avata fcc hack may not work if you have interference in the area you are trying to fly.
Currently this hack is working with the latest dji firmware update: 01.03.00.00

So, once the hack is implemented, are you supposed to choose the channel manually? If so, on what basis would we make that decision in the field - how would we know which channel is best?

Should be any channel in the 40hz.
Thank you very much for the test, unfortunately it doesn't seem to work for me, as I said it gives me access to multiple channels in the various bandwidths 40,20,10 Mhz but the power at least from the distance where I lose the signal in CE mode is the same as when I am in FCC.
Obviously the transmit power has to be measured on the vtx ( which is then basically a Dji air unit o3 ) of the Avata drone ( The googles act as a video receiver, they don't transmit ) when it is in flight because until it takes off it is in low power mode.

Good points you share.. .. Something must be interfering with your experience all in all... Maybe try reseting everything to factory default and then do the hack again.. Nice to know the channel made it all the way to Rome...
I have the same issue, channels unlock. However, the penetrative distance is equal to CE.
@@MTB_FPV not sure - for some folks this works and others will have similar experience. Maybe a hard reset and try again.. Are you near any towers or power lines?
@droneimagery-NY-NJ I'm in an open field away from any possible interferences. I can fly up 150m then go for around 400m before it drops however if I fly around 5m height and behind a tree that's 15 meters away it drops and orange warnings. I'll try a hard reset and see if that changes anything.

Speed is same like ec mod.
Is it working on 01.07 goggles v2 firmware?
Have not had a chance to try it....This test was done on 01.03.00, firmware. The version you mention has not been released where I am on the globe. Just checked to see if there was an update, so far 01.03.00, is the current version were we are. As soon as 01.07 is released will totally do another frequency and range test.
Its not working 4 me too, i cannot choose the channel and seem its stick to 10 bandwith

@@ranggo8 someone in the comments had luck when they formatted the SD card and then put the file onto the SD card… try that

does it work with iOS?
if you're using your phone and have it tethered to your goggles you can still see the screen /video feed without a problem
Does this cook your brain cells incognito?
You should have done a test flight. one with channel 3 and one with auto. That would be a real proof.
