Gah!!! Huge lightbulb moment. I've made a handful of custom size cozies and always struggle to figure out exactly where to sew the darts to make it fit just right. I would set the bowl on top of the fabric and pull the fabric up at the corners, but of course, the bowl moves and I can't get a good marking. So then I just keep sewing the dart and ripping it out and sewing again until I get it right.😖NEVER thought to tape the fabric in place and turn the bowl over to get the right placement. Thank you SO much for that tip!
Thank you so much. I have been looking for this exact video. Have made stacks of the standard size but needed one that adapts to shapes and sizes. Lovely clear instructions too so a big Thank you!!!
What kind of batting did you use. I would like a thin one. Wrap and zap is to thick and I don't think it holds up very well. I used cotton interfacing that is many years old and that holds up really nice
I think this cozy is just meant to make your hot or cold casserole dish easier to move and transport, and insulate it a bit. It shouldn't be used in a microwave like a bowl cozy would.
Can you do a video with a rectangular or oval dish? I know you must do a half instead of a quarter template, and fold the fabric once instead of twice, but I'm not clear on how to do the handles. Thank you.
well done! great instruction easy to follow thankyou
Glad it was helpful!

It helps to lessen the bulk on the edge if the batting is cut smaller than the fabric.

Is the plus 2” because of the height of the dish? If my Pyrex dish is 3” high, should I add 3” instead of 2”?
Brilliant. Thank you.
Can these go Ina oven
Where do you get the insulated wadding and does it go by a different name?
What kind of batting did you use. I would like a thin one. Wrap and zap is to thick and I don't think it holds up very well. I used cotton interfacing that is many years old and that holds up really nice
A nice thin batting is 100% bamboo.
Great video! Am I correct that this is not microwave safe because of the insulated wadding that you use?
You should only put 100% natural fibres in the microwave. Cotton, bamboo, etc.
If used in a microwave, won't the foil backed wadding spark?
I think this cozy is just meant to make your hot or cold casserole dish easier to move and transport, and insulate it a bit. It shouldn't be used in a microwave like a bowl cozy would.
Yes it you plan on microwaving it then you must you only natural wadding like 100% cotton or bamboo. x

Noted!
What is "washie" tape? Does it have a different name in America? Is it masking tape or adhesive tape?
It's also known as paper tape, scrapbooking tape or you can use masking tape.
In the instructions I am confused. How is 11 add 12 is 13? Is it supposed to be 11 plus 1 to be 13 and then divide into 1/2?
11+2=13; half of that is 6.5
@@mclrose7came to the comments to see also as she did SAY 12,but it’s written 2,so I guess she just misspoke
Mea culpa
You are very valued. Thank you for being here. xxx
