      At that rate, in a year, he would lose 156 lbs which would make him go down to 127lbs which is a healthy weight for someone of Scarra's height of 5'8 if he were not to exercise. Given that he would be exercising, even 140lbs would be great with enough muscles which means that, theoretically speaking, Scarra could achieve peak physical health in less than a year if he were to continue this trend for the next 10 to 11 months.

      Toast definitely threw on purpose. He basically started off with stating "I'm gonna do this on my own. I'm gonna do every common method that's ineffective".
      Probably so there is some contrast to the video, and to show what doesn't work.

    This gave me the motivation to go back to the gym today. It felt amazing, even though my muscles are burning.
    Had to start anxiety medication back in early september last year. The first meds I tried broke me more than anything. Gained 30 pounds (from 190 to 220) in less than 4 months and felt lethargic. Couldn’t train for more than a few minutes or work for more than four hours a day.
    On my new meds now and it took 6 months before the damage from the side effects of the other one.
    This video helped a lot. Seeing Scarra go through all these efforts gave me a good kick to get back up and make healthy changes to my lifestyle. My trainer was also happy to see that.
    Never thought I would thanks OTV for that, except the usual laughs. I doubt they will see this, but this helped me to kickstart my journey again. Thanks guys!

    Losing weight is so much more complex than most people think. Between genetics, metabolism, and lifestyle, losing weight is not as simple as a number on a scale. Extra weight comes in the form of water, protein, fat, and muscle. Losing 13 lbs in 4 WEEKS is absolutely incredible! Best wishes, Scarra! You're a damn beast!

    • @devinperry95
      @devinperry95 19 дней назад +10

      I see where you are coming from but losing weight is in fact as simple as a number. Calorie deficit = weight loss.

    • @stuntmonkey00
      @stuntmonkey00 19 дней назад +1

      In the beginning there's a lot of weight that comes off quickly because most people overeat carbs, and carbs (glycogen) are stored bound up with water. So that initial drop is "water weight." Long term, yes, being in caloric deficit is the key.

    • @alexwilliamson338
      @alexwilliamson338 19 дней назад +6

      Nah, it's way simpler than people think. Calorie deficit equals weight loss. It's a simple law of thermodynamics. What does the weight coming off being either water, fat, or muscle (not protein like you said) impact it? Trick question, it doesn't. As long as you lift heavy and eat adequate protein to try to maintain as much muscle as possible, 1g per lean body mass, the rest literally doesn't matter. Don't over-complicate it, it's a very simple process. The hard part is knowledge and putting in the work everyday. Anyone can do it.
