Instead of modes like "Ghost Survivors" and "Resistance" Capcom should really put all their time and resources into extending the stories in these remakes. Throw far more surprises that weren't in the originals and stop CUTTING SHIT OUT from the originals!
This game should've been delayed to add in more content. I don't mind waiting another year for a more fleshed out game. So sad. A good game nonetheless, but disappointing.
@@blackcobra1981 It is trash, I agree. But all the Fortnite players are saying how great it is and even trashing the Original 3 resident evils....fucking kids.
@Phry3 I have absolutely zero problems with the length. It's that the game is so incredibly linear and scripted. The puzzles are painfully simple, it feels so dumbed down. The areas are too small and the enemies are a bit too easy to deal with. Not nearly as interesting as the ones in RE2 in terms of gameplay. And Nemesis? He was great! ... in the demo. No, seriously. The demo is the part of the game where Nemesis is present the most, the way he should be anyway. He's bigger. He can sprint. He can catch and pull you with his tentacle. His punches follow up. He can stun you with a roar. His grab is an instant kill. In every way he's superior to Mr X, except two: All of his encounters are scripted, and they are *way* too short. When he got the rocket launcher I was so happy he was getting an upgrade, but then it ended. Just like that. He doesn't chase you after that. They could have easily made more sequences where he stalks you, but instead they animated a bunch of cutscenes. Isn't that _more_ expensive than letting the player take the wheel? Edit: Ok, I tried Hardcore again, and it does feel a little better. Nemesis especially feels like Hardcore is his "normal" difficulty. He uppercutted me through a door 😂 This way it makes a little more sense to not have him hunt you so much, as it would make it too difficult and annoying, but I still think they should have squeezed in one more chase sequence, preferably one with his rocket launcher.
@@urokhai1270 No, but I tried Hardcore and it didn't enhance the experience very much. Just made it annoying how scarce ammo is. Maybe I need to give it another chance.
I feel like if they included puzzles and one more section the game would've been perfect. I knew when REsistence was announced as a free add on that RE3 would be incredibly short.
One major disappointment was that the Clock Tower that was in the og RE3 was not playable in remake. The Clock Tower was an iconic location in RE3 with puzzles. To not have it is a letdown.
Resident Evil 3 Remake had so much potential with Nemesis. I thought it was gonna be similar to Mr X except him with speed mode and higher tension. Disappointed but still satisfied with the game at the very least.
Edit: it actually blows my mind how they removed nemesis completely from the police station. It was a very stupid decision to put carlos there instead of jill.
People were complaining how after the initial encounters with mr x became annoying rather scary cause he was easy to run away from but would just get in the way while you had to do a puzzle.. so I think they cut nemesis’s hunting sections for that reason and made it super intense for a shorter time.
@@tonito_el_tigre but in reality this game was butchered from it's original core. So you get these results, yata yata yata they added content crap but this and that was okay. Good graphics lmfao like this game is supposed to be legendary don't you get it. Like this is trash to it's very standards. This could have been a masterpiece of its kind.
Gage Kleinknight facts. It wasn’t people’s favorite game of all time for no reason.. it holds up today so definitely could of been the new resident evil 4.. I still really enjoyed it and still have a lot of play time to squeeze out of it.
@David Hinkle but nemesis is Mr.X tyrant with parasites they're supposed to be the same but with parasites they gain some intelligent and ability to use weapons and ofcourse tentacles.
love both RE2 and RE3. I would describe RE2 like The last of us: slower paced with more survival horror and exploration while RE3 is more like uncharted: fast paced thrill ride. I admit it is short and there is cut content but it is a hell of a lot of fun.
I didn’t like how story wise nemesis had every opportunity to kill jill but......... doesn’t. He freezes up or throws her away like trash instead of idk crushing her head?
The most stupid part is ***SPOILERS*** when he infects her. So basically all he had to do since the beginning was infect her and she would've been done. Lol the game looks beautiful but is very poorly scripted.
Yeah, it sorta took me out of the game when he clearly had the upper-hand in multiple cut scenes to kill the protagonist - like full on fingers gripped around Jill's face contact - and then they have him stall. It makes you second guess if hes really competent or all that effective of a killing machine. But mostly its just cheap attempts to heighten the anxiety of the moment. There were probably better ways of depicting a struggle between him and Jill during the cinematics.
I thought titanfall 2 was worth 60 for it's campaign alone, honestly not all games have to be super long. Saying 5 hours of exhilaration isn't worth $60 is like saying you should never go to Universal or Disney which is like $100 for 8 hours (that you can't replay.)
[Spoilers] I didn't like how nemesis was holding back after the first encounter as soon as he stopped being bipedal and smaller he just felt like a oversized licker
@@AllThings_Gaming-c1m yeah like he would hold her head in his hand dead to right like how he would give the zombies parasites but uh...he would throw her just outta range of his 1 handed flamethrower...
Nemesis transformation was incredibly disappointing, to be honest. I mean, INCREDIBLY. We didn't see him enough in "normal" mode, where he was gazillion times more badass than he was in that licker like creature form. In that form, he kinda lost his character. I wouldn't mind a bit if Nemesis retained his normal form throughout the entire game.
Love how you get to see what happened to Marvin and the 2 officers that you find dead in re2, graphics are beautiful and really enjoyed the first section where you have to escape town. Length of it made me sad because it ended so quickly If nemesis was a constant threat and didn’t just force you to progress it’d be so so much harder. He can run, jump miles, hurt you even when down, and infect zombies. It’s be so stressful Should’ve just increased the length and I would’ve liked it so much more
I completed the game in a day and a half. It's hell of a short. There's even an achievement for completing the game in under two hours. Good while it lasts though
@@franklinofgreyskull738 RE2 also has a achievement for finishing in under 2 hours. It's one of the requirements for unlocking the rocket launcher. So campaign wise they are the same length.
@@franklinofgreyskull738 Every single RE has you beat it under 2 hours for the infinite rocket launcher (tho it's not exactly the time, but the rank you get for your playthrough)
@Mando it's not a bad game because it's short, but it is massively disappointing for a multitude of reasons, the length is just one of the main things. While all resi games are short, the problem with re3r in terms of its length isn't that it's short, it feels short. You usually dont notice the length like here.
