- To make this cute casserole cover, you will need a jelly roll or sufficient 2 1/2 inch strip scraps and at least 1/2 to one yard of fabric for lining...
You will need fuseable fleece, fuseable foam and a small piece of insul bright...
Thread and other regular sewing notions...
follow the video for actual instructions...
final cut on the bottom of the cover is 16 1/2 by 14 1/2 inches and that is for the size of dish I use in this video...
final cut for pot holder is 10 1/4 by 8 1/4 inches..
The embroidery file I used in the video is from Sweet Pea here is the link to that file....swpea.com/search?type=product...
the fabric I used in my jelly roll is A Walk In The Park by Ro Gregg, Paintbrush Studios.....
The casserole dish I used is Anchor Hocking 11 cup rectangular with lid... I got mine at the dollar store for 5 dollars... Кино
Patchwork color selection is stellar…so beautiful!
Never thought about not pressing the binding but it makes perfect sense to wait.
So glad I found your channel. Bought everything and now going to do marathon sewing to get some gifts done. Thank you so much for the great idea.
Thank you very much for doing this!! I appreciate you taking the time to do this.👏👏👏
You are a great teacher! I appreciate you sharing why you do things. Like pressing the binding. I always press it before attaching but I always fight those wavy wrinkles in my binding. I thought I was not hand sewing it just right. Now I know how to do it correctly so it will lay nicely. I love this little casserole carrier. Unfortunately my casserole dish, like yours, has the lid with the lip on it. I love that you made the pot holder for a lid as well. I may make one for another casserole dish I have that doesn’t have a lip on the lid. I also love hand binding!
Thank you soooooo much! ❤️
Great casserole cover! Very pretty colors!
Great tutorial. Thank you. They would be great gifts. 💕💕
Just so beautiful, Thank you so much, I love it. I will be making one for each of my casserole dishes.
Thank you soooooo much!
So pretty! I can't wait to make one. Thank you for all the tips.
thank you for the lesson.
Great tutorial. Love it.
So cute! Thanks for making this. When I made my video, I was hoping someone would make this in more detail. Love your techniques. :)
I would love to see your video.... ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I bet it is very good...
@@FiddlestixAndStitches It's the casserole basket with pot holder lid tutorial. My video isn't very good as I have MS and I don't know how to do a video where I stop and start again, so I had only enough spoons, lol to do a quick tutorial. I didn't bind mine as I am terrible at binding so I really like your version. I will try it this way so thanks for doing this. I love to create and share.
@@verakaycustommade9828 you’re doing a great job and finished project looks great and nice gift it’s a lot of work
Love your tutorials! Thank you so much. I need to make me one asap. Xo
Thanks so much for your video
If I have a hot dish, would it be hard to put on your casserole cover?
This is really cute, but it seems like it would be more suited for cold casseroles or desserts, since it would be a little difficult to put a hot dish inside the carrier (it's kind of a tight fit).
I don’t have a hoop how would I do the top? Loved the tutorial.
Just make a log cabin quilt block that is big enough and quilt it and cut the top out and proceed to finish the top...❤️
Could I make it without the Pelion in the lining ?
Give it a try… you might design a whole new item!❤️
Where do I purchase the files you mentioned?
The files are in a Facebook group hon....Bernina 7 and 8 series
@@FiddlestixAndStitches is that the Bernina beginners 7 and 8 series embroidery group?
@@dianegruber6051 yes
@@FiddlestixAndStitches I don’t know why I can’t find it. I assume it is called casserole cover.
I found it! It must be the sweet pea file. I thought you meant I. The files section of the group. I think these casserole covers are darling! Your instructions are so good. I sure do appreciate you! That file does the embroidery but isn’t there a file for the log cabin part? I am so confused....
Is it really necessary to have that special foot ?
I really like that and would like to make some but I don’t have that foot nor the fusible Pelion and I’m in Canada things are not opened here for that only essentials
If you have a walking foot that would work too… you do need to use 1/4 inch seam allowance …
Incessant sound of water running in the background was very distracting. Did appreciate the tutorial.
It was a fish tank…. I couldn’t go it either and it’s in another room now far far away….❤️🐠
I enjoy this one but your camera was to close but over all it was ok
Voice fades away at some points.
Like the tutorial, but found it boring and too long.
