    As a Mason of 42 years, I can confirm they don't last. Mostly due to not replacing air filter regularly and wrong gas mix ratio. When ya have 8 different guys using it, this happens. That said, they are tough little Saws, and with proper maintenance will last a while. Just the nature of the beast. Nice video. 👍👍

    Clean Air Filter Clean Air Filter, Clean Air Filter, Clean Air Filter, Clean Air Filter, Clean Air Filter, any internal combustion engine that operates in a concrete dust environment needs to have the air cleaner serviced after every use....or just buy new saws monthly

      Or cut with water

    • @1bottlefed

      Agreed, using water is always the best option. However you should still clean air filter frequently.

    i just rebuilt mine with all new kit everything and on startup it smoked but i thought maybe for the oil i put on the piston and rings and head not much i let it run for 20-30 min at idle for breakin and it smokes badly on the rev up .......took it back apart to check the rings and head all looks good comp test at 87 -90 no leakdown after 10 min what do you think could be the issue

It’s not like coming all the way up .very hard to pull.when I trying to pull it hard it just doesn’t happen I’m suspecting of the bearing or the crank shaft .

    I used to sell Stihl and Partner concrete saws, and we didn't sell very many of them. The thing is, a saw like this makes a small business money, so it is the cost of doing business . Run 'me hard, and put'em up wet.

  • @bev1806
    @bev1806 13 лет назад

    I really think that crank is useable. The play side to side should not affect the crankshaft. Just bought a new crankshaft for my husky 372 and it has it. Put a new top end on and youve got yuorself a good saw. They make cheaper replacement ones on ebay just as good quality in my opinion.

  • @johnjunietify

    Donny, how deep would say that scratch in the cylinder was? How deep is too deep to hone? And the scratch i have is just below the intakes that run horizontally through the cylinder, at about the same level as the opening for the bottom boot. is this 'honeable'?

  • @johnjunietify
    @johnjunietify 12 лет назад

    So what is the difference between the $150 piston and cylinder assembly and the $320 one from the local Stihl dealer? Will Stihl offer the aftermarket as the $320 set up, or si there a difference in quality between the Stihl and the aftermarket parts? Do you use aftermarket or stihl?

    Dirt is what killed that saw, lack of filter maintenance. The rings wore in their grooves then started fluttering. Finally a piece broke off and that's what scored the top end. Worked on many Cutquilks and have seen it over and over again. Stihl is the best but they still need maintenance.