@Mando and we're talking about a $60 game, but the problem here is that with the other problems on top of the length issues, it legit doesn't feel like it's worth $60. It feels like it should've been a $30-$35 expansion for re2r
@@jaketheberge1970 The Clocktower and the park sections as well as live selections (situations where your forced to make a choice think along the lines of Until Dawn but in a RE game basically)...
@Jake Theberge *These are some of the most prominent examples of cuts I can think of at the moment, from the reviews and gameplay footage I have seen, if you want:* 1.) The entire segment where you explored the interior of the clocktower, which many players thought offered a nice change of pace after the Raccoon City streets and could have looked neat in the new RE engine. 2.) There is no singleplayer bonus minigame akin to Mercenaries: Operation Mad Jackal, unless Capcom plans to release free DLC like Ghost Survivors in RE2 Remake. 3.) There is a reduced variety of boss creatures, even if the overall quantity of mandatory boss encounters are the same (since the Gravediggers and Nemesis actively chasing you in second half are both cut, seemingly in favor of Nemesis transforming earlier and fighting you more in those non-human forms). 4.) Exploration in general seems dumbed down, with far fewer puzzles, inability to backtrack to early city areas like Dario’s safe house, and a lack of live-selections allowing you to approach certain areas in branching paths (to be fair, though, at least the randomization mechanics in original are sort of replaced by new difficulty modes that rearrange items/enemies, plus there are new interactive cutscenes to serve some of the other purposes that the live-selection had in original, like making Jill use a vehicle to attack Nemesis). 5.) You no longer get to have two separate endings, and Capcom arguably went with the weaker of the two endings. *As far as changes go, where it depends more on personal preference, here are some examples:* 1.) In terms of basic enemies, the Drain Deimos, Sliding Worms, Infected Crows, and Giant Spiders are replaced with Lickers, Pale Heads, Parasite Zombies, and more unique Hunter Gammas. Plus, the Drain Deimos are radically redesigned. 2.) Carlos explores the RPD instead of Jill. 3.) The gun powder system for crafting handgun, shotgun, magnum, and three of the grenade rounds are now very different. Plus, the freeze rounds and enhanced handgun/shotgun ammo are cut, possibly in favor of more basic weapon upgrades. The mines are now an alternate grenade launcher ammo type, rather than ammo for a separate mine thrower gun. I think the reloading tool is now an optional bonus item you can put in your inventory to increase the amount of bullets you can craft from gunpowder, rather than a mandatory component of crafting. 4.) You enter the Umbrella facility through an underground passage in Hospital, rather than through the Raccoon Park. So the Hospital is larger while the Raccoon Park is smaller and now an optional side area.
Took me just around 4 hours, first blind play through. I preordered it in December, just because how excellent re2 remake was. It’s a good game, but not worth 60. Maybe 30-40. Especially since there is no mercenaries mode.
@@medjrikais2419 $60 for FF7Remake and it isn't even the full game apparently, so I don't see how that's any better. Not defending RE3R, and I also bought RE2R at a heavy discount, but FF7 is gonna be a wait-to-buy for sure.
? Identical? The original was amazing. This one not so much. The original had a more open world explore feel to it. This was one like a line hallway with a few doors
@@thegreatgeekdetective6925 You ought to go back and play the original if you think it felt like an open world. As for my use of the word "identical", I said that in regards to the game's reception. Reviews and general attitude towards both games have been very similar.
TheGreatGeekDetective He’s right. This game is being received almost exactly like the original RE3. In no way did people feel like RE3 was amazing. They only felt that way in retrospect. In reality the game was viewed as a disappointment and too similar to RE2.
RE 8 is coming out next year so they had to make a choice: Cut 2 hours of gameplay and release it now, or give us the whole thing in 2022. I wish they had chosen the latter, but you know how shareholders are. I reckon the devs are just as unhappy.
Actually no, from what i heard they did not cut anything from the game, this was the intended product, ie they did not rush it. Then again this is not a campcom game is an M-two game, and it shows.
I saw a comment on another video saying they even managed to remake the bad reviews from the 1999 game; people saying it's too short and just feels like an add-on to RE2.
Besides the Short Deadline, I've seen and read some complaints from other gamers saying that they were too afraid and annoyed of Mr.X. So just a guess, but they probably thought that Nemi may end up being too much for us thus the tone down of Badass Nemi.
Its a dead by daylight type multiplayer game where 4 players have to escape a zone and 1 is a mastermind who watches them through cameras and spawns traps and enemies and can directly control them too. It comes as a separate game along with the RE3. I didnt like it because of dodgy frame rates and very sloppy texture clipping. It all lacks the polish RE2 and 3 have. And theres RPG elements such as damage indicators.
It wishes it was dead by daylight. You can just drop random monsters straight on top of players, but most of the time they destroy any and all enemies you put against them. Even Mr X can get bullied by players, since they can stagger him easily, and they calculate damage and health more like an RPG, than a resident evil game. Where you hit them, and floating numbers show how much damage you did, but 2 Mr X punches aren't even enough to put someone in yellow. Honestly it's really bad. Would of been great if it was a free to play game, but with how RE3 feels short, and unfinished, it feels more like including it with RE3 only made re3's development suffer heavily. Also, you can pay real money for xp boosters.
Trojianmaru What? You can bully a bad Mr. X / Mastermind. It’s surprisingly balanced, or it seems right now. Mr. X can win the game if you’re good at it.
It would have been great if you were able to play it for yourself in the beta, as shitty of a beta it was. I really like it personally. And since I played it quite a bit so far, I can say that if one side doesn't know the game well they will be stomped on easily. But a good Mastermind vs good survivors is a tough match. I also finished RE3 Remake, so the whole package is very worth it to me.
I platinumed it earlier today and I have to say that this is a pretty damn good game. And I personally believe that playing it to get all of the trophies is the best way to play it.
MagicJaycee I actually played RE2 for the first time just after commenting this, and platinumed it also just yesterday. And I have to say that I do understand the disappointment surrounding RE3. It’s lacking most of the story and the game doesn’t even have extra content, costumes, etc. You play it and that’s it. But with RE2 you can go back and play different scenarios, unlock costumes, and even unlock hidden survivor modes. Almost in every way, RE2 is better.
