The relay option is a great idea, but it may only works for older cars. A lot of 2005 and newer vehicles do not seem to have a relay specific to the turn signals, they use control modules instead.
I've went through TONS of led bulbs only to get hyperflash as soon as I install them! I havent heard anyone up until now talk about replacing the relay! Thanks for also inspiring me to make my own Ford Ranger videos 👍
Very simple and to the point - thx! I had previously used a resistor for my LED and that was a pain and the wiring looked ugly, glad to know there is a better and simpler option.
Thanks for the help! I love the light setup and I’m planning on doing the same to my K1500. I was hoping you could leave part numbers for all the bulbs you used as well as the relay.
Was putting in led turn signals and got hyper flash even after double checking them multiple times, this video helped and also your truck may have a bigger relay box than the one in the video like mine, double check by looking at yours before you buy one
*reduce the voltage and lover the load. Thats that resistor would do. But yah it solves cause too big load cause relay to heat faster and blink faster.
I have my 1987 GMC S15 Sierra Classic Mini P/U. I've tried multiple led bulbs with the low load flasher relay and nothing seems to work. I don't want to use the load resistors because the do run hot and can damage other wiring or the wiring circuit itself. Any suggestions would be helpful! As always, great vid like the others I've watched.
Thank You! This was terrific information. I just bought 6 LED lights for the turn signals/brake lights and parking lights on my 2014 F150. Will the one relay work for all or is there another solution? Thanks Again John
I didn't know there was an "issue" with the relay but I love the hyperflashing so Why "fix it" if I like it as it is? Could there be a problem eventually if I don't replace the relay?
Eventually your Right Turn Fuse and Left Turn Fuse will blow up and causing your blinkers not to work anymore to fix it you’ll have to replace the RT Fuse and the LT Fuse for it to work again is better to acquire a relay for LEDS Bulbs
First time hearing about changing the relay. Is this a potential solution for all/most vehicles or just the truck you were working on? I didn't see one for a 2017 Mazda CX5 on the A1 site.
Hi, Good video. I am still looking for the Turn Signal Relay on my 2021 Chev Silverado 1500. Any recommendations about the location where I can find it?
You FORGOT to mention newer, or so, vehicles that do NOT use a flasher!! Is Reprogramming the voltage configuration the solution?? If not, what? (no fire-hot, energy guzzling, expensive resistors, please)
Hello great information I upgraded all the lights on my 2002 Silverado to LEDs and installed the flasher controller you suggested. No hipper flashing but my cruise control stopped working. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you
+@bruceb8679 We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
I haven't looked yet but does the relay he removed control both sides or will you need a relay per each side? curious if I need to order multiple or just one
What happens if I get the realy but still have regular bulbs in the taillights and leds in the headlights. Would the taillights still function normal or should I also replace the tail lights with leds
So basically, changing flasher/relay, to fix hyper flashing, is only an option on older vehicles? I think most who viewed this particular entry already knew about load resistors.
It may vary by year and specific model. On my 2000 Silverado 2500, the relay is under the drivers side dash, to the left of the steering column. A bit tight to get to, but doable. I went to advance auto for a replacement flasher, and they listed one meant for LEDs. I can try to get the part number if you'd like.
@@notfrankjohnson could you please get that part number for me? thanks i’m advance….im trying to stop the hyperflash on my 2006 gmc sierra…it works sometimes but most of the time it has hyperflash
Replacing Flasher Relay is the most complete solution. And adding additional resistors is not a solution. Its main problem is that once the LED bulb is damaged, the vehicle will not give the driver a warning signal. The only drawback to replacing the Flasher Relay is the hassle. The Flasher Relay of many cars is difficult to replace and requires a lot of labor. If it is replaced by a repairman, it will cost a lot of money.
I have a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT AND I REPLACE ALL THE LIGHTS WITH LED but the directional signal is flashing crazy, can you tell me what is the right relay part for LED so I can fix that. Thank you. Gonzalo from Seattle.
Do you guys sell and have a part number for a directional relay for a 2001 Tahoe?... I'm having this problem after installing LED front signals yesterday
So for someone like me who had to be doing resistors to get the lights to light properly but I’m still having hyper flash. Could I still replace the relay?

I need this for my 2012 Tahoe. Where would I find it on y’all’s website ?
The link doesn’t work. I need this part
It does not appear we are currently carrying this item. We are always updating our inventory, so check back soon!
Do those hurt the wiring if you install led tail lights that are plug n play

This guy for sure filmed this at 4:55 on a Friday 😂😂 he went straight to business
THANK YOU! Every video said replace the broken bulb. But you my friend, has the answer!
Good stuff Len!!! Good look on the truck.
P.S. Hey Sue….maybe back Len away from the caffeine before vlogs!! WOW!!!
Another good way to fix hyper flashing lights is to remove some blinker fluid from the bulb.
Sounds bout right...
Thanks for posting this video. It drives me crazy when I see vehicles with fast flashing LED lights.
You guy's deserve more views.
Thanks for the help! I love the light setup and I’m planning on doing the same to my K1500. I was hoping you could leave part numbers for all the bulbs you used as well as the relay.

Just upgraded to Led and having this funny situation, thanks for the video!
Hyper flashing wouldn't be so bad if it wasnt for the noise it makes lol
As always ,you are my go to guy for troubleshooting, thanks for the video
Thank you! You are the go to guys for straight forward info.
I like the variable timing feature on the new flasher relay.
So get a relay? Got it. Thank you! I want to install switch-back led turn signals. Hopefully, this will work as you've shown.
What if you only replace one set of bulbs? Will the new relay work with leds in front and incandescent in rear? Or do I have to replace all of them?
Have to say cutting the wires is a very bad idea you are absolutely correct replace the relay
Thank goodness for A1 auto you gave my subscribe
Good fix. Worked on my 1999 sierra NBS.
This helped me a lot !!! Thank you !!!
You guys are Awesome 🎉
Nice job, MATE
Thanks for the tip. I'll be back, got a relay to buy.
Just stick a resistor between the bulb and the relay. You need to increase the load and reduce the voltage.
*reduce the voltage and lover the load. Thats that resistor would do. But yah it solves cause too big load cause relay to heat faster and blink faster.
Finally, i got it 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍
Succinct and to the point fabulous video, thanks.
Please, do one on adding a backup camera system.
ThankYou this will help me on my Ford f150 2001 I will buy a relay !
Great explanation. Thank you
Do you have a part number or where I can order one just like it?
My blinkers do not work at all or my flashers. I don't know what is wrong could useb some help or feedback

What relay is this, and where can I find it for my OBS GMC?
