Your videos are helpful, informative, just enough detail without leaving out important stuff. The torque specs (as found on Amsoil site) are 20 ft-lb on transfer case (fill and drain plugs) and 22 ft-lb on manual transmission (fill and drain plugs). I appreciate you, brother.
I actually enjoy fluid changes like this. They're fairly easy to do, and I find watching the fluid drain out soothing. It's also a nice feeling driving around the vehicle knowing that they're all fresh fluids in the drivetrain. I bought a fluid transfer pump for like 7 bucks from my local discount store tool section, and it made filling the transfer case and differentials so much easier. I just poured the quarts into a clean 1 gallon container, and just filled from that.
I'm a little late to the party, but thanks to your videos I just finished changing my front and rear diff fluids, my transfer case fluid, and my manual trans fluid. Lubelocker gaskets front and rear, and nary a leak anywhere. Thanks for making it easy enough that I could do it!
Just changed all my fluids in the drivetrain: differential fluid, 6-speed manual transmission fluid, and of course the transfer case fluid. Almost 78,000 miles on the fluid and it all came out as clean as when new. I use Amsoil products as replacement fluids. Best there is.
I can’t thank you enough for all the detail and work you put into your videos. They really are great and super helpful! Thanks for all the awesome content!
Aftermarket driveshafts greased, transmission and transfer case fluids changed, went ahead with front differential fluid too… stopped there and started taping/painting my Metalcloak diff covers so they’re ready for the next project-4.5” lock ‘n load plus HD steering with all parts sitting right in my garage. For reals: I’ve appreciated all of your videos. Entire Metalcloak overline system plus routine maintenance plus lift and steering next… *cheers* and hope to see you out there some day. Fml when you said 30k intervals bc I have had my jeep since it had 100k miles on it and now it’s close to 200k and I have never changed that fluid 😅 I will get to that now lol

Jason, thank you for the inspiration, my oil change is due soon so I ordered the fluids and tools for my trans and transfer case. I need to do the diff's as well but that will be another day, I am anticipating a fight with the skid plate, I don't think it's ever been off and my rig is 12 years old now. I appreciate you making that an easy shopping experience. PEACE
Great video! After seeing this, I changed the fluid in mine yesterday! I needed to buy a T55 torx bit for the fill plug. For the skid plate, I removed the two back bolts and one front bolt. I loosened the other front bolt, and then just rotated the skid plate out of the way without having to remove it completely. This made it very easy! Thanks for the advice and encouragement!

Just did the leaky transmission on my wife 05 4.0 it was a mess I had to drill out 6 bolts as they were stripped out from the previous owner i did the differentials front and back already too now its transfer case tomorrow good video
Question on semi vs full. When ordering from Amazon via the link in the description, they shipped full synthetic vs the semi that you used in the video. Will the full work or does it need to be the semi? Thanks
Good question... after a bit of research I found the semi (used in this video) is a little more universally compatible to older vehicles but the FULL synthetic is actually far superior in quality and is better for use in these Jeeps. I will actually order that next time... so thanks for that little inspiration for better knowledge!
I used a little hand pump that screws onto the top of the cap from autozone. Helps also with the gear oil change to the front differential where mine is blocked off from getting the bottle to the fill hole.
Nice. there's something about mary👍👍 one of my favorites. I just did my 6speed on my 16 JKUR with the Royal purple like you used and I just came up a little short on the fluid. And couldn’t get the last drop in so I had to get a 3rd bottle. But I let it drain for a couple hours. Great video again 👍

My dealer told me it’s not recommended to change the oil for our transfer cases (automatic). True or false? Idk why they would tell me that.
What model? Your vehicle manual will specify... for my Jeep Wrangler it clearly states 60,000 mile change for transfer case fluid.
@@AutoEdits Hello! I have a 2016 Jeep Wrangler Jk 4dr, 3.6L V6 with an automatic transmission.
That does need to be changed just like I show in this video.
@@AutoEdits Thank you so much, you're the best!
Is it the same with automatic transmission?
Yes
coolant flush ?
It's on the list... I'm a little early for that but will bump it up for video.

@@AutoEdits 🤣
anyone know if a 2017 jeep cherokee sport uses a 1 speed or 2 speed transfer case?
does it have 4 low or just 4 high? that's how you tell ... 4 low means 2 speeds
@@AutoEdits oh man..im not sure. i know i need the transfer case removed. the mechanic is charging $3k. so i figured maybe i can buy the part myself and it would be cheaper. he just drove the car and said it was a 2 speed but i thought you could only tell by looking at the tag on the transfer case? i just wanted to be sure before buying it.
@@marinellym8444you can tell by checking on the center console if you have a big ol lever with some markings next to it of which some will read "4L" and "4H". That's a "2 speed" transfer case.
and I didn't change the filter?
no filter
Sanctum (2011)
I don't think I've ever seen that one... glad you threw that in for me to look up!

15 to 25 ftlbs fill and drain.....
fair enough
Hey man can i do the transfer case change before changing the transmission fluid? Do the fluid mix at all?
Yes you can. They don't mix at all if everything is operating correctly. The transfer case fluid has a shorter service interval as well.
Do you have to change the transmission fluid and filter at the same time?
No, you do the transmission separately.
Is the transfer case different than changing your transmission fluid? I have a 2016 Jeep sarhara wrangler
Yes they are different. If you have an automatic transmission use this video as a reference ruclips.net/video/OgDjcyQ8zEU/видео.html If you have a manual transmission Jeep, use this video as a how to ruclips.net/video/iLValUXNCqk/видео.html
@@AutoEdits thank you for clarifying that!
