I love the idea of using a store-bought quilt for these projects. Often there are coordinating collections in the storesso everything would go together. Much quicker than quilting it yourself!
I have a wood burning stove..I have made this out of burlap and thick one inch dowells to carry wood in the house..of course only 38" fabric only needed..made them as christmas too
That’s a cool idea! I live in Florida in the US, so we only need the fireplace a few days of the year. But I love that you’ve created a version that works that way!
Absolutely love this idea. You can use those skinny leftover pieces to make travel Kleenex holders. Many years ago I used a cotton mattress cover as my batting for some baby projects.
I found you during masks making, but just found this group of tutorials! The way you explain your thought of how and why you use the different tools or way to do things is very good! Thank you for the zoom outs and "well I need 4" for my hand"
I'm thinking that a large bag from that fabric with the dowel handles would make a great mobile home for crafting / sewing / knitting supplies. Would love instructions for something like that!
A few bowl cozies would be nice to have from remnants of that quilt. So many cozies are a little small, so this would give you the opportunity to make them to fit your soup/cereal bowls.
That’s a great idea! I just want to be careful because inexpensive quilts tend to be made with polyester batting which is not very resistant to high heat. I’d need to make sure that whoever used it didn’t overheat their soup bowl and melt the batting! Lol
I am making these for Christmas gifts. 1/2 inch double fold bias tape in a coordinating color made finishing the edges easy! I just used some of the leftover bias tape to cover the raw edge where the dowels. Thanks for the great tutorial!
Great tutorial! I craft a lot of small stuff from garage sale buys. Whenever I look at something, I see what it can be, not what it is. Such fun. Love the colors of the quilt.
I have wanted to make one for ever! Thank you for showing how, I think u and it are awesome. Also, u cud sew a quick bowl out of the remaining pieces for ur clips.
I would make the piece with the dowel wider so the casserole is completely covered and also strings or Velcro to hold the flaps secured. Love the idea. I bought a quilt but it was too pretty to cut so I used it on my bed
I am loving your store bought quilt hacks. I have tried and tried multiple times to free motion quilt...and let's just say it's not my forte'. Thank you for taking the time to explain things! Do you think this can be made out of a single cut piece of quilted bedding instead of two single pieces? I think it would look nice with the corners enclosed. I hope I am making sense!!
Great idea recycling the binding. Your method is VERY time consuming. Use a ripper with a ball on the short hook. Slide that ball on the inside and firmly hold the lower edge while you push it along. Done correctly it goes very quickly.
Lol! Good point. Maybe watch a little longer and see that I made an entire casserole carrier? Or are you along to the next video to troll that creator?
I knew I loved this quilt you are using and it’s because I have this exact quilt.
Fantastic Idea!! You did such a great job of explaining this clever way to make a gift🙂❤
Thanks so much 😊
Great idea to use purchased quilts always fun to watch. Also good that you show all your new mistakes as we all make mistakes. Thx for sharing...
I still have half of this quilt left. Waiting on inspiration for a new project.
I feel even shinier and craftier after watching your videos! :)

Great job with cover

Love this! Shared with my Lasagna Love group!
I don’t know what a lasagna love group is but I think I want in!!

This is an awesome carrier. Thank you for working through it with us.
This is a fabulous idea. Exactly what I have been looking for. Thank you so much for sharing!

enjoyed the video great bag craft. Thanks.
Such a great idea! Thanks for posting!
When will you show more projects from this quilt? These have been simple and easy so far, just hooked on this idea of using a quilt as fabric
You're so talented I love it
Just love your channel its great fun just watching and hoping I can create project like this
Love it
You can also use wooden spoons for the handles
That’s a great idea and gives you a serving spoon for dinner time!!!
Brownies YES!
Right?!? And that was the first thing I made after this video. Lol
Make a bag for your clips from remaining fabric. 😃
I love the project. The only thing I would do differently is to put the piece with the dowels on the outside when putting them together.
I’m so excited to try this!

Wow, what a fantastic idea ;)

Can you do a hack for sewing machine cover ? Thanks
And a small cell phone bag and use those dog leash findings from the Dollar tree
Great idea!
I do hope it's ok to take your ideas, make my own and sell them at my local craft fairs! FANTASTIC IDEAS!!!
Just noticed your Georgefest tee! I live 5 miles from Eustis!
I too, have trouble keeping up with my “tools”. 🙈🌹🙋♀️

Fabulous idea. What kind of table with the grid are you using. I need a table like that.
Can you make a casserole carrier without binding?
Wondering how big of a quilt did you buy at WM
I always buy a king.
Could there be a way to close the corners ?
I got my clips from Amazon and they came in their own metal case
Love your small iron. What's the brand?
It’s a Homee Ever brand. I found it on Amazon
Why wouldn't you use a yard stick instead of a measuring tape?
Would depend if you had one, I guess.
I was screaming at my screen when you cut the first handle opening at 4 1/2 instead of 3 1/2. I was going no no no no no.
I can’t watch it again cause of that. Lol
You need to turn your volume up so we can hear you.
I love when u make mistakes, it shows u r humam.
Luv the idea but wish it was condensed in time
You can always zip through a video and just watch the parts that are important to you. Or even watch it in pieces. They are really good videos!
Boy, you lost me somewhere.
Are you just gonna talk, or you actually gonna do something?
Lol! Good point. Maybe watch a little longer and see that I made an entire casserole carrier? Or are you along to the next video to troll that creator?