@@crimsonsky3440 Exactly! RE2 is a more horror game than RE3. What I like about RE2 the gore is very realistic and the zombies react to the environment when you put them down and MR. X is still more scarier than Nemesis. I always think of Nemesis as a Xenomorph alien in disguise nothing more. I got the Platinum in March 2019 and its way harder. Re3 I platinum it like 3 days after it got released. RE2 took me a month to platinum I'm not kidding, mind you. They also said that the team who made RE2 is different to the ones who made RE3. So I guess thats why. Let this be a lesson learned so that it will not happen again in future remakes.
MagicJaycee You couldn’t be more on point honestly. I like Nemesis but when compared to MR. X he just falls flat. His design, and clothing and even his walk is intimidating. And I love that they didn’t give him any new abilities, his attacks are still the same and I love that, but he definitely is a lot faster depending on the difficulty.
they could’ve done more with this game. i felt like the game was a slight downgrade from the re2 remake. i wish i would’ve waited to buy the game at a lower price. fun game but not worth the $60 ish dollars.
Remember what they said Nemesis was gonna feel like? It practically sounded like Mister X on steroids but it feels like he was more of a scripted character here
Seeing that review then yeah it seems mr x was better as a scary figure. I mean after you learn some tricks on how to avoid him from personal experience and from the internet he is manageable but he still remains an annoying thorn that can spawn at many unfortunate moments to slow you down or even get you into deep trouble if he isn't alone. Nemesis doesn't seem as such a problem as mr x was.
Hamza Orakzai yes i agree nemesis was not scary at all. I just found him really badass. Every time he showed up I was oh shit it’s mr. savage. I started laughing when he pulled out the rocket launcher
Man sooooo many people were overhyping Nemesis after Re2Remake "You think Mr.X is scary? Wait till you see Nemesis" "Imagine Mr.X using weapons and he's running at you" As impressive as Nemesis is, I do agree with what Jeremy said here. The mostly unscripted encounters with Mr X is far more exciting than what we got with Nemesis in this game. This is from a guy who wasnt a big fan of the original 3. After last year's remake, I knew I'd prefer a Code Veronica remake instead. And now, I still do. I'm hoping Capcom is turning that into their next game, or at least a dlc... But based on recent news, I know it's not gonna happen
Give us the director's cut of RESIDENT EVIL 3 including all the cut contents. I really enjoyed it, but it was a bit of disappointing that we couldn't be able to explore into Clock Tower like an original RE3 did. Oh well.
Exactly what I am saying they should remake this game again and completely bring everything back from the original into the remake and they better do it or capcom is going to get alot of endless hate.
I just found it hilarious that Remake MrX Plays like the original RE3 Nemesis, where he follows you between rooms and relentless chases. While Remake Nemesis plays like original Mr X, only showing up in instanced scenarios where he disappears when the area is left. LMAO just hilarious to me is all.
Nemesis is a fookin BRUTE in this game and I think the reason why he only appears at specific times is because they wanted to make him viciously aggressive. Mr. X was slow and that’s how they could make him chase you the whole game. Nemesis WILL kill you fast and so they couldn’t have him chase you the whole game. IMO
Yeah agreed. If he was around the whole time it would become frustrating as fuck since he's so powerful. If they wanted Nemesis to be around the whole game they would have had to nerf him to Mr X levels, at which point you're just doing Mr X again so why bother.
I hate mister X. I like to explore and open all the door, he was annoying. I run out of ammo constantly, nemesis worked like mister x and nemesis from the original games, were they got activated after you pick certain items. Definitely the game was too short.
Everything Jeremy said is legit everything I thought. Great game but it's so short, there's even an achievement to beat it in 2 hrs. But I had loads of fun with it, just wish it was longer and yes Mr. X felt more threatening then Nemesis. RE2 gave me serious Alien Isolation vibes.
@@DarkAttackYT Oh I agree with you totally on the Nemesis part and on Alien Isolation, that game scared the hell outta me before the Alien even appeared. What I was getting at is after a while Nemesis just felt more like a nuisance. Where as in RE2 I feel Mr. X had a much more threatening presence, that's why I compared him to the Xeno. He's constantly roaming, you can hear him and not see him which in horror I think is very effective, and he doesn't die until a cutscene in the game. I felt that with Mr. X there was a constant feeling of fear and dread, whereas with Nemesis it's like "bro get a life"😂😂
@@Hectorlo Probably yeah but I think that says something about the overall length of the campaign as well. But personally I'm always looking for extra shit in games so it always takes me for-fucking-ever to beat a campaign. I'm that person that's almost always backtracking if I saw something or think there might be something somewhere.
I really loved the game. Only down side is...i wanted more. Too short. Nightmare mode switches things up. This i really liked. Including all unlocktables. Great to play as Jill again 2.
Exactly! The hate the game is getting is beyond ridiculous. Game is as short as RE2 imo. A and B scenarios in RE2 were basically the same with different doors already opened and items located in different places. Shit RE3 has even more unlockables than RE2 and you're not forced to play on hardcore mode to unlock a good infinite weapon!
Good concise detailed review jeremy. Can't wait for the Ff7 remake review. Also, you should absolutely do more game reviews even after covid fucks off.
Welp, the original re3 game was quick too.. lol XD Tbh, it was always shorter compared to re2 in the original ps1. Also that we played as Jill more and only played Carlos a bit. Ya they removed the clock tower(ugh spiders......), Would of been nice to see if Nemesis could climb that ladder all the way up without breaking. I hated the last part of the original because of the water specimen puzzle of Hell... Seriously, who wants that in the remake? 😒 But ya, I did feel the quick cash on after re2 remake. I'm still waiting for them to remake Code Veronica and Outbreak Files. I've heard they're planning on remaking re4... But why?!!!! :O
I wish if they do another remake it needs to be code Veronica. So many fans seem to overlook code Veronica, but it’s actually a great game in the series and I’d love to see it remade at some point. Now re4 on the other hand does not need to be remade and it’s a gem the way it is
And the chimeras Re2 had alot of shit cut as well nothing as iconic as the missing parts of 3 though. I think Re2 is better all together but Re3 feels and looks better to play. Not to mention 3 has the best boss fights since Re7 I didn't care much for the Birkin fights except stage 3 G.
@@TheNightWolf-WildCraft Outside Joe DLC the only boss I liked in 7 was Marguerite. Resi7 overall was more on-rails than these other games and lack of enemy variety hurt its replayability. Also another cut monster in 2 was the giant moth.

