The insulated batting in this video is thermally reflective. NOT FOR USE IN THE MICROWAVE!
If you want to place your cosy directly in the microwave then make sure you use a 100% natural batting without the plastic or metal thermal layer.

Wowser! You explained in six minutes what it takes everyone else thirty lo-o-o-o-ng minutes to blab, AND treated us to that delightful pup. Many thanks. Now we all have more time to make cozies!
Thank you so much for your awesome comment! xx
I hate when the videos have so much unnecessary filler. I love it when it just gets to the point. Thank you!

Going to start some and yes I know I’m a little late to the party 🙃

I love the little tip about using the needle to help move the fabric edges under the needle, and also love your simple and clear instructions!
You are so welcome! x
Completely agree!! Such a helpful tip! Thank you 😊
I never thought of that before. That was a great tip
Yes, I agree! What a great tip :)

Been sewing for YEARS and never thought of this trick!
Total game changer! Thx!
Nice Video.
No unnecessary talking, straight to the point. Loved it. Thanks!

Exactly she doesn't like to hear her own voice like the majority who just keep on banging on.
Wow the best most straightforward tutorial I have ever seen in my whole life!!!!! Thank youuuuuuuuuu
Loved the tutorial! Lots of unnecessary negative posts from people about other youtubers though. Personally I enjoy all kinds of intructors, whether they are chatty or not. If you don't like something, just pass it by. No need to be so negative!
great instructions thank for the vid
No problem 👍
I am going to try doing this with an oblong basket to make a bed for my cats. I’ve been trying to figure out how to make a liner but then I remembered the bowl cozi and realized that just
Might work!

One of the best demonstrations on a bowl cozy.
Short. Sweet. Ready. Set. GO! Thank you!
You're welcome!
I really like your no nonsense explanation .
Thank you so much!
I finally watched a different video and found that the seam allowance is 1/4 inch and top stitch once turned inside out is 1/8 along the entire edge of bowl closing the opening.
You have THE BEST tutorial. Thank you. I don’t know why everyone else makes theirs so darn complicated! They cut before sewing. I appreciate this!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it. x
Fate that you showed up in my feed. My daughter just requested these. Excellent tutorial. Precise, to the point, and without all the endless blabbering from other instructors. I’ve given up and two other tutorials. I’ll be subscribing. Thank you. You are quite talented.
Thanks Robin for your kind feedback 😊. I hope your daughter loves her bowl cosy x
Great and nicely done easy pattern. I’ve seen so many trying to explain on Pinterest no videos . This helps a big deal makes a nice gift for mums with children and for us adults who almost drop a hot bowl with a mere towel. Thank you ❤
You are so very welcome! xx
Thank you! The instructions were so easy to follow & it turned out very nice. I did not notice if you had instructed people to use 100% cotton fabric, batting and thread, due to fire hazard in microwave.
What a great video! You explained the directions so well, I thought you had to buy pattern template to make it . But with your directions, it even looks easier than using the template. Thank you so very much for explaining it so well.❤
thank you so much for your kind comment!
Loved this informative video, and I learned something new, too, us a pin to help the fabric through the foot feed at the corners!. These are simple and cute!
I love how you explain this so simply with the items we already have in our basic crafting supplies. The video footage is direct and easy to see. Thank you. FOLLOWING
Glad it was helpful! x
I add my thanks for the clear instructions. They could not be better. I found these bowl cosys by accident recently and bought one. It actually works very well as a bowl for bits and bobs so I am inspired to have a go at making some more. Well done.
Thank you so much I really appreciate your feedback. Have a great day!
EXCELLENT clear, easy instructions! Thank you! And just because you didn't take 30 minutes to tell us what can be told in 6 minutes, you now have a new subscriber!!!
Glad it was helpful! Sometime I feel like I'm info dumping on people so it's great to hear good feedback! x
This cozy also works for a cold bowl of ice cream. I appreciated the speed of this lesson.
Plus, what's not to love about ice-cream....?

