  • To make this cute casserole cover, you will need a jelly roll or sufficient 2 1/2 inch strip scraps and at least 1/2 to one yard of fabric for lining...
    You will need fuseable fleece, fuseable foam and a small piece of insul bright...
    Thread and other regular sewing notions...
    follow the video for actual instructions...
    final cut on the bottom of the cover is 16 1/2 by 14 1/2 inches and that is for the size of dish I use in this video...
    final cut for pot holder is 10 1/4 by 8 1/4 inches..
    The embroidery file I used in the video is from Sweet Pea here is the link to that file....swpea.com/search?type=product...
    the fabric I used in my jelly roll is A Walk In The Park by Ro Gregg, Paintbrush Studios.....
    The casserole dish I used is Anchor Hocking 11 cup rectangular with lid... I got mine at the dollar store for 5 dollars...

    Never thought about not pressing the binding but it makes perfect sense to wait.

    You are a great teacher! I appreciate you sharing why you do things. Like pressing the binding. I always press it before attaching but I always fight those wavy wrinkles in my binding. I thought I was not hand sewing it just right. Now I know how to do it correctly so it will lay nicely. I love this little casserole carrier. Unfortunately my casserole dish, like yours, has the lid with the lip on it. I love that you made the pot holder for a lid as well. I may make one for another casserole dish I have that doesn’t have a lip on the lid. I also love hand binding!

      @@FiddlestixAndStitches It's the casserole basket with pot holder lid tutorial. My video isn't very good as I have MS and I don't know how to do a video where I stop and start again, so I had only enough spoons, lol to do a quick tutorial. I didn't bind mine as I am terrible at binding so I really like your version. I will try it this way so thanks for doing this. I love to create and share.

    If I have a hot dish, would it be hard to put on your casserole cover?

  • @hexabob57
    @hexabob57 Год назад +4

    This is really cute, but it seems like it would be more suited for cold casseroles or desserts, since it would be a little difficult to put a hot dish inside the carrier (it's kind of a tight fit).

      Just make a log cabin quilt block that is big enough and quilt it and cut the top out and proceed to finish the top...❤️

      I found it! It must be the sweet pea file. I thought you meant I. The files section of the group. I think these casserole covers are darling! Your instructions are so good. I sure do appreciate you! That file does the embroidery but isn’t there a file for the log cabin part? I am so confused....

    Is it really necessary to have that special foot ?

    • @lindacampbell2329
      @lindacampbell2329 3 года назад

      I really like that and would like to make some but I don’t have that foot nor the fusible Pelion and I’m in Canada things are not opened here for that only essentials

    • @FiddlestixAndStitches
      @FiddlestixAndStitches  3 года назад +1

      If you have a walking foot that would work too… you do need to use 1/4 inch seam allowance …