@@crispykid09 I know it is, and that's a shame because I did like what was there, I enjoyed my time. I think they wanted people to spend the same number of hours in Resistance, but who can tell at this point.
Straight up love this game. I can see where Jeremy's coming from, but it works. It's a combination of the original 3 and the re2 remake. The original 3 was shorter. The only thing I do complain about a bit is I wanted more of first stage NEMESIS just chasing you.
Dude the original was longer than 4 hours the campaign was minimum 6 hours + Mercenaries + replay-ability + cut content I was getting the impression that cause it was a remake it would have a bigger campaign mode and have you play as both Jill and Carlos in different Scenarios as it would be different to see Carlos working with umbrellas
It's good if you only play it once. But if you play it again... the facade starts to crack and you realize how much of an on rails theme park this remake is.
@@avengeddecay2360 the game definitely should have been longer I wanted it to last forever, it should have kept mercenaries and choices to change the story around and a few other things... but you are REEEEAAACCCHING saying that the old campaign was 6 hours minimum lmao smh people have beat that shit in under an hour and thats with door opening loading screens, the length of the two really isn't all that different.
BigBoss if your speed running it then yes if you are a scavenger and want to pick up every item in the game most say it’s 6 hours it took me 8 hours cause nemesis was more dedicated to chase the player
@@avengeddecay2360 look I'm not hatin man but scavenging and picking up every item and "minimum" are counter-intuitive. I'm just saying the length of a playthrough isnt really that much of a stretch between the two.
I chose to watch Jeremy's review instead of going to IGN or any other channel, that has been bought and paid for and I believe that says something; as to how good his reviews really are. also I feel like this current console generation, PS4 has literally just become my resident Evil machine and I loved every minute of it.
Hey Jeremy you haven't reviewed the last 2 seasons of Star Wars Rebels :) Wondering what's your opinion on it... As a fan of the lore I love it more than the sequels tbh ^^
SPOILERS I thought everything about this game was incredible from a presentation standpoint. The graphics are GORGEOUS, Jill and Carlos look amazing, the voice acting is great (I specifically love the cut scene where Nicholai shoots that man in the garage, Jill’s reaction is awesome). But I don’t like how Nemesis doesn’t feel like a constant force to be reckoned with. At one point I straight up forgot he was in the game, which doesn’t do him or the concept of the game justice. Another thing that bothered me is that he doesn’t even get to kill Brad, or anyone other than Tyrell for that matter. He’s the STARS killer, and he only kills one guy, that works for Umbrella. He just didn’t feel like much of a threat, especially when he just turned into a Bloodborne boss wannabe for the second half of the game. It’s just so glaringly obvious they rushed this game to meet a deadline, and included Resistance to try to make up for a short ass campaign. But Resistance is very mediocre. I miss Mercenaries mode. There is so much in this game I love, but if they added 2 more zones, and maybe one more section where you play as Carlos, it would be much much better. I give it a 6/10. I was on the hype train for this game from the moment they announced the 2 remake, so I’m really bummed how this one turned out.
the game is paced kinda weirdly, too, feels like some sections have been cut and the rest of the game was awkwardly stitched together to cover it up. There's at least 2 moments in the game where you go directly for the boss with no gameplay levels in between. [spoliers] you take control of Jill after Carlos's RPD level, and it's straight to a Nemesis boss fight - they could've had a short section of gameplay on the waterway/park leading up to it. Same goes for the end of the game - you beat Nemesis stage 2, you go to a safe room, and you immediately fight the final boss - Nemesis stage 3. They could've had a section of corridors and zombies there as well (maybe the clock tower somehow?), it feels awkward jumping from one boss encounter to the other with nothing in between, especially when the game is this low on content. I feel like putting mercenaries in probably wouldn't be that much work, either - use maps from resistance, spawn some zombies randomly, get some basic rules of the encounters, and you're good. You wouldn't even need 10 playable characters at launch, get Jill, Carlos, Leon, Ada, and Clarie since they already got all the combat animations (just add the dash to RE2 characters), and maybe put some more characters and maps as DLC later on.
Killing Brad was such a big introduction for the monster awwww damn. I think I'm gonna nostalgia play the original RE3 and wait til this one is cracked. Sue me.
The Witcher 3 is amazing, but that’s a one-hundred hour monster of a game. I guess he has the time with the quarantine, but that’s still a big undertaking.
The original RE3 was my favorite of the RE series, and I've really been enjoying this one as well. It's definitely short, but I'm also really having fun. I have to agree that if you aren't a huge RE3 fan, you should probably wait for a sale. I don't miss the clock tower map, however, as I have pretty severe arachnophobia, so taking out a level filled with giant realistic spiders is something I'm not going to lose any sleep over. I think if they had Mercenaries Mode from the original or Ghost Survivors from RE2: Remake, the criticism would be a lot less.
I think that they made nemesis a good Villian for specifically this game and how short it was, you didn’t spend too much time walking around outside and because it’s so short there isn’t rlly a chance for him to be a constant threat. So for him to be so overpowered during the moments where his is chasing you I think was a way to make up for not making like Mr X and having the game rlly short
Thanks man your reviews are awesome, the original is one of my favorite games of all time, so i've been watching plenty of reviews, and still i had to see yours, you always get to the point, give objective arguments and are pretty direct. That's grat!
I think that one of the reasons this game feels so much shorter than RE 2 is that in this one you spent so much less time exploring/puzzle solving. In the last game, the RPD station was essentially one giant puzzle, wherein you had to solve several smaller puzzles to advance to the next one. And it kinda had a Dark Souls, labyrinthine vib to it. You got to know the station so well, and knew which routes where quicker and which were dangerous (I still have nightmares about the west corridor). And while I would say that this could count as padding, it is enjoyable padding. Slowly discovering and maping out the station was a slow burn joy. RE 3 by contrast does not have as much map-puzzles. It is much more direct: Go here, and go here. So I really liked this game, but I do wish they had of applied the whole RPD station scheme to the whole city. But I think that if you were to run through RE 2 already knowing where to go and exactly what to do you could probably get through it pretty quickly. Probably well within 7 hours actually. So I think RE 3 while shorter, it is more streamlined. Whether that is a good or a bad thing is up to you however.
i think my first playthrough of RE2 was like 8 hours. I spent a lot of time just looking around. 100 times later I do all of them in about an hour and 15 minutes so RE# didn't feel so short to me. I hope they do a ghost survivor equivalent.
