IF. Dogs don't just attack because they're hungry. If there was animal abuse or other crimes, they'll definitely press charges. In cases like this it takes time to build a case and to investigate and collect evidence. They need to know exactly what crimes the person committed and specifically who committed those crimes. Otherwise they can't get a conviction... and if they can't get a conviction, then they can't just arrest people. People have Rights and among those Rights is the Right to be presumed innocent until Proven guilty.

my son was ripped apart by a Pitt bull. He was bitten in the chest and wrist and his arm was ripped open. He went to surgery that night. The dog attacked 3 other times to different people; one time was the owner's son. My son got a bad infection and his arm had to be debrided and dead flesh cut away. This was totally unprovoked. He has ptsd. I do too after seeing him like that.. Crying and asking me over and over if he is going to die while i try to stop bleeding and holding him. I am tearing up now and feel sick to my stomach. I don't think my ptsd with ever stop. The owner wanted the dog to live but wisely the judge ordered it put down.

In the early 2000s as a paramedic I was called to a dog attack where the children of various Ages were being eaten by Pitbull Mastiffs. They had palm-sized chunks of skin gone down to Bone when they curled up in the fetal position to protect themselves, the dogs bit through their back and they were leaking urine from below their back ribs. The younger boy about eight or nine years old attempted to jump on top of a trampoline to get away from one of the dogs. The dog went underneath the trampoline ripped through the trampoline rip through his jeans rip through his scrotum. That was over 20 years ago, it was devastating when I came on seeing the police had already killed both of the dogs. I was never afraid of big dogs before that day. My dog is 9 lb.
If you had told me the children were attacked by a bear I would not have questioned it. It was devastating.

Thinking that we're the center of everything and exempt from the laws of mother nature is the most egotistical and delusional thing I've ever heard of and somehow people choose to believe it. @@BasedRedemption pitbulls are actually NOT inherently violent. No dogs are inherently violent. You cannot "breed agression" into the genes. The opposite is true, pitbulls are very sweet pets, before using them to fight in illegal rings and destroying their reputation, pitbulls were go-to dogs to leave with children. Cause they love children and they were considered dog nannies along with french bulldogs.
Its constant abuse, mistreatment and ill-directed training that causes the dogs to lash out. Theres lots and lots of abadoned pitties that were used in dog rings who under good care turn into the loveliest sweethearts. Theyre a completely domesticated species, no breed is INHERENTLY violet hurr de durr.
I dont support breeding any dogs outside of working dogs, farm dogs, etc who are healthy by default and the focus of breeding is their own mental focus to do the task. You can't breed agression but you can breed arthrisis, pitbulls like a lot of other bred dogs, unfortunately have a lot of functional problems. Its a breed we shouldnt cultivate because its not healthy for the dogs, its irresponsible, but we should respect the ones that are alive with us as theyre not any less deserving of love than other dogs.

When I was younger my little cousin was playing in the backyard in a mud puddle, and the next door neighbor's dog jumped three fences into our backyard and attacked him. I did not see or hear the actual attack, but when my uncle picked him up so that they could go to the hospital and his face came over his shoulder all bloody with his lip partially hanging off, I have this Crystal clear perfect memory of that and now I'm terrified of a barking dog, and I don't believe owners when they say that their dog is friendly. He does not remember it really at all, and there happened to be a plastic surgeon on call when they got to the hospital, who was able to repair his face so well that unless you knew it had happened and knew where the scars were supposed to be, you wouldn't even be able to see them.

@@pong9000are you serious ? The officers stated they were underfed, one of the females was caged in her own feces and freshly given birth to a pup. The house is clearly cluttered and the dogs were neglected. That’s no life for a dog. One thing that really stood out to me is the fact that they did their best, and the remaining animals were shown kindness. While everything is absolutely horrific with this situation, between the victim,(who had both of her legs and parts of her hands amputated) what the responding officers witnessed and had to do, what the neighbors now know of, what the son went through in panic... Responding services did their best, and part of it was finding a potential mama and feeding her before taking her away. Or being apprehensive but in a safe way that didn't result in panic that led to additional injury or death of the poor remaining dogs. Seeing the environment and putting things together to show sympathy for everyone.

@@suemoreno5217 I think she's just a woman who's passionate about her job, and chose the right field. She assessed the situation and afterwards even put down the spur-of-the-moment safety shield (the table) after realizing the mama dog wasn't aggressive. They weren't fed, and could tell she was very hungry due to the environment. Dogs are often very food motivated, and in that situation I believe that all of the dogs were hungry in that house, so it made it easier to get the dogs out safely when they realize the humans came with food and water. Plus, nowhere in the video did it say she was the original owner of the dogs; she just came to get the animals out safely. I think it's just important to recognize when people do a good job, and this whole situation could have gone a LOT worse if it weren't for the attitudes of the responding services that day.

These type of dogs remind me of kids. They need a structure, and they reflect your teachings (or lack thereof). I had 3 staffs, never told them nothing special. All I did was treat them right, they always behaved accordingly. These dogs are extremely dependent on not only a good care, but they need a good teacher - they don't need a guy that knows everything about dogs, but you have to know what you can't show or allow them to do.

For police officers: if you're on a scene and seeing parts--a heel, a portion of calf, skin, etc., ask peers to quickly bring you what you need to wrap a given part in a clean damp cloth, place it in a sealed plastic bag, then submerse in cold water. The cold reduces cell need for oxygen, keeping the tissues alive. Even shreds are occassionally useful...
You may not think much of "shreds" but a doctor can reattach muscle, bone, fats, etc. In some cases after they take measures to supply and wash the material--it's hard to impossible to regenerate or replace some things (muscle is just gone if you don't reattach) and good doctors will get creative when they are feeling up to try. The reattachment of tissues and lost parts (including an amputated heel!) is called "replantation"--get yourself and your peers in the habit so that if you're also jumped by dogs one day...
Here from the reports the legs couldn't be saved much less repaired but never think " itc# so bad it doesn't matter": if someone brings your doctor your own tissues they can use the material to patch up other damaged areas of your body!
