I work in EMS (Paramedic). Yeah, it's a thing. When I've told people what I do for work, Some have asked what's the worst thing I've seen. I usually tell them something that's not even close to the worst, or a funny story. But I've been accused of being too "matter of fact" when telling girlfriends about things. This case is next level messed up.
This woman had every intention of stealing that baby, none of this happened "by accident" she was pretending to be pregnant for 8 months meaning that she had planned to murder a innocent woman to steal her baby. She absolutely deserved that death sentence.
The fact that she's not saying where's my baby at. which is a natural instinct for mother wanting to be with their child after she giving birth let everyone know that, that's not her child

To the people commenting about the ER doctor having a popsicle, people who work in healthcare often have only a limited time to react to tragic or horrifying events. Then we have to hold ourselves together in any way we can and help care for our other patients. The fight against illness, pain, and death won't stop just for one horrifying event even if the staff DO want to mourn. The only thing we can do is to continue our work and then let out our emotions either on breaks or at home. I've been part of some difficult cases but I normally try to eat some sugar and keep myself going until I can go home and cry or sit for a bit just processing. Then we still have to go to work the next day and continue our fight to save lives. Jobs like healthcare, fire department, police, EMTs, etc have to cope in whatever ways they can. Let the man have his popsicle if that's how he fuels himself to continue his 12-24 hour shift.
I think the popsicle doctor was an absolute chad for being able to internalize what just happened at their hospital. The fact that he only needed the popsicle to help with that is admirable. Idk if I'd be able to cope at all if I were in his shoes, with a popsicle or anything really.
Well, that's why burn out is a problem. You HAVE to let go of it and go on. If this becomes too easy you might actually stop caring at all. Then it's time for another job.

I found that the saddest part. Like you can tell he’s such a friendly man and he’s trying to use the same tone of voice he normally does but he realizes the horrible implication of his finding. It’s just so messed up.
You could tell he was saying it jokingly in a pissed off way like she was treating it as a joke, so he was being a smart ass to her to shut her down. I’m sure he was thinking fuck this confirms she’s killed someone and took this baby. So it probably made him mad.

They are educated in psychology. What they were doing were trying to put her at ease by excusing her as a bad person who commited murder. That way she would more readily come clean of some of what she did.
This woman is absolutely bonkers. I am infertile and cannot have children, and yes, that's a lot of mental strain and grief. I also want a baby badly. However, that extent this killer went to is insane. There are plenty of children needing good homes in foster care and waiting to be adopted. This is just downright disgusting and heartbreaking.
my mom was infertile and adopted me! She's not a very nice person otherwise, but she objectively improved my life, as I was in a Russian orphanage that I've now done more research on and discovered is still neglecting the needs of children.
The sad thing about this case is she didn’t really want to have a baby because she wanted to be a nurturing mother she wanted to have this baby for the attention it brings. Taylor was diagnosed a pathological liar. She was also very jealous that her boyfriend’s sister was actually pregnant and all the attention was going to her. She even told her that she “should put her baby in an incubator” so that she can have the baby first. Taylor lied about having MS, being a nurse, being a heiress, being head of HR at a hospital. Basically she loved the attention. To the two children she already had she constantly left them with friends and neighbors. So this wasn’t about being a mother. This was pure evil trying to keep up with her lies. Stephanie soo from the rotten mango podcast gives such a great analysis of how this vile woman came to kill two lives. Disgusting what she did.
My biological sister and I were adopted (after 3 years of jumping around foster homes) by a couple that was thought they were infertile. I now have a 4yo brother who is an angel. It makes me disgusted what people will do in desperation when all humanity leaves. If you’re wondering my (adoptive) mother was unable to get pregnant because her body was unable to absorb some vitamin that is required to keep pregnancies. She was able to get pregnant a few times, but miscarried before any signs showed. Got a supplement and had a textbook perfect pregnancy and delivery.