Beginner in retirement. Your video was great. I made three bowls with “manly” materials as catch-alls for hubby’s meds, keys, etc. Looks much neater now. Thanks!
That is awesome! What a great idea!
Love your tutorial-- never saw these cute bowls until Friday then Saturday they showed up EVERYPLACE I went. Thank you for the peppy lesson , you do a great job and easy listening. p.g.

Wow, thanks so much for sharing! And the pin behind the needle is a game changer for me! Look at you teaching an old dog a new to me trick!☺️
Glad it was helpful!
Love this video. So easy to follow your clear instructions. I actually made a bowl cozy immediately after watching your video, came out perfect! Soup looks good..Have a great blessed day! Thank you for sharing.
I’ve made hundreds as gifts and stocking stuffers. I made a cardboard template from a cereal box that allows me to draw the darts on each fabric half after the corner to corner stitch is made. So much easier than measuring and marking each 4 darts otherwise everything else shown in your video is the same. Add a matching fabric loop. I make the Coozies in different sizes and matching fabrics for those people who want them to coincide with their cooking and serving dishes! Big bowls need protection too!
That's a fantastic tip! thank you so much for sharing it xx
Best tutorial ever.... Others made this so hard.
Try Crafty Gemini

This is the best bowel cozy ever. Excellent video.
Wow, thank you!
Thank you! This is going to save my fingers! Not only from hot bowls but cold cereal bowls as well. I have Raynauds & my fingers go numb at the slightest chill. Also, your video is so easy to follow!! 💖
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. x
Perfect for layer-cake squares! Awesome!
Thank you, very easy to follow instructions for bowl cozies.
Thank you for teaching us how to make quilted bowl cosy. So easy to follow your steps. Managed to successfully make them 🙂
My pleasure 😊
Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for a wonderful tutorial.
Thank you for explaining and showing how to do this. And as the previous post you don’t bore us with no-nonsense. Vert well done.
Thank you so much!
I just started making these. I have made several sizes but I find that the most versatile size is starting with an 11” square. Also don’t cut the darts off. Cut the darts on the fold and press open because that causes less bulk and makes it easier to sew.
I also cut the darts open, but I trim the batting from the excess dart fabric and grade the corners to help with bulk.
Valerie Clark Yes, so do I! Great minds and all that! 😂
Just came across this comment and so glad I did! I've been struggling with the bulk on the inner darted corners so I'm definitely going to try this on my next one.
I am super excited to find this video. I teach 11 students how to sew and we will be making these! Can't wait! Excellent job explaining everything.
Wonderful! I hope they enjoy making them! x
Would be a great fundraiser for kids, they sell for about $6-8 each.
Wow! Really good way to explain the instructions! Thanks so much for your help!
Instructions to the point, easier than the method I’d been using. Trying it out today
Glad it helped x
I really enjoyed your Video.Your explanation was easy to follow. Thank You, I was able to make several after watching you.
Awesome simple to understand and I don't need any real fancy equipment! Many thanks! Perfect for pho noodle dinners in front of tv
Is there anything better than a pot noodle dinner?
Thank you for little tips and clear instructions! Subscribed and looking forward to more! Hope the pup got a taste of that soup! Lol
brilliant clear no messing instructions, thanks so much
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you. I understand per your reply. 10” square, sewing seam is 1/4” and after turning sew edge with 1/8” seam.
Yes she tended to leave that out
OMG!!!! What a BRILLIANT tutorial!!!! Love the top about the needle behind the sewing machine needle. WOW!!!
Thank you so much Dee!
This was a really great simple tutorial! Thank you 😊
Just made my first cozy thank you for your tutorial ❤
Great video. Great instructions. Easy to follow along. I'm off to make about 10 of these. Happy Holidays!
Great instructions! Easy to understand and follow. Love all the tips you’ve given especially using the needle to help fabric move forward. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful! x
if you think the cozy will be used in the microwave, make sure all cotten material & thread is used in the project
Absolutely
Great tutorial. Very concise, clear and easy to understand. Thank you 😊.
You’re welcome 😊
All components - fabric, batting (wadding) and thread must be 100% cotton. Polyester could spark when heated.
Hello I read that as well, but I read the batting needs to be 100% cotton called Wrap-N-Zap that is microwave save. Is that what you use? WalMart carries it.
I doubt a hot bowl of food would spark a fire. I would not put anything like this in a microwave anyway
Thank you so much for your easy, clear and precise instructions....the project was a breeze. I did look at another couple of videos afterwards and thought if I'd have checked them first I would have not gone ahead with the idea, thanks again.....
Glad it was helpful! Let me know if there's anything else you would like us to show you how to make.
Wonderful tutorial!

