    Been doing this for decades. Nifty, ja?! The added bonus with this technique is we get a Hanging Sleeve as well - if you fold a triangle in the other corner. If the quilt is large, add a couple of support loops... sew easy to tack down a loop or two instead of a large sleeve the whole width! I put folded triangles in all four corners. The top two hang the quilt and the bottom two hold a “rod” which makes quilt hang flat and straight against the wall. Got a kick outta the spelling. Too funny. TFS

    Thanks for sharing. I complete mine generally the same way. The glue idea is appreciated. I add an little matching border around the open edge and steam a seam it down. Adding a note sounds great but if it’s a kid quilt or one to be washed often I think it could be problematic Again thanks!

    I'm pretty new to using my embroidery machine as I've only had my Brother PE800 for a few months. I'm still trying to figure out which stabilizer will work best for projects, and especially for quilt labels. I need a "stabilizer dictionary" 😂. I will try the process you used in this video on my next quilt label--thanks for the detailed demonstration. I also just watched your video where you explain the Stabilizer Window idea. I need to get some heavyweight tear away because that's a great idea.
    Also, did you use 1/2" font for top line and then 1/4" font for the last 3 lines on your label?

    LOL. My husband like to decorate cakes for family events but his spelling was slightly off one time. Instead of congratulations he had congraduations.
    I once read where a quilter would tuck behind her labels extra fabric left over from making the quilt. Therefore the person receiving the quilt would have matching fabric for repairs plus the fabric would age accordingly with each washing.

    • @TheQuiltmakerHomestead
      @TheQuiltmakerHomestead  5 лет назад

      I think that is such a great idea about tucking some extra fabric away with the quilt.....it makes so much sense! Hahahaa....without spell check I probably would have spelt congratulations the same exact way your hubby did heheheeee :)

    What size do you cut your binding?? It looks like a thicker binding

    • @TheQuiltmakerHomestead
      @TheQuiltmakerHomestead  5 лет назад

      this was an experiment with a wider binding....usually I cut my strips at 2.5 inches....this time I cut them at 3 inches to see what it would look like. I really like the wider appearance of the binding around the edges that this gave, however I do think I should have stitched closer to the edge of the binding to finish :)
