I made four of these and they were so easy! I added an extra feature. I also have an embroidery machine. I added the name of the person receiving this as a gift so when they use it to take to an event, this should go back to its rightful owner. I will be making more soon! Thanks for the tutorial.
Terrific video. Listened without sound and the captions were excellent. I'm thinking about adding a layer of Insulbrite so it can be used as a hot pad on the table.Thank you.
Thank you for sharing. It’s fun to make and use for potluck. To make more fun, if someone really likes it, I gift it to them and have fun making another. Double pleasure.
I have just finished my casserole holder following your tutorial. Turns out beautifully and the only hitch is my sewing machine. Unable to stitch the last stage of the binding. So I handstitch all around. Hopefully it will be stronger enough to hold the weight of the glass casserole. Otherwise I will use plastic containers.. Hehehe Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and idea for this project. Much love and God bless from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Super cute, super functional, and super ingenious! I purchased your pattern. I think that's the least we can do to support you and thank you for all the free patterns from the past and future!
Love, this video and showing various designs and dish sizes. I have a few casserole carriers but they are for a 9 X 13" pans. I have made the 9 X 13 size as gifts and included a covered dish with a recipe for housewarming gifts and shower gifts. This gives us so many other options, can't wait to start making them. Thank you for your GREAT ideas and the videos they are always so precise in directions from start to finish.
Really love this carrier pattern. I’ve been wanting to make one for quite awhile, but the patterns were always to complicated. Thank you so much! You made it really easy, and fun to make. I’m going to make some for family members as well
GREAT video 👍love it and your instructions…as always, you explains things so well. I am going to start these today because this is just in time for Thanksgiving and Christmas because I always make a few casseroles for our family. Thank you so much
Wow, I really love this and will make myself some as well as make some for my daughters and daughter in love. Thank you Lisa. You never cease to amaze me with your creativity. I appreciate you and all your time preparing and teaching each of us.
What a great video, Lisa! I just came upon your site this morning so this is the first of your videos that I have seen. I hope that you have lots of other great ideas just like this that you have shared. Can’t wait to look for you to see what other great patterns and ideas you have. I have wanted to make some casserole carriers and have bought patterns to do so but they look like way more work than I want to do. This pattern is amazingly simple! I think I can do this one! Your directions are excellent and super easy to follow! AND I am wanting to learn to do free motion quilting and this will be an excellent way to get some practice but still having a completed project rather than wasting fabric and batting on “practice” quilt sandwiches that will eventually get tossed. AND I have LOTS of random charm squares to use up and I can’t wait to get started on this one! Everyone is getting one for Christmas this year! LOL! Thank you for sharing this!
Hi Kathy!!!! Your friends and family will LOVE them :) and I totally agree...practicing free motion quilting is great...but I hate throwing away practice pieces. These are the perfect solution.
I've been looking for something nice to carry those Styrofoam takeout boxes. I think this fits the bill and then when we get to the park, it turns into a table topper to put on the picnic table! Thanks. 💖🌞🌵😷
I think I might try and make this, but cut that long strip in half so that you can tie it once you've got your casserole dish in there. Has anyone else done that? You could even add a button on one side and a buttonhole on the other. So many ideas!
Thank you for an amazing tutorial. Hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving week. Can you use this same pattern for a quilt top? I found you by accident. Totally enjoy your way of teaching.
Hi Cassy, a lot of the times I don't show how to make the binding because there are tons of videos out there showing how to do that and I try to keep the videos as short as possible.
You are really inspiring me with kitchen items for Christmas gifts! I only have one question on the carrier you demoed in the video, what is the measurement on the binding? Also, will this be a free pattern for patreon members?
To find binding measurements measure each side and add all 4 numbers up. Add 10 to that number. That's the total inches of binding you need. I demo the patchwork carrier in this video and give out measurements and sizes for the carrier. The other three styles are included in the pattern. This will be exclusively found in my Etsy shop ♡
Thanks so much! I love watching your videos. I have a question. After you cinch up the corners, will it stay drawn up? (In other words, do you have to hold the straps to keep it together while you’re transporting it?)
@@TheQuiltmakerHomestead You are the BEST. I try to carry them to the machine in stacks and always get them mixed up when I try and chain piece. THANK YOU

Lisa, can you advise pattern for the churn dash? Thank you
Oops....found them on Etsy and made my purchase for the patterns! Great shop! Thank you
Thank you so much!
Another awesome project! Thank you! Can you tell me the width of the binding that you used? Mahalo and happy holidays 😊
2 1/2"
Thank you for an amazing tutorial. Hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving week. Can you use this same pattern for a quilt top? I found you by accident. Totally enjoy your way of teaching.
I believe you could!! Thanks so much for watching :)
Love this caeeiee Thanks
Is this a wider binding, looks like it. 2.5”??
Nice
How do we get your other patterns for these carrier?
Lisa - What is the name of the snips that you use to cut your thread? Where did you buy it?
I'm curious why you didn't use insulbrite...I guess because it doubles as a decorative topper.
Your videos are very helpful and informative
great
Could I use insulbright
Yes you could do that :)
Probably a dumb question…how does stitching in the ditch secure the binding? Wouldn’t you need to stitch about 1/8” on the binding? Thanks.
Very niceeee
How did you make the binding? Was this addressed anywhere? Thank you!
Hi Cassy, a lot of the times I don't show how to make the binding because there are tons of videos out there showing how to do that and I try to keep the videos as short as possible.
@@TheQuiltmakerHomestead can you tell me the length you used specifically for this binding?
can we get free pattern
What is the finished size?
Doesn't the glue stick residue on the needle gum up your thread or machine?
Nope :)
You are really inspiring me with kitchen items for Christmas gifts! I only have one question on the carrier you demoed in the video, what is the measurement on the binding? Also, will this be a free pattern for patreon members?

@@TheQuiltmakerHomestead thank you so much....you are AMAZING!
What is that little piece of fabric used before you sew your seam? And what is it’s purpose. Thanks.
Hi Terry, here is a short video showing what they are and why I use them :) ruclips.net/video/WjJ0QJSuxZg/видео.html
Perfect - Thank You 😊
Thank you! I had no idea. I am going to use them. ❤️
Wonder what the finished size
Approximately 24x24"
How much can you sell those for
I am not sure you can search similar items on etsy
I’ve used glue before and it kept stick8ng to my needles. What a mess…do you recommend a particular glue. Thank you
I like using Elmer's glue, and make sure it's dry before trying to sew :)
why did you start with such a huge piece of batting and backing?
Thanks so much! I love watching your videos. I have a question. After you cinch up the corners, will it stay drawn up? (In other words, do you have to hold the straps to keep it together while you’re transporting it?)
It will pretty much stay like that, however maybe adding some velcro to the strap somewhere will keep it drawn up TIGHT.
I was thinking plastic kamsnaps on the corners to keep it together during transport
Can you show SLOWLY how you keep track of your rows from when you pick them up and stack them, until you chain stitch them and then lay them back out.
Hi Joan, I will try to remember to do that next time for you :)
Love your method of teaching, and your videos are not drawn out with a bunch of chatter! You rock!🤗
@@TheQuiltmakerHomestead You are the BEST. I try to carry them to the machine in stacks and always get them mixed up when I try and chain piece. THANK YOU
@@kidsonlycj6387 thank you so much!!
I was thinking the same thing I get confused as to how to organize my stacks since I’m new to quilting squares w chain piecing