Your top-stitching is so neat and even. Love the "pull the fabric with a needle" tip. Thanks.
You are so welcome!
when I completed my bowl looked a lot smaller than yours. Is the size perhaps 12" instead of 10"? Thank you.
Lori, use 10" squares but sew with a 1/4" seam all the way around. Leave a 2" opening. After turning inside out, sew around the entire bowl cozy with a 1/8"seam. I hope this helps.
Thank you for sharing. God Bless. From Canada
And thank you for your lovely comment 🥰
I tried making one, too small. Need to be at least 14 inches in size on all sides for a soup bowl to sit nicely . Overall it worked out good.
It totally depends on the size of your bowl. Too small for some bowls might have been a better description. Works perfect for my soup bowls.
Lord, child, if you need a 14" square, you must be feeding a very large person. My 750 ML bowl fits perfectly in the 10" cozy, and is all the soup I want at one sitting. But a graduated size set IS a good idea for king-size people.
By far the best tutorial for bowl cozies. Well done!
Wow, thank you! What would you like me to make next?
Been so hesitant due to extensive and confusing instructions but then the heavens parted and I found your tutorial! Thank you - clear and to the point!
Oh Ali you have made my day! Thank you so much, I'm so glad you found it helpful. x
Spectacular! My first try sewing after 30 years and this turned out perfectly. You made this so easy and quick!
Thank you for helping my success!
You are so welcome! I'd love to see it! If you share a pic on social media then don't forget to tag us. x
I'm definitely making these. I'm always grabbing a towel or potholder for my bowl. Plus these will make great padding for the bowls in the camper.
Camper padding! That's a great idea!
Have wondered for so long how these are made. Great tutorial to follow
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks! This is so easy! I’m going to turn this into a pet bed for my kittens with some old clothes.
That's a great idea! oh I would love to see a picture!?!
Like this for how concise yet detailed it is.
I sell these using tea towels and upcycle other fabrics....perfect for hot AND cold bowls. Ice cream ideal for kids in bowl cosies at picnics and equally usefull for eating soup , pasta dishes, and hot deserts.
A truly versatile make!
Oh I bet using tea towels is beautiful!
I found the one and only video I need to watch. It was fantabulous! And P.S., now that I'm making these, I made a 1" x 2" triangular template out of spare foam board that I had. Saved me from measuring over and over - though that was great to see it this way to keep it uncomplicated.
That's a great idea!
Great demo with clear & concise instructions - thank you very much!!!🌸🌺🌼
You are so welcome!
Great demo, made one in 30 min or less. A friend made mine & works great for soup. I will make several more for gifts. Thanks 👍
Wonderful!
@@TodayweCraftToday made 6 more. Some of my fabrics were thicker so found an open seam of 2 1/4” worked better for turning 🥰
Thank you. You are very easy to follow along with. I've made a few of these now. Brilliant.
Glad you like them!
You’re not kidding. I have been intimidated to try these. Not any more. 😮
That's great! I hope you enjoy making them!
Wow the easiest to follow by far....thank you.......
You're welcome!
Thank you for precise and no nonsense instructions. So easy to follow.
Glad it was helpful! Let me know if there's anything else you would like me to show you how to make.
