  • The DJI Avata is very crippled in the CE regions when it comes to range. Lets face it, its very poor. There are some solutions out there, and ill show you some of the results using them. Does it make the Avata perfect, well....
    Solutions tried:
    FCC App by Drone Tweaks
    www.drone-twea...
The txt file solution, can be found among other places here:
    b3yond.d3vl.com
Using the txt file is very easy and free, Drone Tweaks costs money, and is a bit more cumbersome to install.
Both do make a difference, although still, well, watch the video :)

The worst thing for 5.8Ghz waves is water, that means moisture is also bad, and trees have a lot of moisture/water in it, especially in your situation, because it seems it has rained recently. And also dont forget the moisture in the air itself. For a better signal you should look with dji googles 2 in the drone direction because in the googles itself are 2 directional patch antennas, forget the 2 omnis on the top, they are nearly useless because of the water and blood in your head.

this is unusual, I've seen other videos of this drone in CE mode going about 300 metres plus with no issues in dense forest

This DJI drone is totally useless in CE mode I fully agree. Doing real estate, I cannot go through two floors in CE mode without losing signal. For that crazy price, even a 200 euros drone will do better! The FCC is the only solution to make it usable, but not legal so, simply avoid that model since sooner or later DJI will block the hacks

Guess youre right in they will disable the hacks somehow. But problem is that the range is no way even near advertised for CE and that alone will make buyers disappointed.

If you want to avoid DJI blocking FCC hack just don't update your drone and rc firmware

It does seem to improve the range, but as in the video, i cant notice any difference between the 2, one is free, the other costs and takes some effort to install. I tried them both. Signal penetration is still hard to overcome, and i think that was way better in my older Mavics....

Hello.Me the same in CE mode dji fpv drone. What hack do you use.I use Beyond but is it something permanent??Because on Beyond you must hack every time you want to fly.

So is there no good fpv that can go the distance and be great to use? I dont mind the budget. Just point me to the right direction. Thanks

It has little to do with the drone itself, it's just a limitation in CE regions with less power in the signal. There are hacks to solve this although i feel that the Avata respond bad to them compared to the Mavics. Not sure why.

So, the .txt file only has to go into the goggles only? Not the drone as well? Thanks.

mines back with DJIb. after 1 week from new in Australia because of crap reception. Did the FCC hack, and still nothing compared to RUclips videos showing how far they can fly. can't get more than 100 metres without it cutting out. Bad, and so far DJI is arrogant, not helping, see what they come back with, they have my new drone and money. I'm pretty pissed off. My DJI FPV kills it with the same.goggles.

Not DJI to blame is it, its the governments that make the laws DJI have to abide by.

@Rapidlaser not true. DJI finally admitted theirnproduxt was faulty, replaced it and its all good now.
