How lovely to meet your Mum!! I got my Mum into cross stitching - but she never actually finished anything. Now I have inherited her WIPs - I may have to dig them out and finish them in her memory!! Hope you do some more videos with Mum!!
This was a beautiful video; really very precious and it’s so lovely that you have a go to person to talk to and stitch with and swap tips with. Your mum was a joy to watch and took immediately to the camera 🥰 would love to see her featured more on your channel! I lost my mum in 2022 and she didn’t really have any hobbies but she took up cross stitch for a short time in the 90s when she was recovering from a major operation and she started on a DMC tiger kit (she absolutely loved big cats). She didn’t manage to finish it and had only completed about 100 stitches before she went back to work. Last year, I was helping my dad sort through her things and found her abandoned project. Obviously, I’m an avid stitcher, so I have now committed to finishing her work. I can’t tell you how precious it will be to have a finished piece that she worked on. ❤ It’s a pretty rare kit because it’s so old, but I managed to track down another one of the same design (that was not started) on eBay and bought it for my sister in law who also loves cross stitch. I gave her that kit but swapped out the threads that came with it for my mum’s original threads, so even though my mum didn’t work on her copy, her one will still have part of my mum in it. 🥹

How lovely that you share a hobby with your mom! My mom taught me how to stitch as well (and her name is Lynda)😊. Sadly, my mom can't stitch anymore because she has arthritis, but we still love to talk about crafty things. ❤ I adore that doll house piece she's making! Happy stitching to you both! 😊

We’ve become so self-absorbed and focused on our own lives, so caught up in our own thoughts and desires that we forget about the unconditional love and care that our mothers have always provided us with. If only we could truly appreciate the depth of a mother's love… We are like the waves of the sea, constantly changing and moving. Let us not be like two pieces of striped fabric, emotionally detached from each other. Instead, let us be like two hearts - of the same colour, red or gold - beating in unison. (In the grand scheme of things, stitching may bring us temporary pleasure, but love is what truly matters in the end.)

Muuuuuum!!!!!!!! Love a good mum appearance. Oddly enough, the vast majority of my pieces when I stitched before are dotted about my mums house, and she has a binca flower pot mat from when I was 10 ish (I'd just started guides, so late 10 early 11) Confession time though, my stitches don't go the same way, I'm trying for the 2 gifts I'm doing but inevitably end up doing bits of everything because I find it more comfortable and natural

It's a nice thing to do but agree you should do what feels natural, and you may just find you end up doing it that way over time but no need to force it.