I work in healthcare unfortunately we have very strange cases come in all the time..I can’t say anything this crazy but if seen some pretty insane stuff and people get arrested time to time

You do know how much you have to go through to be able to adopt and how expensive it is right not anyone can just adopt you have to prove you are able to support the child that you are mentally stable have other supports and it costs thousands to 10s of thousands of dollars and takes years sometimes to get accepted after filing adoption papers and I highly doubt someone like this has the money job or mental stability to be able to adopt let alone be able to even fill out and file the paperwork with an adoption agency also adopting an infant is even harder its faster to adopt like a 6 7 8 year old from a foster home than a newborn infant so yes adoption exists but you cant just go to an agency and walk out with a baby in the same week

I remember reading about a similar situation of a pregnant woman responding to a Craigslist ad. When she arrived, the woman from the ad made the pregnant woman unconscious and took the baby right out of her. The baby didn’t survive but the mother did. This is just so messed up.

I lived in Austin when this happened and it was horrific! That poor baby and mom, she fought so hard to protect her daughter. Her poor surviving daughter that had to witness everything.

She made a bomb threat at the hospital where she was due to go for an appointment so as she would have a "reason" to tell her husband she couldn’t go for her planned appointment. But the husband had to know if she really wasn’t pregnant he would’ve known she had a hysterectomy. Why didn’t he realize there was a big issue when she said she was pregnant after a hysterectomy and even had a gender reveal… she needed help. If someone had stepped in and that point, Reagan and little Braxlyn could possibly still be alive.
I never realized EWU had released this video, this lady was at our house for a crawfish broil we had a few years before this happened. I was still young and don’t really remember her at all but I definitely remember that face, she seemed pretty normal and seemed to be happy with the guy she was with at the time. When my mom told me about this I was just shocked.
I’m an old detective and I teach interview. This detective did an excellent job. He read her personality and mental status. He never crossed the line. He was never over the top. He was working with little information that was still coming in. A true professional.

An unmentioned horrible part of this story is her boyfriend Homer totally believed her. Every one in his life tried to tell him she was a liar and crazy and he would stop talking to them. She convinced him she was inheriting millions of dollars and got him in so much debt by telling him she would pay it all off when the money. It was all a lie. If this doctor went to work at a 3rd world country hospital, he would've jumped out of the roof cause he never seen things that wasn't taught to him during medical school. Being disgusted by someone who has just ended the life of a young woman and her baby is a very natural human emotion. Plus, this seems like a small county hospital. For those wondering who may not know what a hysterectomy is, the procedure she had that the detective keeps mentioning, means she had her uterus removed. She could not have a baby at all because theres nowhere for it to grow.

While pregnant with all 3 of my children I was hyper-vigilant about someone doing this thing to me. Some people thought I was paranoid. The first time I heard of this happening was in the '80s and it horrified me. I didn't care that people thought I was paranoid with all 3 of my pregnancies. I kept my head on a swivel. My heart breaks for Reagan, her precious baby girl, her husband, and her family.

