We must be careful to not have spiritual pride. I have friends from other denominations that would claim the exact same thing you state here. They know their bibles and have the fruits of the spirit. They can defend their beliefs with scripture, we just look at the Bible through a different lens.
After this study, if you still believe that Azazel is the good guy, you have just shut your eyes and ears and chosen to believe Satan’s lies willfully. If this is your case, you’re in grave danger for rejecting the Holly Spirit, and when we reject the work of the Spirit and attribute it to Satan, God has no channel thru whom He can communicate with us, therefore we’re lost. I have been Adventist for a couple years now and never even considered that Michael would be such a hot topic. I am so thankful this is being brought to light so other people can show interest in our beliefs and so us Adventists can open our eyes to see that we too need more study, not just to believe but to defend.

Preston has such a compassionate heart for his brothers and sisters. I have been an SDA for over 8 years and I came from a non denomination Christian church. I will forever be grateful as the church ignited the flame and my path started to seek Jesus. After a while I felt I needed more, I studied other religions but came to SDA and feel that SDA is the closest thing I found to the truth. I agree that People can misrepresent by legalism and forceful beliefs but I believe you can find that at any church, religion and Denominations. When I heard the Ex SDA speaker say thing thinfs he said about thr SDA church… I was like ok that is not true, but did not know the scriptures by heart to defend what I felt. I remained still and kept myself open to the truth. But this sound teaching supported by the Word of God is the reproof I needed! A major cause of he issue is that many don't believe the Old Testament is relevant so that it is hard to explain line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little.

I just love that Jesus is Michael. It is just such a powerful and beautiful thing. And Michael leaving Heaven to help humans and becoming one of them must have been such a sad day for the angels.
@@jimbob1644 Also the text does not say that he cannot defend himself against the Devil. It said he dared not bring a railing accusation...But said the Lord rebuke thee. Why? Because if Michael listed Satan's sins, Satan would have said Moses is guilty of the same. So Michael says "The Lord rebuke thee" since it's the Lord's righteousness that covers Moses and all who follow God. Perhaps this is why Jude ends the chapter by saying "Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, And to present you faultless Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy..." Jude 24-25.

Here we see that the Lord has the voice of the Archangel Michael and raises the dead. We know this has to be Jesus because only He can raise the dead to eternal life. Also, Michael is the only one ever referred to as "The" Archangel. He is also called the Great Prince and the one who stands for thy People. These are all descriptions of Jesus. Another thing to keep in mind is that just like God can become a man and still be God, He can also be an angel and still be God. He is God first then whatever form He chooses to take. He took the form of man to teach humans about God and He took the form of Angels to commune with them and lead them and teach them about God before giving Himself forever to the human race.

In Early Writings pages 69-70, Ellen White "saw that those who oppose the Sabbath of the Lord could not take the Bible and show that our position is incorrect; therefore they would slander those who believe and teach the truth and would attack their characters." The slander you've been receiving over the Perry's situation is a fulfillment of this. Preach the Word!

Problem is people are studying out of emotions rather than logic, so the word doesn’t have the effect that it really should on the mind. We ought to study for ourselves so the word can be hidden in our hearts.
So did the people Jesus describes in Mt 7:21-24. Read Jesus' words in Jn 8:31-36 if you need convincing that truth is a vital part of the gospel. The SDA church believes that God alone is the judge & that people from all churches will be judged on how they lived according to what they knew so we expect people to be saved from all faiths although Jesus also says there will be "one flock and one shepherd." Jn 10:16 which is why we expect a latter rain Holy Spirit inspired movement to bring Jesus faithful followers into unity.

