    I am in the market for a fast 35mm-ish equivalent prime lens at the moment. Sadly I am not in love with the Sigma 23mm. It's a strong performer in terms of optics but god damn did they cheap out on features and - honestly - looks. It just doesn't look good. Also why would they change the filter diameter from 55mm to 52mm?! I am unable to use all of the 55mm filters I own now.
    Gonna wait for the Viltrox 27mm 1.2 E-mount version to be released. It is big and heavy, but I can live with that considering it is just as sharp, has an aperture ring, is moisture and dust resistant (the Sigma isn't), gathers more light, I can use my 67mm filters on it AND it does actually look quite nice :) And all of that for just about a 100 bucks more! Only draw back is likely gonna be AF, but I don't plan on shooting sports with it.
    Hurry up, Viltrox!

      @NOlimitsON  11 месяцев назад +1

      It seems like the viltrox is the best option for apsc cameras in this focal lengths (at least for photography).

    Dust sucking issues? never had that in 40 years of lenses that extend. It may happen but is really nothing to worry about. Loads of lenses extend and if this was really an issue, they would have stopped

    Would the 18-105 be the best for travel, everyday casual filming, documentary and sports? If so, then pair it with a 23 1.4/2.8 for lowlight ?

      I have the Sony 18-105mm F4. It's a very good video lens, as it has in-lens stabilization, and quite good image quality. But it's not the sharpest lens for photos, so bring another lens for sharp photos if you really care about sharpness in stills. If you're not that much of a pixel-peeper, then it's just fine for photos, too.

  • @DavidNJ1
    @DavidNJ1 10 месяцев назад +1

    The Tamron 17-70 does not have a switch to turn off the image stabilization. The A6700 doesn't seem to have a menu item to turn the lens image stabilization on or off, and in at least one review the lens image stabilization did not work well with the IBIS. Is there a way to turn it on and off? Does the lens stabilization work with the IBIS on the A6700? Does it work better with other Sony camera bodies such as the A7 or A7R?

    • @NOlimitsON
      @NOlimitsON  10 месяцев назад

      Unfortunately no… you either turn on both the ibis and the lens stabilization on, or turn both off