Okay I was so stunned by this case I looked it up, and honestly wish I hadn’t because the details are so horrific I can’t even grasp them fully, but I wanted to comment here so everyone understands the situation and what the victim went through. Before hand I want to say if I upset anyone with the details because they are graphic and horrible, I. Sorry, so I’m letting you know before you read this. The killer had a hysterectomy because she had a tubal pregnancy thus she was unable to have more children herself. Her boyfriend was leaving her so for almost ten months…and I don’t know how she managed it…she did extensive research and effort to convince everyone she was pregnant, even to faking photos of the baby in the womb, and a gender reveal party. How she pulled this off without her boyfriend or any relatives knowing confuses and shocks me but they were on the verse of breaking up so mak he they weren’t being intimate, no idea. She KNEW the victim, was even somewhat a friend by accounts of the victim’s husband, so whether she had planned this the whole time to take this particular baby, I can’t say. But I can presume this was a premeditated plan to take the victim’s baby for months. The young woman herself who dies was only 21 years old and had a young 3 year old daughter who was with her when the attack occurred. Again, I’m sorry for the upsetting details but if you are wondering whether the killer should be pitied because she has to be mentally ill to have done this unspeakable act, you need to understand the premeditation that went into this. She had an animal sedative in her purse but she did not use it. Instead she stabbed the victim more than 100 times and crushed her skull with a hammer. This somehow did not render this poor young woman who was pregnant unconscious, instead she was then violently cut open and the uterus with the baby inside was forcefully ripped out of her body and she struggled so hard to keep her baby inside her that she was likely struck several more times while her finger nails broke off in her uterus trying to hold on to her baby and keep her baby inside her. Her three year old likely saw all of this. The victims placenta was also ripped and cut out of her body while she was concours and alive. The doctors were so upset when they described this they could barely speak on the stand. After this the victim was left to bleed out to death with her three year old toddler after literally being the most amazingly protective mother ever and fighting to her last breath to save her baby. The killer then took the baby, who was unresponsive and not breathing due to the trauma, and the placenta, with her. She stuffed the placenta in her pants to try and fool doctors and authorities into believing she had given birth. The baby was bruised on her head and umbilical cord from being stuck in the womb and violently removed from it. The baby, who would ah e lived even though she was premature, had she been delivered by a normal C section in a hospital, died shortly later because of lack of oxygen and the blood loss her mother suffered during her being removed from the BACK of the uterus which is not where the uterus is cut to remove a child. The killer may be mentally ill but she not only planned this nightmare beyond nightmares, she cared so little about the baby herself and the woman she murdered that she made their deaths as tortuous as possible and literally did not care that the baby died other than her plan failed and she lost her relationship. She is the definition of evil, mentally ill or not, and no sympathy should be given to her. She is NOT the victim here. All prayers for the brave, stunningly strong young woman who lost her life and that of her beautiful baby trying to protect her children.

Interesting how her story changes three times, to describe herself as a victim and then a saviour; from “she was attacking me” to “she was beating herself up to frame me” to “she said she was dying and to save her baby by cutting her open”. All mixed in with a lot of “I don’t know what happened” statements.
i mean it all could have happened they attacked each other, taylor was stronger than her, but she didn't want to admit defeat cause she absolutely hates taylor, so she tried to frame her while dying as a last act of revenge thing, then taylor took the baby

I'm thinking the conversation went like this... That her friend or the woman she knew.. Invited her over. She friend seen the baby bulge or seen her changing into it.. When she confronted her, the woman got all crazy, but the woman only grabbed the knife if she did to protect her baby and her three year old. Any pregnant momma would. She probably said “I'll kill ya if you touch me again and told her to leave” and then when pushed her and got on her and attacked her... Taking the baby was her motivation. There’s something really interesting (and dark and disturbing) about the psychology of wanting children, and the lengths a desperate person will go in order to get one. This isn’t exclusive to humans. Even penguins lose their minds when they lose their eggs, and will try to steal another penguin’s egg in grief and despair. Although Taylor’s situation isn’t about coping with the loss of another pregnancy. I’m using the penguins purely as an example of how desperation for a child affects judgment. There have been people who steal babies from a hospital, cut a baby out of another woman’s womb, snatch a child from a public place, etc… so they can have a baby of their own. I’m gonna guess that Taylor’s hysterectomy messed with her mind, and her failure to cope with her inability to have more children warped her mind and led to this. It doesn’t excuse her actions at all, but it makes the crime comprehensible, and not a baffling mystery.

To the people commenting about the ER doctor having a popsicle, people who work in healthcare often have only a limited time to react to tragic or horrifying events. Then we have to hold ourselves together in any way we can and help care for our other patients. The fight against illness, pain, and death won't stop just for one horrifying event even if the staff DO want to mourn. The only thing we can do is to continue our work and then let out our emotions either on breaks or at home. I've been part of some difficult cases but I normally try to eat some sugar and keep myself going until I can go home and cry or sit for a bit just processing. Then we still have to go to work the next day and continue our fight to save lives. Jobs like healthcare, fire department, police, EMTs, etc have to cope in whatever ways they can. Let the man have his popsicle if that's how he fuels himself to continue his 12-24 hour shift.

However, that extent this killer went to is insane. There are plenty of children needing good homes in foster care and waiting to be adopted. This is just downright disgusting and heartbreaking.