I'm 5 and a half hrs in and just got to the part where Carlos has to hold off the zombies in the hospital lobby while waiting for the shutters to close on the windows. Not sure how much is left after but Ive been taking my time so idk. It's shorter for sure but it's not a huge negative for me.
I like that he actually knows what he is talking about and not just repeating shit other people have been saying all over the Internet. That makes him trustworthy and that's a beautiful character trait. :)
Rookie Travel Diaries Ironic because he’s doing just that, repeating what everybody else is saying despite it being untrue or misinterpreted. Everyone says the game is short...but if you actually checked the length of the RE3 Remake and compared it to the ACTUAL length of the RE2 Remake OR the original RE3, they’re VERY SIMILAR IN LENGTH! The RE2 Remake can be completed in under 1 hour without cheating! This video is on RUclips and has the Capcom devs reacting to it. Even the original RE3 is short as hell but no ones bitching because it has many different “areas”. Well then THAT should be the complaint then, not length! And then there’s people who say that the RE2 Remake has multiple characters so it has more replay value. BS! Leon and Claire’s campaign are VERY similar minus the Sherry and Ada section not to mention there’s only 3 difficulty settings... in RE3 Remake at least there’s 5 difficulty settings and the later 2 difficulties actually increase the challenge immensely unlike the RE2 Remake while adding extra enemies and moving items around. Sure the RE2 Remake does this as well on the second run but it limits the gameplay with the lack of difficulty settings! All in all, I think it’s very similar in length and people just don’t notice! The RE2 Remake really only has 3 main areas to explore... the RPD, the sewers, and the lab. While the RE3 Remake has the city streets, the RPD, the sewers, the hospital and the lab too! That’s 2 extra areas and people complain about the RE3 Remake when the RE2 Remake has less overall areas to explore! Absolute nonsense.
@@Mr.Honest247 I don't know about how bullshit all these reviews are. Reviews are subjective by nature anyway. But the hour-long run that you mentioned, are you sure it's not a speed run you are referring to because those things are supposed to be short... that's why they are called speed runs. Devs reacting to it sorta makes it even more obvious that it's impressive and not easily achievable. In terms of gameplay, adding difficult levels doesn't add on to the overall length of the game. It's extends your experience, sure. But length, I am not so sure about that. I don't think anyone's complaining about the areas to explore in RE3. Again, it's just the matter of how long you stay into the story and most of them felt it wasn't worth releasing it as a standalone game. They either released it too soon or removed some parts in order to release them later as DLCs. I don't know, man. I am not here to defend the game. I was just impressed by the genuinity of the way he delivers his reviews... not just this one, mind you. Rather most of his reviews sounds honest and based on first-hand experience. Gotta give credit where it's due 🙂
I personally loved the game! I really enjoyed the story it was a new perspective on a 20 year old game and it felt fresh..love jill, carlos, and nemesis design i thought they looked great. Loved the different nemesis forms My biggest complaint with this game is that yes its short my first play through was about 4 and a half hours and also icdid not agree with them cutting areas like the clock tower or the grave digger fight but appriciated the power station expansion as well as the hospital and lab expansion. I like how they encouraged replayability by offering the unlockable difficulty modes which were challenging but felt that they were lacking on costumes and new game plus items. Overall i really enjoyed playing it and icwould give this game an 8.5/10
@@MaxPaynefan1 Fair enough. I don't know why exactly, but I always take a long ass time to finish RE games compared to most other people. :p I think my first playthrough of RE 2 took me some 11 hours in Hardcore, while most people seemed to be done with it in 7-8 hours, or even less.
YES! Finally JJ reviewed RE3! No wonder they got an add on RE Resistance, tbh they should have just added or called it Outbreak Online would have been a good selling point. I can agree get this on a sale, I can breeze through the game and avoid Nemesis, the only cheap BOW's here are the hunters with their one hit throat slit. Sadly as well Nem's is only in scripted areas after you leave that certain area he's gone like the ones with the Gamma hunters would have been great if he was there hunting you then suddenly pops up outta nowhere for the burning building boss fight.
I enjoyed it. Yeah, the shortness is a bit of a bummer, but there were hardly any dull moments. You were always in action or about to be in action, especially in the hospital when they bring in our favorite green agile af friends. I enjoyed how they improved upon some monsters and updated their looks to make them more frightening/menacing. I’m okay with dropping the money due to being in quarantine and being bored out of my mind.
Would have been interesting if they started the game earlier and had us watch the slow fall of Racoon City instead of "Jill wakes up and zombies are everywhere, somehow".
I enjoyed the game a lot, but it's definitely overpriced considering how quickly it can be beaten. Took me 10 hours for 2 playthroughs. I would have rather that they fleshed out the campaign a little more instead of adding the multiplayer mode.
They missed a trick by leaving out certain central areas from the original. It is a great game though, but like the PS version, it is not a patch on RE2. I hope they redo Code Veronica next, and leave RE4 alone !!
Most successful RE games are Action and "dudebro", Re6 problems is not that, it's just a lower quality game, it has nothing to do with action or ...(more like mechanics,Design, levels)
@@hoomanrasouli1851 Facts man you expect it to have action in it considering your dealing with folks who work in special tactics, outside of his charisma and dialogue Wesker's such a great villain because he's the ultimate badass in cqc.
I agree with everything you said 100% I beat the game yesturday in 6 hours as well and I thought it felt too short and I didn't like that they charged 60 dollars for a game that felt like it was only worth 20.
Started it on Friday, got the platinum today(Monday), and i wasn't even playing all the time (work, gf, finished watching altered carbon, watched new episodes of better call saul & westworld, etc). You need like 5 playthroughs for the platinum, but my final run on inferno (with infinite rocket launcher and other upgrades)took me 1:44, so It's definitely a short game. Unfortunately it also has less content than RE2 remake - no extra scenarios, no 4th/tofu survivor, no extra episodes with Kendo and co., also there's no mercenaries (the mode was introduced in the OG RE3, btw). If you're not into trophies, or trying the game out on harder difficulties, you're gonna be done with RE3 remake in 2 evenings. And the game feels like a step back from RE2 remake in gameplay, too - no dismemberment or physics on the zombies, Nemesis isn't roaming about like Mr.X did, and all the locations feel somehow smaller than the RPD - It's just a bunch of corridors stitched together. I honestly don't know if I could recommend it at full price, i preordered it on PSN and it was $50 back then, but if they won't at least update the game with mercenaries or some mini episodes, like they did with RE2, it's a hard sell.
