Color catchers I use all the time in my laundry. I think it was Jan hicks that uses it and vinegar with anything she thinks will bleed along with her fabric detergent

What's weird is that I have "Elf Tree" all kitted up to begin stitching it in May so if you do decide to do the same, let me know! :) I always look next to and behind the person who created the floss tube I'm watching to see what they have around them that they have stitched and I fell in love with your trio of flowers. I looked for the pattern on line and eventually found it on Etsy and you created it!!!! I purchased that one in addition to a few others of yours. Once I complete the bunnies I'm stitching, I am going to stitch your "Halloween Haunted House". My bunnies are all white, beige and grey so I need to stitch something with COLOR next! I want to stitch some Halloween, Autumn and Winter in between Spring and Summer to get a start on them!!! I'll share it with you once I complete it. That’s the only reasons I will leave a dangling thread cause they drive me loco. One other reason is if I want to bury threads and don’t want to flip to the back

It felt like I'd been stitching the chameleon for ages but it really wasn't! I fear I may not get to the framers very soon but it will be worth it 😄 I'm amazed by my Rossa progress and excited/nervous for the beading. I'd recently heard about the petite beads too and hoping I can manage without them but I'll definitely bear it in mind. I've been going with 28 count on all other fancy ladies since then...just in case 😂 Yes, the avocado plushie is new...well spotted! 👀 I meant to mention it but totally forgot. It was a surprise gift from Tim...no particular reason other than I'd said I liked it 😄 I need to remember to mention it next time 😂
Hey Kat, question about your mermaid piece you've finished the stitching on: Do you wash and iron it before you add the beading, or after? (Or does she not get washed at all, due to hand-dyed fabric and metallic thread. So much to consider!)
That is a question I'm still trying to figure out the answer to 😂 If I'm going to wash it, I'll do it before beading as the beads might not like being soaked, but there is a risk of colour run from the fabric. However, because it's so pale anyway, and if I use cold water it might be fine. I have such a lot of fabric margin that I reckon I'll cut off a piece to test. The metallic thread will get fine with washing but I would try to use less heat when ironing so it doesn't get melty 😱 Wash or no wash I'll definitely iron it before beading and it can always have another quick iron afterwards if it needs it...on a thick layer of towels to cushion the beads. I am still very much finding my way and learning with this project as it will be my first beaded one!

I'm actually fairly new to your channel, as I've only recently returned to cross stitching after a good few years, but I'm finding it very informative and really good fun, so thank you very much. I do love seeing all your beautiful projects and I especially love the Chameleon.
I have never stitched on Eavenweave, so that beautiful Shimmer fabric would be lovely to try out, and a Grumpy needleminder would be a perfect addition to my quite limited(currently) kit. 😊

Yup, so colourful 😍 Never tried colour catchers or vinegar...I think that would scare me more than just washing it in cold water 😂
Color catchers I use all the time in my laundry. I think it was Jan hicks that uses it and vinegar with anything she thinks will bleed along with her fabric detergent

Congratulations on finishing your chameleon!!! It is amazing!!! All of your stitching is amazing, though!!! My birthday is in May, also! The 3rd. Are you a Taurus, also? What's weird is that I have "Elf Tree" all kitted up to begin stitching it in May so if you do decide to do the same, let me know! :) I always look next to and behind the person who created the floss tube I'm watching to see what they have around them that they have stitched and I fell in love with your trio of flowers. I looked for the pattern on line and eventually found it on Etsy and you created it!!!! I purchased that one in addition to a few others of yours. Once I complete the bunnies I'm stitching, I am going to stitch your "Halloween Haunted House". My bunnies are all white, beige and grey so I need to stitch something with COLOR next! I want to stitch some Halloween, Autumn and Winter in between Spring and Summer to get a start on them!!! I'll share it with you once I complete it. Can't wait to see the beading :). Apparently you can also get petite beads that are the same color and may work better on 32? I haven't done beading yet, but heard that. I'm amazed by my Rossa progress and excited/nervous for the beading. I'd recently heard about the petite beads too and hoping I can manage without them but I'll definitely bear it in mind. I've been going with 28 count on all other fancy ladies since then...just in case 😂
Yes, the avocado plushie is new...well spotted! 👀 I meant to mention it but totally forgot. It was a surprise gift from Tim...no particular reason other than I'd said I liked it 😄 I need to remember to mention it next time 😂

Hey Kat, question about your mermaid piece you've finished the stitching on: Do you wash and iron it before you add the beading, or after? (Or does she not get washed at all, due to hand-dyed fabric and metallic thread. So much to consider!)
That is a question I'm still trying to figure out the answer to 😂 If I'm going to wash it, I'll do it before beading as the beads might not like being soaked, but there is a risk of colour run from the fabric. However, because it's so pale anyway, and if I use cold water it might be fine. I have such a lot of fabric margin that I reckon I'll cut off a piece to test. The metallic thread will get fine with washing but I would try to use less heat when ironing so it doesn't get melty 😱
Wash or no wash I'll definitely iron it before beading and it can always have another quick iron afterwards if it needs it...on a thick layer of towels to cushion the beads.
I am still very much finding my way and learning with this project as it will be my first beaded one!