Taylor was diagnosed a pathological liar. She was also very jealous that her boyfriend’s sister was actually pregnant and all the attention was going to her. She even told her that she “should put her baby in an incubator” so that she can have the baby first. Taylor lied about having MS, being a nurse, being a heiress, being head of HR at a hospital. Basically she loved the attention. To the two children she already had she constantly left them with friends and neighbors. So this wasn’t about being a mother. This was pure evil trying to keep up with her lies. Stephanie soo from the rotten mango podcast gives such a great analysis of how this vile woman came to kill two lives. Disgusting what she did.

My biological sister and I were adopted (after 3 years of jumping around foster homes) by a couple that was thought they were infertile. I now have a 4yo brother who is an angel. It makes me disgusted what people will do in desperation when all humanity leaves.
If you’re wondering my (adoptive) mother was unable to get pregnant because her body was unable to absorb some vitamin that is required to keep pregnancies. She was able to get pregnant a few times, but miscarried before any signs showed. Got a supplement and had a textbook perfect pregnancy and delivery.

This is heart wrenching! Have people never heard of adoption?? There are sooo many beautiful children who need good loving parents.
You do know how much you have to go through to be able to adopt and how expensive it is right not anyone can just adopt you have to prove you are able to support the child that you are mentally stable have other supports and it costs thousands to 10s of thousands of dollars and takes years sometimes to get accepted after filing adoption papers and I highly doubt someone like this has the money job or mental stability to be able to adopt let alone be able to even fill out and file the paperwork with an adoption agency also adopting an infant is even harder its faster to adopt like a 6 7 8 year old from a foster home than a newborn infant so yes adoption exists but you cant just go to an agency and walk out with a baby in the same week

It wouldn't make it acceptable, obviously, but I could at least sympathize if she was unable to have kids at all, really wanted one, and ended up having a breakdown and doing something tragic in a manic episode or something. However, having 2 kids already that you barely look after, and doing what she did? Just negates any sense of sympathy I could have had.

My mother is dead ass just like this evil witch and although I’m not on drugs or anything like that I still didn’t turn out so great. I literally fear everything and just about everyone. And it didn’t effect me at all until after the birth of my second daughter combine with the pandemic. I just turned inside myself and have stayed at home bc my brain plays out the worst case scenarios… so I keep everyone in my house and myself as close as possible so those “worst case scenarios” don’t have a chance of happening. Mothers can be just like anyone else, absolute evil. So I COMPLETELY feel for all of these babies in this case.
But the husband had to know if she really wasn’t pregnant he would’ve known she had a hysterectomy. Why didn’t he realize there was a big issue when she said she was pregnant after a hysterectomy and even had a gender reveal… she needed help. I never realized EWU had released this video, this lady was at our house for a crawfish broil we had a few years before this happened. I was still young and don’t really remember her at all but I definitely remember that face, she seemed pretty normal and seemed to be happy with the guy she was with at the time. When my mom told me about this I was just shocked.
I’m an old detective and I teach interview. This detective did an excellent job. He read her personality and mental status. He never crossed the line. He was never over the top. He was working with little information that was still coming in. A true professional.

She convinced him she was inheriting millions of dollars and got him in so much debt by telling him she would pay it all off when the money. It was all a lie. That doctor isn't a real experienced or smart doctor, these events is nothing more than human activity (what they study about). While pregnant with all 3 of my children I was hyper-vigilant about someone doing this thing to me. Some people thought I was paranoid. The first time I heard of this happening was in the '80s and it horrified me. I didn't care that people thought I was paranoid with all 3 of my pregnancies. I kept my head on a swivel. My heart breaks for Reagan, her precious baby girl, her husband, and her family.