I agree wholeheartedly with what you said in this video. Even though I bought the game pre-order on Steam and I blew through it in 2 days I feel that the quality is definitely there but for Perfect Price Point versus content of 40 bucks
Jeremy: You knew Mister X was coming because you could hear his footsteps. Actually, I could hear both his footsteps and mix tape playing in the background too. Oh it's just me? Alright then. (X GON GIVE IT TO YA!)
What you mean good and intense? Ok I like the starring Leon and ada wong movie but the sequel with chris was awful. Rebecca in wedding dress was quite eye candy though
@@echo2413 true but there was scenario B, and you could play trough both scenarios with 2 different characters, with that in mind there is 4x more gameplay in RE2.
i agree completely and just want to add that lack of puzzles is just unforgivable in resident evil game, shame cause i really had high hopes for this one to expand on already short(er) original re3 and they made it even shorter
The game was pretty good but it started going back to action and too many cut scenes already. Not to mention the physics felt cheap compared to the 2 remake. Limbs couldn’t be shot off. This game should have been better graphically than 2 in every way but it wasn’t. I don’t mind that some areas were cut. What bothered me is that capcom is already going back to action. The game did not feel scary at all compared to 2. I could also kill every enemy with no problem and never run out of ammo. It was a decent game but not nearly as good as 2. You can tell they put a lot more care into 2.
@@cipur11 no. You unlock nightmare mode after you beat hardcore mode, and inferno mode after you beat nightmare mode. Aka, hard mode, harder mode, hardest mode. There's no stuff like survivors mode, and the only NG+ you really get, is points earned from achievements, that you can spend on buying Jill's RE1 outfit, unlimited Ammo handgun (that can't use the upgrades you get for the starter pistol), unlimited Ammo assault rifle (again, no upgrades), an unlimited Ammo bazooka, a weird gun that acts like an unlimited Ammo magnum, but only does damage if you hit a weak point, and has a 5 second charge after every shot, a fire knife, and Jill's original pistol, the samurai edge (again, no upgrades). You can also get 2 coins that increase hp regen, 2 coins that increase defense, 2 coins that increase damage, a book that increases the window to make perfect dodges, 4 extra inventory slots from the start (not allowed on Assisted) and the lockpick and bolt cutters from the start. Honestly, none of it is worth it. I always had shed loads of Ammo for all my guns, so infinite Ammo wasn't that useful, and unlike in Re2, where you could blow limbs off, and they kept coming, the zombies in RE3 die really easy. I've permanently killed them while aiming only at a limb. And to get everything in the store, you need to complete every trophy in the game. That means an S ranking in the hardest difficulty, playing an entire playthrough without ever opening the item box (so no unlimited Ammo weapons, no assault, defense, or regen coins, no perfect dodge book, and discarding items when you run out of space), playing an entire playthrough without healing more than once, etc etc etc. So by the time you get everything, you don't feel like playing the game anymore.
Thanks, Jeremy! I took your advice and just enjoyed the free trial version until the price dropped. Patience is a virtue, as I got it for $10. Totally worth it! 😁
I loved this game. I was okay with nemesis not stalking like Mr X because I figure they didn’t want to just repeat what they already did with Mr. X in the RE2 remake. I agree it should have been $40.00 though.
The game is good, but I have a few complaints: -It's kind of easy. They are extremely generous on health and ammo compared to RE2 -Not much puzzle solving -Lack of replayability/alternate routes or paths you can take -The transitions between Jill and Carlos really effected the pacing. They should have just had their own separate campaigns -Not enough Nemesis. He only shows up in scripted fights -Nemesis has MULTIPLE opportunities to kill Jill, but for whatever reason never does -The game is definitely short -Lack of skins. Where are the skins from the original RE3? Why not give us RE5 Jill which was highly requested? -No Mercenaries mode, or a special similar mode to keep your attention after beating the campaign
Eh, I wouldn't read into it too much. Death Stranding is a huge game, Jeremy isn't a dedicated gaming channel so he probably hasn't played through it yet (because it can be a little dull during the opening areas of the game) and more importantly that game is long. Like 80 hours long. I think the last long game he reviewed was Breath of the Wild? Point is, he's more into smaller more digestible games like Doom, Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil, or Last of Us. Kind of shows the big issue when all games try to be 100 hours long.

This was a good review and fair. I feel is though games are not going on sale as fast as they use to anymore though. This game probably would a good buy at 40 dollars not 60
Not even the original re3 was longer than OG re2. Funny thing the original re3 was like DLC side story to re2, which capcom then decided to call it re3 nemesis and also sold it full price. Still enjoyed both.
It feels so weird that they just cut out the so many of the sets/places from original game. I know that it's a remake and everything...but Jill didn't meet up with the Umbrella operatives until a good chunk into the story, not when it first starts. Plus I personally prefer Brad's original death, since not only did that serve as the introduction for Nemesis, but his death was way more gruesome as well. And the Infamous line of "You want S.T.A.R.S? I'll give you S.T.A.R.S!" Doesn't have nearly the same impact or context that it did in the original.
Instead of modes like "Ghost Survivors" and "Resistance" Capcom should really put all their time and resources into extending the stories in these remakes. Throw far more surprises that weren't in the originals and stop CUTTING SHIT OUT from the originals!
What i would like to see would be mr x chasing you in re3 idk if thats possible story wise but it would be super cool

@Phry3
I have absolutely zero problems with the length.
He uppercutted me through a door 😂
This way it makes a little more sense to not have him hunt you so much, as it would make it too difficult and annoying, but I still think they should have squeezed in one more chase sequence, preferably one with his rocket launcher.

People were complaining how after the initial encounters with mr x became annoying rather scary cause he was easy to run away from but would just get in the way while you had to do a puzzle.. so I think they cut nemesis’s hunting sections for that reason and made it super intense for a shorter time.

when he infects her.
