Awesome vid man!
Thank you!
this is very detail video, thank you.
Thank you!
Thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching!
Good stuff!
🙌
Awesome video. Thank you
Thanks!
Have a 2017 Accord Sport SE with a CVT tranny. I just did my fluid change at 80k miles and I didn’t bother with the check bolt. I did a drain and fill which was 4 quarts. Honda says to change the CVT fluid every 30 but I drive it kinda hard at times and I’ll be doing it every 20k. Fluid is cheap, transmissions are expensive
@@miguelvillanueva6542 nice job 👏
You don't need to bother with the little level check bolt. Just drain and refill with the exact amount in your owner's manual. Mine listed 5.1 quarts and that's exactly what drained out so I refilled with 5 quarts + 4 ounces and everything's good. You can also access the fill plug from above and stick a hose in the opening. Then just use a funnel and let gravity do the rest. My car is a 2021 TLX SH-AWD with the 2.0 engine.
On most cars yes, in the type s there’s zero space without having to remove airbox
Great video! Thanks! Can you do a video about changing the antifreeze on the TLX? I don't know if it has a engine block drain port.
That's another great video, thanks man! How much would you charge to do this service?
Shoot me an email, bcautosolutions20@gmail.com
ZF9 speed next!
So much simpler but yes it’s on the list 😅
Awesome video. going do it on my mdx type s soon, currently at 25k miles. Do you recommend change filter or wait until 2nd time doing it?
Wait until the second time. I’ll have a video on that by then
I've got over 34k on mine so Acura changed it at around 28k
🙌
great video bro. will it be the same steps for a 4cyl. TLX?
Thank you for your time.
Thank you and yes.
What about the oil filter on the transmission? I didn’t see you talk about it. Can you talk about that in the next video for a 22 Acura MDX all-wheel-drive I got
I will be doing a video on how to replace it
Bro should we only use honda/acura transmission fluid? Or can I use Amsoil or Liqui Moly??? I’m just curious because I’ve been running on Liqui Moly Molygen oil, really love it over oem oil and Mobil 1. Just ordered Amsoil signature series oil and will be testing that out. But it’s time for me to do rear diff, and while I’m at it I’m gonna do transfer case and trans fluid. I drive my car hard, just trying to see if there’s a better option than Honda oem fluids… Thank you!
Yes, recently just did one with full line of amsoil fluids.
What are your thoughts on fluid film for the undercarriage. I have a 2020 Honda Passport
If your in a high corrosive area 💯 do it. Aka beach towns or where salt and brine is frequently applied in the winter.
Don't you have to put the vehicle is VSA mode and is there a certain temperature range you're suppose to be at before checking the fluid?
Assuming the transmission was filled to a correct level at the factory, would just draining it and refilling it with the exact amount of fluid that was drained work?
(No driving and taking the 12mm fluid level screw out)
Thanks.
Yes, that is correct.
Which one is more reliable?acura or honda?please your advice😊
More tech = more fail points. So Honda it is.
@@BCautosolutions thanks Dad☺️
Do you recommend taking an Acura into any Honda dealer for service?
Yeah why not, we service Acuras all the time. Typically cheaper labor.
I had tranny services on our 13 RDX at my local Honda Dealer..
My type S got 60k miles and I just bought the previous owner never did it, but I’m scared to do it. I’m afraid if I change it itll go out.
At 60k it’ll be fine, get it done 👍🏻
Will you eventually Change the Trans filter? I believe the part Number is 25450-P4V-013. Correct me if I’m wrong.
Yes I will. Plan on making a video. Should be out in 2-3 weeks
Sounds great, Your a legend dude. I wish you were in Nashville or somewhere near too me.
@@salihmohamed7759 appreciate it
do we need to leave the car in code condition for transmission fluid change? thanks
No
You mentioned another video for transfer case...is it separate or integrated with the trans? I didnt think it was separate.
It’s separate on the 10at
@@BCautosolutions video of that change yet? Your videos have been really helpful with this car not getting a lot of support
@@jessebrocious5341 no but I will have one in about 1-2 months tops along with changing the trans filter as well 🫡
I have accord with 10 speed trans so how many miles i should drive before change oil first time, so far I have little over 2k miles.
Every 3k
@@BCautosolutions what about transmission?
@@Tashketskiy Im curious to know what the service manuel says on transmission fluid change interval. is it the same as in the Acura counterparts?
@@Tashketskiy depending how you drive it and mods, 15-30k
I like how Honda jumped on the sealed transmission bandwagon 🤡🤡
😅
Is this any diffent to the 2019 Acura Tlx .
Yes
what year Acura TLX here in your video please?
2021
can i bring you my type s to do trans flush ??? 😁
Yes of course. Shoot me an email, bcautosolutions20@gmail.com
Can we just fill fluid through the level check bolt hole? That avoids having to replace 3 crush washers, and messing with 3 bolts.
I’m thinking you can snake down a rubber hose and fill with a funnel from engine bay into fill hole or even vent hole atop trans? Thanks for the details!
The level check bolt is tiny and would take forever. In this case it’s always best to check the level. There is a vent hole at the top although on the tlx type s it’s not accessible due to hardware being in the way.
How many mileage after changing transmission oil?
I recommend at the latest every 30k
How much is this service at a dealer?
Thinking about picking one up.
Few hundred depending on the local labor rate
I got quoted on the 22 MDX a spec almost $700 they told me to wait to the 60,000 miles I told him no I’m doing it right now at 33,000 and they kept telling me to just wait that it doesn’t need it yet but I’m still doing it myself
This is labor cost in Fresno California
@@gerardohernandez8901 that’s insanity.
Our dealership quoted 500 for 2023 MDX A spec at 15k miles for rear diff amd Trans service.
I told them I would wait until 30k.
I also have the 10 speed for an RDX, but keep seeing different procedure for the check level. I seen one say idle the car till normal temperature while shifting through the gears and when the radiator fan kick in twice to shut off the car then proceed to open the check level bolt. Does it matter if i do either way with just in mind the engine needs to be fully warmed? Thank you!.
