting and the one key is the way he finishes each putting stroke. You stick a finish and its the Same for every putt. You can try the outrong drill to feel his the shoulders turn and the core activation to be a consistent putter.
    The 3rd simple step is the abilty to have distance control with your outting. Being a good lag putter will stop 3 putts. The simple golf tip for your putting is the Length is of backswing variable. My sightstion is to have 3 base lengths to practice your putting and distance control.
    Putting is 30-40% of your score.. and too many of you are just not good enough at it…
    Now Im not trying to help you be the best putter in the world wit these 3 simple steps…
    It sucks to miss a putt for asking to win some money of your friends… you need a reliable action that you can execute with confidence. And these 3 steps will do just that.
    This is not about reading greens .. this is to give you a big advantage over your friends you play with cause most golfers look something like this…
    Putting in many more of a mental skill than a physical one. To master it, you need confidence to overcome the missed putts, and belief that you’ll make the one after --------------------------------------------

    Thanks, there was some important pointers, but there are so many different ways to putt - 1. holding the club 2. putting action, with every coach telling a slightly different approach. Being a newbie its very confusing sometimes. i have observed that the putt face is flat and square and pointed towards the hole, when the club reaches the center of the legs due to body anatomy, so the ball should also be there to get a straight push directed towards the hole.

    Hi Alex, another gem. A question and a comment. Question: your putter grip appears to be offset. Is this the case and if so, what is the principle? Comment: I noted the quality of the putter throw in the intro. Tommy Bolt noted how much farther he could throw his putter compared to his driver but advised to only throw clubs in the direction of play because it made retrieval easier. Keep the gold coming. cheers from Oz.

    Hi Alex; what's your opinion on the stroke type? Should the putter catch the ball on a slight upswing that makes it roll sooner or flat straight through that makes it skid before rolling?

    • @TheArtofSimpleGolf
      @TheArtofSimpleGolf  2 года назад

      I’m afraid it depends on the green in part. But a slight skid helps most with consistency instead of actively trying to add topspin

    • @TheArtofSimpleGolf
      @TheArtofSimpleGolf  2 года назад +2

      The best thing is practice 2-3 ft.
      Place a tee peg on back of hole. Focus on that before you look back at ball and keep it in your mind.
      Shorter stroke but smooth is key.
      Practice with pressure. Try to make 5 or 10 putts from different places. But you chip before each one. Does not matter if the chip does not go within 3 ft. (Great if it does) but move the ball to 3ft
      Make them all.
      If you miss any putt you start again

    How would he know how bent over the ball I am with it directly under my eyes if he doesnt know how tall I am?

    Madness, all crazy, if you do any of this , it's your intention, that's what your trying to do ...all the terrible putters I see are trying to do stuff like this. If most golfers were playing at putting, playing a game where they're trying to get the ball in a hole they would not be terrible.. Your goal is not to do whatever stupid position you said, that's the biggest problem in golf today, why golf is dying....it's to play a game where you get a ball in a hole.

    • @SteveMe21685
      @SteveMe21685 2 года назад +3

      lol you sound just like my brother. He says everyone is just overcomplicating golf and they don't know what they're talking about. In his mind he knows better than everyone. He's probably never scored a round below 150. Golf is not for everyone and there will always be people quitting because they run out of patience, not because of someones youtube video. Golf is not dying either it has grown since covid. And putting a ball in a hole over and over again requires consistency and thats the point of learning drills so our body gets use to moving the same way every time.

      I think I understand what you are trying to say, but I am not sure. Your first sentence is largely incomprehensible, what does it mean?
      Anyway, you are wrong. Golf is about developing repeatable movements, whether it's putting or with the driver. Read Ben Hogan's 'Five lessons', but then you probably think BH was rubbish anyway :)

    • @TheArtofSimpleGolf
      @TheArtofSimpleGolf  2 года назад

      Yes it’s to put a ball in the hole. Just willing it to happen won’t do it regularly enough. A simple easy technique that can be learned and quickly installed without complication or thought is the goal. That’s the foundation. Then you just putt away. Otherwise you are guessing. Never improving and going in circles without knowing why.
      This is golf. Simplified