We experience salvation when we believe by faith that the God of agape-love sent his son to save the world so none perish (John 3:16, 15, 17; Romans 5:6, 8, 10) while we were ungodly, breakers of the law of agape-love & his enemies.
46:07 a good example. A big former mystic who became a Christian. She agreed to be filmed for an interview. I love this sister. But she asked what type of church I attend. I said SDA. She isn’t willing to even have a conversation because she says “nope you Adventists believe Jesus is Michael, an angel, a created being and nothing you say will convince me otherwise!” I even had one of our top theologians reach out and send her an email about this and she just shut her ears and didn’t want to engage.
As Ivor says that is sad however when we consider how many people rejected the truth when Jesus was explaining it to them it is no surprise that people can still reject the clearest explanation of truth. As long as we are acting in love we shouldn't let those who reject truth get us down, hopefully some of them will change especially if we can stay friends with them.
"A person convinced against their will, is of the same opinion still." However, private prayers (intercession) on behalf of others can work wonders. (James 5:16, 17.. ).
Praise God for this clear expose on this topic. I have found over and over and over that critics of SDA theology almost always have a very weak argument, no a base accusation leveled against us. And the response from faithful ministers like you cast those charges in the dust. The most thorough argument of late leveled against SDA theology is that of Robert Breaker, a Baptist minister, and his arguments were weak. If you are bent on coming up against the truth of God's word, in His name I might add, you're gonna have egg on your face. May God guide the hearts of His people everywhere to follow the Lamb wherever He goes. May the word of truth penetrate their hearts, and may God give them the resolve to break the shackles of error that seek to bind them in perpetual darkness. May the rays of Jesus' truth shine on them.
Let's also remember the Son of God is also called the son of man so why can't He be referred to as Michael the Archangel? These are a few of the names that are referring to the same Being. My Lord and Savior...Jesus Christ
Jesus took the bodily form of those He primarily interacted with. In heaven primarily Angels… now primarily humans. Amen…. Michael the Archangel… Jesus the Man God.
The answer to these kinds of attacks are always in the scripture itself. In Leviticus 16 20-22 as you noted, the atonement was completed. Then the one who is truly accountable is called for in the typical service and the iniquity of all of Israel is placed on the scapegoat. The scapegoat doesn't die, without the shedding of blood there is no remission (payment) for sin. No atonement was required for the other goat, the scapegoat. And besides that, if one goat is for the Yahweh as is recorded in the beginning verses, then who is the other goat for? Thank you for sharing, the answer is always in the text. Thy way oh Elohim is in the Sanctuary. Psalm 77:13.
And on another note, I have no problem with being called a cultist. At its beginning the Church of God was considered an outlier of judiasm and a sect or cult and it was considered heresy. Paul gives a robust and confident answer in Acts 24, when he stands before Félix here it is. But considering the times our people were living in and the robust response from racist groups it was more prudent for her words to be accepted as a guide. There are other things that could be considered as racist but they still seem prudent. She complained that whites might be stirred up especially if there was too much truth being preached by people of color. That's the way it was un the South, history confirms that. Abd Ellen White left an endowment to the Oakwood manual training school, it's now called Oakwood University. Her son Edson White ran a riverboat ministry baptising and ministering to many people if color yo abd down the mississippi river. This he did with his mother's blessing. It would be difficult to prove her racist.

He demands answer, i hope he take the time, humble himself which is very hard to do, especially if he's leading some sheep who pay him a salary, to study with the sdas, and learn bible truth and bible principles, and do it soon as his salvation depends on knowing what it truth, as only the truth can make you free from sin and sinning, because only the truth can sanctify you/ make you holy. I left the SDA church 2 years ago. My one and only reason is because the Bible doesn’t teach what the SDA teaches. Since I left my relationship with God is so much stronger, I live with my God who saved me. Yes, my life changed. But not for worse, it’s for better. I know I am saved right now, I have no fear, and I absolutely love Jesus and know Him on a personal level.

I dont know any Christian scholar or pastor who will claim azazel is not some how reference to evil. But the Hebrew text does not call the scape goat azazel, it says the goat was sent out of the camp to azazel. (Wilderness, evil) not a specific being but away from God. Jesus is the Lamb who takes away the sins of the world, even a child can make the connection to Jesus and the scape goat. He Jesus is the sacrificial lamb , pure without blemish. Revelation 13 never mentions the Sabbath. Those who don't worship the beast will be killed. The Bible never speaks about a Sunday law.

We must be careful to not have spiritual pride. I have friends from other denominations that would claim the exact same thing you state here. They know their bibles and have the fruits of the spirit. They can defend their beliefs with scripture, we just look at the Bible through a different lens.
After this study, if you still believe that Azazel is the good guy, you have just shut your eyes and ears and chosen to believe Satan’s lies willfully. If this is your case, you’re in grave danger for rejecting the Holly Spirit, and when we reject the work of the Spirit and attribute it to Satan, God has no channel thru whom He can communicate with us, therefore we’re lost.

I am so thankful this is being brought to light so other people can show interest in our beliefs and so us Adventists can open our eyes to see that we too need more study, not just to believe but to defend.

Preston has such a compassionate heart for his brothers and sisters. I have been an SDA for over 8 years and I came from a non denomination Christian church. After a while I felt I needed more, I studied other religions but came to SDA and feel that SDA is the closest thing I found to the truth. I agree that People can misrepresent by legalism and forceful beliefs but I believe you can find that at any church, religion and Denominations.

