    I have an embroidery machine and will make my own labels- To so and so, for what purpose , ex wedding, will add the name of the quilt pattern/BOM ex SEW WITH ME 2023, made by with my name, city and state, and month and year completed. I will occasionally include a button sewn onto the label from "just another button company" , and will also include my fabric purchased label if I don't embroider my name, and sometimes add some ribbon or lace. So many options that may depend on the recipient or purpose. Sometimes i make a triangle fold and place it in the corner--depends on quilt size. Thanks for sharing your idea!

    I purchased mine from Etsy! I've purchased from the same store each time. I think she does great work, and they ship fast to. I've also purchased from my local quilt shop. Of course, those don't have my name on them. But they are cute and very funny! I'll have to get more when I go to the Quilt and Sewing Festival next weekend. Thanks Erica!!😉💐

    I have been using my embroidery machine for a simple label with my name, pattern information and the date. I love to try printing my own labels. I like the way you did the two tone fabrics, I'm going to give that part a try also! Thank you, Erica!💕

    I love my tagged from Sweetwater labels. I generally go with the subscription until I build up a good amount and selection of labels and then take a break for awhile till I make a dent in my supply and then restart my subscription. I’ve not found any other labels I enjoy and that I feel is as quality and lasting as these tagged labels 💕

    I needed this little tutorial. I am a new quilter and have been making projects as gifts. I got personalized labels from Etsy and haven't labled the 3 quilts I have made this last year as I wasn't sure to attach before or after quilting. I like it after. Thanks for the pertinent tutorial!

    Main problem I find is turning the quilt….or large throw….to stitch all four sides of the label. I ended up BACK stitching on the last one I did. Framing the label is a great idea. They look so much better. Thank you for your perfect instructions, as usual!

    Love seeing Jax in your sewing room. Thank you for this video because you have given me so many creative ideas. I now have a subscription to Sweetwater because it is so much neater than what I have been doing. Love the layering and I will probably hand sew them to the back of my guilts after they come back from the longarm. I am in the middle of making a baby quilt and decided to layer some cute little Sweetwater animals to the top. Sew cute. Always look forward to your next quilting tutorial.

    Great tutorial! My method is similar to yours, except after I fold back the fabric on the back of the label and iron it down, I use a little SeamAlign glue to keep everything in place. Lately, I've been making a small block from leftover fabric, and then I sew the Sweetwater label somewhere in the center.

    Hi Erica, Great tutorial, I haven't had the guts to sew a label onto a quilt I have already sent to the long arm. I have been trying to get it onto the back piece before sending it to the longarm, that way the label is attached and then quilted over so the label cannot be removed without ruining the quilting. I do have a quilt I need to add a label to that I did not label prior. I am going to give it a try. Thank you for the great ideas

    Instead of sewing the finished, stacked label on, and seeing the stitched from the front, could I use Heat 'n Bond on the back of that fabric and attach it to the quilt back? Would that hold well? I don't do hand stitching. Lol
    Thanks for this tutorial! 🩷

    You sewed the two fabrics, but not the actual label? Will the glue hold up thru washings?

      @erica_arndt  6 месяцев назад +1

      I sewed the label to the green fabric (see timestamp 7:55) and then I sewed the green fabric to the blue fabric, then the blue fabric to the quilt so it should stay put! :)

    Erica, how do those labels by Sweetwater feel after they are on and have been washed? I have several of those but they feel scratchy. Does that change? I needed this video! Thanks!

    • @erica_arndt
      @erica_arndt  Год назад

      They are fine, but still a bit stiffer than the other fabric, so you can tell there's a label on it. That said, you can also peel off the sticky side and just sew it in place. That will make it a bit softer after washing.
