Go try to shoot a bolt action at 100 yards (which sounds like a lot but is nothing) watch how much that scope wobbles when you breathe or your heart beats.
They need to make sawed off shotguns legal again. They are the perfect close quarters home defense weapon. You don't want to be bumping a long barrel into shit or giving the intruder something to reach for in a life or death situation.
