I agree! The nose of the coffee gnome looks way better than the hand. If it was my project, I would go with the subtler colour. Your instincts told you to change it for a reason and I think it looks nicer. Stick with your gut 🥰

Julia is absolutely stunning! 😍 That is a hefty old embellishment pack for sure but she will look amazing with all the sparkly Kreinik, beads and bling! I've just finished watching Lauren, Cross Stitch Bunny's recent Fancy Lady Parade vid. Just wow! Sooo much gorgeousness! She has a seriously impressive stash that's for sure. As if I need any further temptation 🤣 Carolyn's tutorials are always really helpful. I've not watched her beading one but I've found others very useful. She was actually the very first FlossTuber that I discovered/subscribed to way back in 2016 I think it was. I'm really glad she decided to come back to FlossTube. Have you ever seen her HAED dragon? It is stunning! It was so nice to meet your lovely Mum in your FlossTube Extra video and see all her beautiful stitching. I missed stitching on my own birthday because of travelling, so this sounds like the perfect opportunity. Although I thought I already had Gaia and then turned out I didn't, so fingers crossed it gets here in time!. I love all the projects taking shape. The colours on that Chromatic dragon are just gorgeous.

On coffee gnome, why not make it your own and stitch what you’re going to want to look at. I think you’re going to frame it. Last year, all but two projects I did were gifts with definitely had deadlines. Eventually I dreaded them all. This year it’s all about me and I finally have joined the world of multiple wips (5?). I think I will want to finish some and just putter along others. So I guess both kind of stitcher also!
Yup, me and deadlines is usually a bad combination 😂 I think it's great to have a selection of WIPs and totally agree that some are more focussed on a finish and some putter along in the background. The "process vs product stitching" is interesting. I think I do both, depending on the piece. If it's a special piece I've earmarked as a gift for someone (or something special for myself I know I want framed), then yes, I often focus on the end (hopefully I'm still enjoying at least some of the process too!) Sometimes, though, I just want to stitch for the sake of stitching, and don't particularly care about the end product. This is usually the case for smaller, mini designs (bookmarks, etc). The pressure is off, then. Horses for courses. I think there's definitely space for a balance of both. As for stitching on trains: I don't know what the UK train service is like, but where I am, if I tried to stitch on a train, I'd end up stabbing myself, and everyone unfortunate enough to be near me, with the needle, and any stitches I did manage to complete would look like a three-year-old did it. I'll stick to the safety of my lounge room. 😂 (Sorry for all the edits, I'm commenting as I'm watching. Re: the coffee gnome skintone - definitely go with the subtler shade. 👍)
Great to hear your thoughts on process vs. product and I agree that it's all about balance 👍😄 To be fair to the train stitching I only did it on the longer (and fairly smooth) journey of about 90 mins from where I live to London and didn't stitch on the Tube trains in London itself...that would have been the exact nightmare you were envisioning 😂 Thanks for the input on my gnome and I am going to go with the subtler nose shading after a pretty landslide victory for that option 😄
We always love seeing the chromatic dragon. Great progress! Rossa is looking great with the beads. Congrats on the beading! I can't wait to get to beading on a project haha. Hi Kat let’s see I am a I guess truthfully I’m probably a combination. Producer/processor. The only reason I say that most goes in a box when finished and I like finishes. Tonight I worked the Guardian of the Magic forest by RTO… it’s my first dragon 🐉 and speaking of dragons I love yours ! 😂yeah I am with you on the year of the fancy ladies. I have Jasmine and Greta both to work on. I also have Julia mostly kitted just have to pull my DMC and she’s ready to go. 😊 I love having a travel project that I work on while farmer Will drives and I get to play passenger princess. I listen to RUclips in the evening while I stitch on my big screen tv easy to see verses phone. So if I don’t comment that’s why I will still hit the like and catch you IG. Excellent video. I use to watch football(🏈 but don’t anymore.

For the gnome, I prefer the adjustment that you made. It just feels more cohesive with the rest of the piece.

Try bracing your upper arms to your side it helps stabilize what ever your holding 😊