Nick Poe the biggest one for me was when he had her by the head but instead threw her aside to use the flamethrower............ like wut 😐

The Clock Tower, Racoon Park & The Dead Factory are the main areas missing in this remake.
@Jake Theberge
*These are some of the most prominent examples of cuts I can think of at the moment, from the reviews and gameplay footage I have seen, if you want:*
1.) The entire segment where you explored the interior of the clocktower, which many players thought offered a nice change of pace after the Raccoon City streets and could have looked neat in the new RE engine.
*As far as changes go, where it depends more on personal preference, here are some examples:*
1.) In terms of basic enemies, the Drain Deimos, Sliding Worms, Infected Crows, and Giant Spiders are replaced with Lickers, Pale Heads, Parasite Zombies, and more unique Hunter Gammas.
Funny, “wow that was fast” was what my wife said to me last night

He’s right. This game is being received almost exactly like the original RE3. In no way did people feel like RE3 was amazing. They only felt that way in retrospect. In reality the game was viewed as a disappointment and too similar to RE2.

Yah, they said they were working on 3 Resident Evils at the same time, so it makes sense. Its just unforunate.
Junko shareholder bastards probably demanded that a multiplayer mode of some sorts would be added to this game.
Besides the Short Deadline, I've seen and read some complaints from other gamers saying that they were too afraid and annoyed of Mr.X.
So just a guess, but they probably thought that Nemi may end up being too much for us thus the tone down of Badass Nemi.
How's the Resistance Mode?
And yeah, I'm waiting to get this game on sale.
Its an inferior and more annoying dead by daylight
Yeah but I didn't quite get challenged by it, considering you can use infinite weapons to get an S Rank unlike RE2.
And to be honest it's way better than that fucking phil spencer and rod fegouson sjw cash and grab gears 5 so yeah not really that bad at all.
they could’ve done more with this game. i felt like the game was a slight downgrade from the re2 remake. i wish i would’ve waited to buy the game at a lower price. fun game but not worth the $60 ish dollars.

“WOW! THAT WAS FAST.” -Jeremy Jahns
Remember what they said Nemesis was gonna feel like? It practically sounded like Mister X on steroids but it feels like he was more of a scripted character here
It feels like that because he IS a scriptet character lol.
My sis was literally hyping to me that Nemesis won't spawn at obvious areas like in the original... Welp.. 😒
@@vedomedo Yeah lol
Seeing that review then yeah it seems mr x was better as a scary figure. I mean after you learn some tricks on how to avoid him from personal experience and from the internet he is manageable but he still remains an annoying thorn that can spawn at many unfortunate moments to slow you down or even get you into deep trouble if he isn't alone. Nemesis doesn't seem as such a problem as mr x was.
John Winchesterp29 nemesis is a harder opponent than mr x for sure but x is a constant threat which is annoying.
Am I the only who thought that Mr X looked more intimidating than Nemesis? X had more of a horror appeal where as Nemesis seems like an action villian
Hamza Orakzai yes i agree nemesis was not scary at all. I just found him really badass. Every time he showed up I was oh shit it’s mr. savage. I started laughing when he pulled out the rocket launcher
One way I could compare them:
Mr. X - Being stalked by Michael Myers
Nemesis - Being chased by the Incredible Hulk
I laughed at Nemesis because of his new fashion... Trash fashion 👌😂🤣
Man sooooo many people were overhyping Nemesis after Re2Remake
"You think Mr.X is scary? Wait till you see Nemesis"
"Imagine Mr.X using weapons and he's running at you"
As impressive as Nemesis is, I do agree with what Jeremy said here.
Nemesis looks like a generic humanoid monster. Mr X had this mystery to him, and it works way more at least for me.
Bruh OG nemesis was scripted as well. The hell you talking about
@@8DarthGhost8 Yes he was scripted, but he still followed you through instances dude, just like Mr X does in the Remake.
That achievement doesn't really mean anything, every RE game can be completed in less than 2 hours.
@@Hectorlo Yeah after the 1st time you beat it.
@@doranmitchell1700 Well yeah and RE3 is no exception to that.
I wanted more Jill and Carlos
@@millasuini8307 yes me 2. It can not just end like that. I hope we will see more of them in the future
@@millasuini8307 same i like jill and carlos they are fun to play as im playing it everyday 😊
Speaking of Resident Evil movies, I feel they should adapt the remakes starting from RE1.
Need a good director who actually play the games
raven knight Ari Aster.
Nah Remake 1 is good for what it is. It doesn’t need its image tarnished and have content removed from it for no reason.
I was expecting to be able to explore the city like you could in the original. Why does this feel like a long hallway with a few doors?
Good concise detailed review jeremy. Can't wait for the Ff7 remake review. Also, you should absolutely do more game reviews even after covid fucks off.
Welp, the original re3 game was quick too.. lol XD
Tbh, it was always shorter compared to re2 in the original ps1. :O
He said that, and went even further to say the remake felt even shorter.
Resi evil 4 remake, Exactly why, if a resit evil needs a remake like these it is the first one, That would be creepy as hell
@@chucky110 No way. Part 4 is Fine as it is. I hope that's plainly a Rumor. If feel like if they Remake that, they'll kinda Ruin it for what it is
I wish if they do another remake it needs to be code Veronica. So many fans seem to overlook code Veronica, but it’s actually a great game in the series and I’d love to see it remade at some point. Now re4 on the other hand does not need to be remade and it’s a gem the way it is
Kedel Masterkey again, I don’t understand how making a shitty remake devalues the original game at all, that is such a silly mindset.
In essence DLC for resident evil 2
Yet nobody batted at eye when Spiders were cut from Remake 2...
Actually, it was a common complaint :P
Oh shit!!! I completely forgot about the spiders 🤦🏽♂️

I loved the RE2 remake, but from all the reviews I’ve heard I’m glad I haven’t bought it yet.
I got the game as a gift and I've been too afraid to play it
So I bought the dlc key that unlocks all the weapons :)
The re2 remake was the only resident evil game I played and I liked it so much I got all the trophies. But smt about the re3 remake seems less than the previous one in quite a few areas.

Dawid Bednorz I finished it the second time in 4 hours and after 3 more runs I had it down to 1:45
Straight up love this game.
SPOILERS
I thought everything about this game was incredible from a presentation standpoint.
