FCC Hack works on the avata 2
    dji avata 2 fcc hack
fcc hack for the avata - seems to work really well with the FCC hack, you'll have more channels to choose from and this will extend the range.
If you want to revert things back to default simply re flash the firmware with
DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drones Series)
    www.dji.com/do...
Currently DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drones Series) is not working on
    The ‌‌‌‌macOS Ventura‌‌‌‌ 13.4
You'll need an older machine or a machine that has not been updated if you want to bring things back to the way they were before the hack..

You mean, the ham file (in the root of the googles 3 micro sd) alone could make the transition from CE to FCC on the Avata 2 ? After registering your device, did you update the firmwares (avata2,googles3,MC3) too ?

  • @federicoiz0vxl

I believe the file currently only unlocks channel access but does not increase power. I have done a lot of testing and I lose signal in the same place as when I was using CE Mode. Too bad I don't have an RF wattmeter...however, the range is the same in both FCC and CE.

The Avata system in this video was in FCC mode to begin with... since it is in the US. In CE mode in manual there is only one single 40 MHz channel, but you could see he had three 40 MHz channels even without the hack. All what he gained by the hack was the plus channels on 10 MHz and 20 MHz. But if you are in CE region e.g. in Europe, then you gain all the advantages (signal strength... etc.) by transitioning from CE to FCC. However, wether this ham file works for you or not depends on what firmware you have on your devices (controller, drone, googles). As far as i know, from a certain firmware update on (if you updated in dji fly app.), the ham file hack does not work anymore.

@@berkesattila5914 Thanks for sharing.. hard to say as of today 4/24/24 the hack is still working on my AVATA - for me it's Channel 3.
Without Channel 3 the AVATA can't do 50 mps per second.. Maybe 20 to 19 mps if am lucky.
Seems some folks are reaching out and saying thanks Some folks have also shared that it also works on the AVATA 2 -
Have not been able to confirm if it works on the AVATA 2, maybe it depends on the firmware they are using.
Maybe the folks that are getting it to work have not updated it yet.
Will test it out tonight when I get back.. Won't be able to test it out on the AVATA 2 until the UV filters come.
Usually don't fly the drones without UV filter so what it crashes the only thing that is ruined is the UV filter, especally since there aren't many replacement parts or additional accessories for the AVATA 2 yet..

Hey, big thanks for the guidance!
Just double-checking with you: once the FCC hack is in the bag, should I switch the 'Channel Mode' back to AUTO?
By the way, I pulled it off, but the weather's playing spoiler for a test flight. Drop me a line if you notice any changes, especially in range. Is it kicking it up a notch?
    Cheers!

    • @How-to-by-Lou
      @How-to-by-Lou  9 месяцев назад +2

Totally - for me it worked.. Normally in one particular spot I would get 19 - 20 MPS per second and with the hack it maintains visuals in the goggles at 50MPS and doesn't drop until I go way above the tree line 1000 feet away.. it also depends on where you are flying.. In 1 location channel 3 works really well and in another location channel 2 woks better.. In another location I had to put it into channel 1 because 2 and 3 would not work due to interference. It depends on location.. Hopefully the weather clears up Let us know how it work.. As for AUTO.. I tend to leave it on channel 3 unless am in an area where any of the channels don't work then I just put it into auto.

No need to remove the sd card from the goggles. - can leave it in or out.. I left mine in.. Doesn't effect the setup. However the DJI 03 air unit does have an SD card slot. flights are so short the internal storage might be enough. Plus when the unit is over heating and cooling down, you can use that time download the videos.

Make sure the drone is on. It's the only way to access the additional features in the menu. The config file is empty there is no data - it's simply an empty file labeled ham_cfg_support - you can make it using any word or text document by creating a new document, leaving it empty and just saving it as a ham_cfg_support and just dropping it into your the SD card of your goggles. If it doesn't work just do a factory rest of the goggles and just try again. Make sure the drone is on though.. Menu only appears if drone is one.. Hope this helps.. Let us know how it goes. Just checked it today.. Finally stopped raining. You can put it back into auto.. I put it back into auto then flew the same route twice. First with channel 3. Signal held strong all the way.. Same flight again in auto, when in auto there was some signal dropping and not holding so strong, so I turned back. Hope this helps.. Good question though.. Thought the drone would be stuck in FCC mode to never find its way back to auto again. Thankfully auto still works like an on off switch.. Hope this helps.. Running latest firmware...
