Nice video. Please list the part numbers for the three sealing washers for the fill plug, check plug and drain plug. The fill plug sealing washer on my Ridgeline is 24 mm ID so I need to know if the TLX is the same.
Should you change it completely? Or just top off? I think you just topped off here. I have acura tlx same this car have 107000 miles on it now.. wondering what to do ?
Well I think when you have high miles it eats away at it lol by lil but I would never change the fluid again last time I did that my transmission went bye bye but topping off is always key
@@pedronavaja223s if your transmission failed after a fluid change it’s because you ran it so long with old fluid you damaged it. Fresh fluid doesn’t cause transmission damage, not changing it does. Anyone who knows anything about Hondas knows that it’s never too late to start changing fluid. Fresh fluid fixes 99% of shifting issues in Honda transmissions.
@@johnb1658 well what happen was yeah it was already having the metal shavings when I dumped it & filled it is when it messed up now I never change it I just top off like right now I don’t know what to do because I bought a Acura tlx with 350k for 4k pretty mint drives really good the guys used to drive from Virginia to Florida 25k miles a year but I don’t know if I should change mine or just top off
@@pedronavaja223s bro i have Acura TLX 2015 you can't top it OFF transmission oil in it because it doesn't have dip stick option its fully sealed the only way is to change the oil completely just like i did after 100000 miles and nothing really happened this means its fine my transmission must be happy from inside lol now 112000 miles on it.
@@dbdnrbdb I’m @70k was told by another shop not till 100k dealers don’t even recommend they want me to change it at every 10k lol business so I asked some other reputable Honda Acura mechanic shop.
@martiantv805 you are crazy. Wtf. I'm a mechanic & you gonna tell me that you don't gotta change your fluid for 100k miles? You trippin hard. Do you. You love rolling the dice, I'd rather be safe than sorry. It's a super easy DIY and a very cheap procedure if you feel like you need to pay to get it done. All said and done you just too lazy to get it done. Plus you live in a shity area with shit people who only think of themselves. Santa maria, oxnard, ventura.. all of those areas are full of shit holes. Do your research, don't trust anyone.. including me, go search it up. If you want your transmission to be in tip top shape by 200k miles you should change it every 30k.. at 100k you gonna have a transmission that has all kinds of jerks& slips. Even if minor with the tranny still running but I promise it will annoy you and ruin your day to day life & every car ride you take.
@scottsass5053 don't listen to the manual , lots of cars don't even have transmission fluid intervals. It's every 30k. Why yall so cheap to just get it done?

hey i’d like to youse the x431 could it help initialize my jeep compass transmission
Do you have to go underneath the car to undo and put back on the level check plug? Or can it be done from the engine bay?
What about transmission fluid filter?
Going to drain and change mines good info on the procedure local dealer here wanted 400 rip off
Does this work for 2021 Acura tlx? is it the same?
Is this correct? From what I have read, your not supposed to have the car running when checking the fluid level.

There is never a reason to top it off unless there is a leak. Trans fluid doesn’t disappear.