Here we see that the Lord has the voice of the Archangel Michael and raises the dead. We know this has to be Jesus because only He can raise the dead to eternal life. Also, Michael is the only one ever referred to as "The" Archangel. He is also called the Great Prince and the one who stands for thy People. These are all descriptions of Jesus. Another thing to keep in mind is that just like God can become a man and still be God, He can also be an angel and still be God. He is God first then whatever form He chooses to take. He took the form of man to teach humans about God and He took the form of Angels to commune with them and lead them and teach them about God before giving Himself forever to the human race.

Problem is people are studying out of emotions rather than logic, so the word doesn’t have the effect that it really should on the mind. We ought to study for ourselves so the word can be hidden in our hearts.
The catholics i know have a great and deep love for JESUS a lot deeper then a few protestants i have met .
So did the people Jesus describes in Mt 7:21-24. Read Jesus' words in Jn 8:31-36 if you need convincing that truth is a vital part of the gospel. The SDA church believes that God alone is the judge & that people from all churches will be judged on how they lived according to what they knew so we expect people to be saved from all faiths although Jesus also says there will be "one flock and one shepherd." Jn 10:16 which is why we expect a latter rain Holy Spirit inspired movement to bring Jesus faithful followers into unity.

We experience salvation when we believe by faith that the God of agape-love sent his son to save the world so none perish (John 3:16, 15, 17; Romans 5:6, 8, 10) while we were ungodly, breakers of the law of agape-love & his enemies.
46:07 a good example. A big former mystic who became a Christian. She agreed to be filmed for an interview. I love this sister. But she asked what type of church I attend. I said SDA. She isn’t willing to even have a conversation because she says “nope you Adventists believe Jesus is Michael, an angel, a created being and nothing you say will convince me otherwise!” I even had one of our top theologians reach out and send her an email about this and she just shut her ears and didn’t want to engage.

As Ivor says that is sad however when we consider how many people rejected the truth when Jesus was explaining it to them it is no surprise that people can still reject the clearest explanation of truth. As long as we are acting in love we shouldn't let those who reject truth get us down, hopefully some of them will change especially if we can stay friends with them.

Praise God for this clear expose on this topic. I have found over and over and over that critics of SDA theology almost always have a very weak argument, no a base accusation leveled against us. And the response from faithful ministers like you cast those charges in the dust.
The most thorough argument of late leveled against SDA theology is that of Robert Breaker, a Baptist minister, and his arguments were weak.
If you are bent on coming up against the truth of God's word, in His name I might add, you're gonna have egg on your face.

The answer to these kinds of attacks are always in the scripture itself. In Leviticus 16 20-22 as you noted, the atonement was completed. Then the one who is truly accountable is called for in the typical service and the iniquity of all of Israel is placed on the scapegoat. The scapegoat doesn't die, without the shedding of blood there is no remission (payment) for sin. No atonement was required for the other goat, the scapegoat. And besides that, if one goat is for the Yahweh as is recorded in the beginning verses, then who is the other goat for? Thank you for sharing, the answer is always in the text. And on another note, I have no problem with being called a cultist. At its beginning the Church of God was considered an outlier of judiasm and a sect or cult and it was considered heresy. Paul gives a robust and confident answer in Acts 24, when he stands before Félix here it is.

@@WendyAllen-fq4sh there is a book written by RlE G White titled "The Southern Work" in that book written during slavery times in the South she was very clear to say that blacks should not seek association with whites, that may be one instance where her words would now he interpreted as racist. But considering the times our people were living in and the robust response from racist groups it was more prudent for her words to be accepted as a guide. There are other things that could be considered as racist but they still seem prudent. She complained that whites might be stirred up especially if there was too much truth being preached by people of color. That's the way it was un the South, history confirms that. Abd Ellen White left an endowment to the Oakwood manual training school, it's now called Oakwood University. Her son Edson White ran a riverboat ministry baptising and ministering to many people if color yo abd down the mississippi river. This he did with his mother's blessing. It would be difficult to prove her racist.

I left the SDA church 2 years ago. My one and only reason is because the Bible doesn’t teach what the SDA teaches. Since I left my relationship with God is so much stronger, I live with my God who saved me. Yes, my life changed. But not for worse, it’s for better. I know I am saved right now, I have no fear, and I absolutely love Jesus and know Him on a personal level.

Those are a summary of the Ten Commandments. Fist four describes love for God, last 6 is love for neighbor.

I dont know any Christian scholar or pastor who will claim azazel is not some how reference to evil. But the Hebrew text does not call the scape goat azazel, it says the goat was sent out of the camp to azazel. (Wilderness, evil) not a specific being but away from God.
Jesus is the Lamb who takes away the sins of the world, even a child can make the connection to Jesus and the scape goat. He Jesus is the sacrificial lamb , pure without blemish.