Okay I was so stunned by this case I looked it up, and honestly wish I hadn’t because the details are so horrific I can’t even grasp them fully, but I wanted to comment here so everyone understands the situation and what the victim went through. Before hand I want to say if I upset anyone with the details because they are graphic and horrible, I. Sorry, so I’m letting you know before you read this.
The killer had a hysterectomy because she had a tubal pregnancy thus she was unable to have more children herself. Her boyfriend was leaving her so for almost ten months…and I don’t know how she managed it…she did extensive research and effort to convince everyone she was pregnant, even to faking photos of the baby in the womb, and a gender reveal party. How she pulled this off without her boyfriend or any relatives knowing confuses and shocks me but they were on the verse of breaking up so mak he they weren’t being intimate, no idea.
She KNEW the victim, was even somewhat a friend by accounts of the victim’s husband, so whether she had planned this the whole time to take this particular baby, I can’t say. But I can presume this was a premeditated plan to take the victim’s baby for months. The young woman herself who dies was only 21 years old and had a young 3 year old daughter who was with her when the attack occurred. Again, I’m sorry for the upsetting details but if you are wondering whether the killer should be pitied because she has to be mentally ill to have done this unspeakable act, you need to understand the premeditation that went into this. She had an animal sedative in her purse but she did not use it. Instead she stabbed the victim more than 100 times and crushed her skull with a hammer. This somehow did not render this poor young woman who was pregnant unconscious, instead she was then violently cut open and the uterus with the baby inside was forcefully ripped out of her body and she struggled so hard to keep her baby inside her that she was likely struck several more times while her finger nails broke off in her uterus trying to hold on to her baby and keep her baby inside her. Her three year old likely saw all of this. The victims placenta was also ripped and cut out of her body while she was concours and alive. The doctors were so upset when they described this they could barely speak on the stand. After this the victim was left to bleed out to death with her three year old toddler after literally being the most amazingly protective mother ever and fighting to her last breath to save her baby.
The killer then took the baby, who was unresponsive and not breathing due to the trauma, and the placenta, with her. She stuffed the placenta in her pants to try and fool doctors and authorities into believing she had given birth. The baby was bruised on her head and umbilical cord from being stuck in the womb and violently removed from it. The baby, who would ah e lived even though she was premature, had she been delivered by a normal C section in a hospital, died shortly later because of lack of oxygen and the blood loss her mother suffered during her being removed from the BACK of the uterus which is not where the uterus is cut to remove a child.
The killer may be mentally ill but she not only planned this nightmare beyond nightmares, she cared so little about the baby herself and the woman she murdered that she made their deaths as tortuous as possible and literally did not care that the baby died other than her plan failed and she lost her relationship. She is the definition of evil, mentally ill or not, and no sympathy should be given to her. She is NOT the victim here. All prayers for the brave, stunningly strong young woman who lost her life and that of her beautiful baby trying to protect her children.

I'm thinking the conversation went like this... That her friend or the woman she knew.. Invited her over. She friend seen the baby bulge or seen her changing into it.. When she confronted her, the woman got all crazy, but the woman only grabbed the knife if she did to protect her baby and her three year old. Any pregnant momma would. She probably said “I'll kill ya if you touch me again and told her to leave” and then when pushed her and got on her and attacked her... Taking the baby was her motivation.

There’s something really interesting (and dark and disturbing) about the psychology of wanting children, and the lengths a desperate person will go in order to get one. This isn’t exclusive to humans.
Even penguins lose their minds when they lose their eggs, and will try to steal another penguin’s egg in grief and despair. Although Taylor’s situation isn’t about coping with the loss of another pregnancy. I’m using the penguins purely as an example of how desperation for a child affects judgment.
There have been people who steal babies from a hospital, cut a baby out of another woman’s womb, snatch a child from a public place, etc… so they can have a baby of their own.
I’m gonna guess that Taylor’s hysterectomy messed with her mind, and her failure to cope with her inability to have more children warped her mind and led to this.
It doesn’t excuse her actions at all, but it makes the crime comprehensible, and not a baffling mystery.
As 7 months pregnant I am unable to even imagine the horror of the poor mum, let alone what in the world could possess anyone to do this.

Its unfathomable. I used to be an ob/gyn nurse. And watching the hurt women go through in a difficult pregnancy, but thankfully comes out okay this sickens me to my soul and past that. She tracked that poor woman up until her last trimester so she could pass off that baby as her own. I never wanted to physically hurt someone as much as I do that horrible excuse of a woman.But, despite all this gruesome things, please do not be afraid of becoming a mom. You sound very brave and strong. Safe rest of your pregnancy and safe labor for you and that sweet baby
