    Hi Kat, I think the reds look absolutely fine. Neighbouring colours have quite an effect so proximity to all the browns is what makes it work overall. Mum x!

      Of course...that's a really good point about why it just works! Thanks Mum 🩷

    New stash fixes EVERYTHING! 🤣
    Had a bad day at work? A new needle minder will dull the pain.
    Got a flat tyre 100km from home in the middle of a thunderstorm? A rainbow collection of threads will sort that right out.
    Walked under a ladder in the company of a black cat, while breaking a mirror? The only thing for it is a mountain of fabric and a new kit or three. 👍
    Have a great birthday, Kat. 💐

    Hi Kat! I loved seeing your mom in your last video. You obviously inherited your mom’s beauty and love of cross stitch. It was nice seeing you lovely ladies together! I hope you have her on again! :). Her cross stitching is as amazing as yours. “House in the Woods” has great colors! LOVE! I also signed up for the Deadly Aquarium. It’s my first SAL and I am super excited!!! Thanks again for another great floss tube video! I always look forward to seeing you!

      @catkinandlillie  5 месяцев назад

      Thanks so much 😊 Yup, I definitely got my love of cross from Mum and it's so lovely to share a hobby 😄
      It was the simple but effective colour palette that drew me to House in the Woods...and I'm so close to finishing it now 😄
      That's brilliant that you are stitching Deadly Aquarium too and I hope you enjoy your first SAL! I think I only started my first SAL last year and loved it...which is why I now have quite a few SALs 😂

    Amazing progress on your 7 WIPS Kat! They are all looking sooo good! I do love your fabric choice it's a beautiful colour. But if it doesn't work for you then I'm excited to see why you come up with! I absolutely love your coffee Soda Stitch! Not forgetting the new Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery SAL! I'm also tempted with that! Happy Stitching 🐧💙

    How funny - I joined the Arctic Animals SAL too! I'm actually going to start dyeing my fabric today. 😊 I've also been thinking about doing the Deadly Aquarium but I hadn't seen any sneak peeks and I don't like buying blind. So thank you for the sneak peeks of that - I'm sold. 😂 I love the new coloring on the coffee gnome! Happy stitching! 😊

    That’s such a shame about the deadly aquarium but there’s no point in continuing if you’re going to loathe working on it, looking forward to seeing the new fabric! I’m so tempted to get the deadly aquarium and the arctic animals SAL but I want to see them finished first 😂😂 lovely projects as always!

    I really look forward to all of your videos. You have such a friendly way about you. I wish that I didn’t live 4000 miles away across the pond because I think it would be fun to have stitchy days with you in a Coffee shop sometimes. Also, I am proud of you for deciding to ditch your project and get a new piece of fabric. I did not do that with a recent project because I felt I had to stick with the called for fabric. And although it is very beautiful and soft and all of that, for me, it is a bear to stitch on. And so every time I touch that Project it makes me angry. Crosstitch should not make you angry. Just like I’m very glad you took my advice to color your gnome the color you want to look at not the one they tell you to. By the way, I think the berries are fine. And I turned down both of the SALs that you signed up for because I already have one and I’m having trouble keeping up with that but at least that was free. It’s by tiny modernist and you have to be a patron. It’s called Forest friends. It has a hedgehog. I lost my mind when I saw the hedgehog and, I’m having a ball. I hope you are well. Looking forward to the next one.

      Aw, thank you 😊 It would be awesome to really meet all the lovely folks like you who leave me sweet comments and we'd have such fun for sure 😄
      So sorry you have a project that's making you angry, but I hope you'll at least enjoy when it's done. It's not an easy decision to change tack with a piece as I feel kind of guilty...for no good reason, but it was totally the right call. I just have to be patient for the new fabric but I have lots of other fun to stitch while I wait 😄
      I saw that SAL by Tiny Modernist and it looks like such fun...that hedgehog really is too cute. I just had to be honest with myself that 3 SALs might be a bit much 😂 Ok, actually it would be 5 if you add the Wonders of the JWST and the Christmas mugs that I haven't touched for over a month 😬 So yeah...I'll stick to 4 🤣

    • @elizabethkrafnick5466

      😆😆I love the Christmas mugs! And the aquarium sal looks so tempting. I’ve seen cam stitch the two so far. And the Mommy Stitcher has struggled to finish her frosted pumpkin castle homecoming. So I will stick with my one I think. 😉

    Those arctic animals are so cute! I also don't need another SAL lol - I'm way behind in the only one I've started which is the stitching year long one from the World of Cross Stitch magazine. But arctic animals - especially penguins... I don't think I can resist that for long. I love all the gorgeous colours for fabrics. Shame about the start on your haunted aquarium, but that means you get the magic of starting a second time. :) I need to brush off my Instagram too - I am very bad at keeping up with it hehe.

      I have World of Cross Stitch magazine and that SAL is a gorgeous one 🪡😍 I am not doing it but did think I might do a few of the individual parts as small standalone pieces because they are so pretty.
      I definitely think you should just give in to the arctic animals but then I am a very naughty enabler like that 😂 Oh, but sadly no penguins...I would have loved that but they only live in the Antarctic...boo 😞
      Good point about the aquarium...it'll be double the excitement when I get to start it again 😆

    I'm new to flosstube and you are the first person I've subscribed to! I love seeing your updates of your progress! How many hours of stitching do you do in a week? On work days, I can only manage about an hour or so. I've recently started using Markup RXP for stitching my patterns and I love the stats it gives me. I thought I stitched more in an hour than I do! Do you use a program for your stitching, or just the paper patterns?

    • @catkinandlillie
      @catkinandlillie  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hello and welcome! I'm very honoured to be your first flosstube subscribe 😊
      I do almost all my stitching from paper patterns because I like my tablet free to watch flosstubes! Only the dragon is on Pattern Keeper, and no way could I do that any other way.
      I don't mind not having the stats to be honest. I am extremely lucky in how much I get to stitch because I only work 2 days a week and I don't have any kids or pets. I've never really added up how much I stitch though...maybe I'm worried I'll feel guilty if it's 'too much' which is nonsense because I'm an adult and I can stitch as much as I want!
      But ok, let's see...on a work day it's probably 1.5 - 2 hours, and on a non-work day it might be 2 - 3 hours but could easily be 4 - 5 hours on occasion. So I guess I could say average 3 hours a day, or 21 hours a week. Now I might have to record it one week just for interest! Well that was a long reply...but your question really got me thinking!
      I just think it's good to enjoy every stitch no matter how much or little time you get and definitely don't worry about what speed you go. 🩷🪡

      @rebeccas9488 5 месяцев назад

      @@catkinandlillie thank you for your reply. I agree you should enjoy what you do, it’s just that I’d like to stitch more! I’ve recently started my first HAED and couldn’t do it without Markup. That confetti is mind blowing!

    What is a SIP and a WIP. It is so hard when your titles contain abreviations that have no meaning to me. Help please.

    • @catkinandlillie
      @catkinandlillie  5 месяцев назад

      I'm not entirely sure which but you are referencing when you say 'titles' but yes, there are a lot of acronyms in cross stitch and although I do my best to remember to say what they mean I know I don't always just to save time.
      WIP is Work In Progress, so a project you are working on.
      SIP isn't an acronym I've used but perhaps you were thinking of SAL? That's Stitch-A-Long so a pattern that's being released in parts over an extended period of time.
      Hope that helps 😄