The bit where he killed all the people in the train was sad though
I feel you. I feel you :(. If it was priced at $40. 8/10!
the game is paced kinda weirdly, too, feels like some sections have been cut and the rest of the game was awkwardly stitched together to cover it up. There's at least 2 moments in the game where you go directly for the boss with no gameplay levels in between.
[spoliers]
you take control of Jill after Carlos's RPD level, and it's straight to a Nemesis boss fight - they could've had a short section of gameplay on the waterway/park leading up to it.
Sue me.
Will the real nemesis please stand up
Play Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Jeremy, I'm sure you will love it, it was a whole new experience for me as a gamer! We're waiting for your review!
The Witcher 3 is amazing, but that’s a one-hundred hour monster of a game. I guess he has the time with the quarantine, but that’s still a big undertaking.
@@bizmonkey007 very much true, took me around 400h with both dlcs. But very much worth the time spent
Absolutely hate the combat.
Took me 4 hours and I wasn’t blazing threw it
I'm 5 and a half hrs in and just got to the part where Carlos has to hold off the zombies in the hospital lobby while waiting for the shutters to close on the windows. Not sure how much is left after but Ive been taking my time so idk. It's shorter for sure but it's not a huge negative for me.
Stephen Sporman about another hour or two left
Took me 7 hours on Hardcore difficulty
That kinda sucks. I guess they got the guts of the graphics/mechanics down, now they can churn out the rest in record time
Angry Joe: FOOOUURRRRRR HOOOOUURRRRRSSSSS???!?!?!
Jeremy going for that _'Last of the Brunnen-G'_ look in this vid. LOL.
I get anxiety attacks from Nemesis running right at you lol that shit made my heart pump faster 😂
I like that he actually knows what he is talking about and not just repeating shit other people have been saying all over the Internet.
That makes him trustworthy and that's a beautiful character trait. :)
Rookie Travel Diaries that's Jeremy for ya
Overall i really enjoyed playing it and icwould give this game an 8.5/10
Good review, completely agree with you

As long as you're having fun. I did think this game came out ~fast~
I still want them to do REZero in some good coop
Re3 nemesis original was always a short game I wasn't expecting an oddesy
3 hours doesn't seem that long
Would have been interesting if they started the game earlier and had us watch the slow fall of Racoon City instead of "Jill wakes up and zombies are everywhere, somehow".
just found this channel and I'm totally subscribing to this guy.
I enjoyed the game a lot, but it's definitely overpriced considering how quickly it can be beaten. Took me 10 hours for 2 playthroughs.
I would have rather that they fleshed out the campaign a little more instead of adding the multiplayer mode.
if they threw in a little more depth to the characters and their relationships just to flash out the story a little more i wouldn't mind the price
They missed a trick by leaving out certain central areas from the original. It is a great game though, but like the PS version, it is not a patch on RE2. I hope they redo Code Veronica next, and leave RE4 alone !!
Jeremy, I love your game reviews. Big fan of Eesident Evil, so glad they moved away from the more action dudebro approach of RE6

It definitely felt less like a remake and more of a cliff notes version of RE3
I genuinely enjoyed it while it lasted..
I hoped, that they will work on Resident Evil 3 because I always felt, that RE3 deserved more love from CAPCOM and... well.
Still a good game no regrets

The game was pretty good but it started going back to action and too many cut scenes already. Not to mention the physics felt cheap compared to the 2 remake. Limbs couldn’t be shot off. This game should have been better graphically than 2 in every way but it wasn’t. I don’t mind that some areas were cut. What bothered me is that capcom is already going back to action. The game did not feel scary at all compared to 2. I could also kill every enemy with no problem and never run out of ammo.
It was a decent game but not nearly as good as 2. You can tell they put a lot more care into 2.
Jeremy will you review Death Stranding. Apologize me if you answered this already.
I literally had no idea there would have been a RE3 remake until i've seen this review.
How tho
@@TrentM03 Other things on my mind
I've already beat the game 2 times. Playing on hardcore now.
Beat it on inferno my dude....in an hour
Are there any other extra characters or missions or stuff after you finish it???
Just beat it on Inferno in 1:15 and got the Platinum
frantisek petrasek I’ve heard there is shop where you can buy weapons. Also there are REmake and OG costumes
The game is good, but I have a few complaints:
-It's kind of easy. They are extremely generous on health and ammo compared to RE2
-Not much puzzle solving
-Lack of replayability/alternate routes or paths you can take
-The transitions between Jill and Carlos really effected the pacing. They should have just had their own separate campaigns
-Not enough Nemesis. He only shows up in scripted fights
-Nemesis has MULTIPLE opportunities to kill Jill, but for whatever reason never does
-The game is definitely short
-Lack of skins. Where are the skins from the original RE3? Why not give us RE5 Jill which was highly requested?
-No Mercenaries mode, or a special similar mode to keep your attention after beating the campaign
@Agent P Yeah, one skin. Two via DLC if you pre-ordered. That ain't shit.
i think at this point it's given jeremy didn't like death stranding?
Man I was hoping for another kojima title reviewed by jeremy.
Different strokes.
@@Orion_The_Merchant i have more than 20 hours in the first 3 chapters of DS. Even then, im not even done with thhat chapter. It was a pain early, but a joy to play when you get to unlock cool stuff.
Chapter 3 is the game proper.
@@Orion_The_Merchant i just hate that the game didnt tell me to start at hard mode for the trophies.
Can you blame him? Anyone with too many thoughts running through your head would hate that game. Its far too boring
I do feel it's worth $60. But that's me, someone who will play it multiple times and go for 100%, and then must likely speedrun it.
Also the Multiplayer mode is so damn fun.
Heres hoping for a proper mercenaries mode to be added later. Or other content like ghost survivors in 2.
I bought this game and played it all weekend. As much as I wish I waited for a sale, I tend to annoyance buy, I don't regret getting it.
This was a good review and fair. I feel is though games are not going on sale as fast as they use to anymore though. This game probably would a good buy at 40 dollars not 60
"Why can't they make a movie as good as the game" Because gamers don't make movies. I'm working to change that.🐨
And here I was expecting RE 3 Remake to be longer than RE 2 Remake...
Literally as he said nemesis is looking through a window at you, I literally looked up and saw him staring at me through a window. Trippy 😊
Fukken love ur channel ur so awesome love your growth and development
