For all the spec freaks out there, I meant to say 6 cylinder engine instead of V6 that was said here. Don’t worry you still get 6 cylinders...
its inline 6 as you said BUT.. there is a V8 525HP version.. good luck with the waiting list!
Thank you for showing the base
I haven't seen you this passionate about any car you've driven before. This two door is sweet and will be rare, but agreed, if you are going with this car gotta get the bigger engine. Otherwise base trims with off road options is totally cool.
Looking forward to your review of the V6 Ecoboost Broncos.
Love it
I noticed at 17:00 moving the seat manually looks about 300 times faster than by electric motors. Why do people pay extra for something that is 300 times slower.
Nice video!. I haven't driven the L6, but I can image it has better low end torque.
My two cents... I drive my P300 long wheelbase HSE for a month now. It is a solid vehicle and the engine is indeed smooth from idle to 5000rpm (I have other V6 and V8 in my garage. So, I think my judgement shouldn't be far from the professionals). Road noise is comparable to my LS460L. Quite impressive given that the Defender comes with off road tires. Overall, I give it a A.
In fact, if you are doing frequent city driving, the four cylinder version may probably last a little bit longer (in terms of durability) due to less heat generated inside the hood.
Great video! I have a 110 S P300, and I think it’s more than enough power for the vehicle. I had an LR4 with the V8 before the 110, and acceleration is almost the same as my old LR4. It’s also pretty similar performance to my Discovery 5. I almost got the I6 (it’s not a V6), but after driving the I4, I thought it was more than enough for what I needed. Fuel economy isn’t as good as the I6, because the I4 doesn’t have the mild hybrid system of the I6. But overall I’m really happy with my I4. My biggest problem with it is that it plays fake engine noise through the speakers.
you are right not a V6 - inline 6
Price wise and value wise I'm getting the 4. Glad to know you think the 4 is peppy. I drove one and thought it had plenty of power but their drive wasn't that long and I second guess myself. The 90 I want is 70 out the door, and I'm going to offer 67 out the door. These things are expensive and I hope it ends up reliable unlike my other 3 Land Rovers over the last 25 years. Thanks for the review.
MY 130 order is Black with White contrast Roof, can't wait!
Dose it quick shafting when crossing the ither cars ?
Lol at the start 😂
The 3L diesel would be the best option best economy, range and reliability.
This is one amazing looking car! Money and desire are there. But reliability!? Honestly, did the car break down during your test drive? Just want to get another objective and professional opinion. Thanks!
I'm a G class fan, but I love this car, especially the 90 model
So which part was most important?
I will get this.! this year!!!
Lol I been waiting on this review
Great car👍
Hmm. As a RRSport owner, Im beginning to think that a fully loaded Bronco Wildcat with Sasquatch kit is a much better value proposition than the minimum priced Defender.
Depends on buyer. If the buyer wants that luxury ride and feel and has the money, I get the defender. It has better ON road manners than the bronco, the bronco will have better off road capabilities. That being said it's still a capable vehicle just... on road is where it really shines. Different strokes for different folks I suppose
How do you activate brake hold?
deep press the brake pedal and a hold sign will pop up in the instrument panel
We love it! Thanks for stopping by!
Thank you!!
I would only buy a 4x4 with a diesel power plant. The diesels low down torque and fuel economy cancels out a lot the negatives associated with heavy 4x4. I can't understand why Land Rover isn't supplying diesels options in the U.S. .
I haeve 90 New defenfer so stunning arsom.the best off road ever ❤
It's inline-6, not V6.
Yes
Opening scene is exactly what happens when I'm not paying close attention and try to get in my car after my wife drives it! Same verbal response too! :-) I don't even go off road but I like the chunky, I-am-tough-I-can-take-it looks of the 90! Agree 100% to get the inline 6 (or even better the V8)! The only people who squeal "reliability" are the ones who can't afford it or are just trolls; ignore them. I'm the King of "unreliable" cars: I have 2011 Jaguar XJ SC and still waiting after 10 years and 90,000 miles for it to be unreliable. Oh, I also have 2017 Alfa Giulia Ti and four years and 40,000 miles still no "unreliability"?? What am I doing wrong?? :-)
Exactly Trevor! After owning LR I'm still waiting for my 180k miles discovery to break down like I was warned about when I got it with 30k... still no shop visits, I guess changing oil is a task many don't do with these cars?
Have all that just bought a defender and love it! Great suvs!
Very unique cool looking vehicle. But...No electric power seats at $46k starting price? That’s so hurting. I get there needs to be an entry level and upwards, but Luxury Brand not offering power seats is just bad. Love the safari windows in the back and the two tone roof / body colour. Air ride is pretty sweet also.
The higher trim gets full power seats
@@SamCarLegion It's a Luxury Brand for crying out loud. My Dad's 1996 Pontiac 6000 SE had electric seats. Come on base model or not, that's unacceptable.
Fair enough - but the recliner is powered
Plenty of off roaders out there that will NOT want power seats
You don’t want powered seats on the 90... it takes ages to slide back, easier just to do it by hand.
Hilarious at the start of the video drives by a 2021 ram 1500 TRX
No mentioning of the price in Canada as you promised in the beginning of the video ,,
Exactly! Ticked me off. People who buy Land Rovers don't need to ask price, cost of insurance, or repairs.
shorter wheelbase always effects the ride
Yep
When do we get em in the USA?
They should be in already - check your local dealership
@@SamCarLegion really ?? They must came out today lol ain’t seen no other RUclips make a review video lol WOw I am stalked i either want my Bronco 2 door or this 2 door in the blue with the white top just base no added options other than the digital gauge cluster and touch screen entertainment
Yo wait till em Ineos Grandiers Start running 🏃♀️ lol wow we gonna have so many fishers and hikers and campers lol I would take my first trip to Arizona when I get mines
@@pixelking_871 definitely drive them both! That defender actually has a pretty darn good tow rating and I love the on the road manners. Excited to drive a bronco to compare. I figure the defender will feel better on the road and it is capable off road but im curious how well the bronco will drive on road
In India this same car costs 1,34,000 usd
FYI there’s no V6, only an inline 6
Yes sir no V6 inline
Should be at the dealer for repair withing the week. Sadly when the CEO admits quality and reliability issues it should scare most people away. Hard vehicle to recommend when they are dangerously unreliable.
The defender overall has had a reliable launch. With 9/10 consumer reports on reliability and few having any issues its showing to be a more reliable vehicle than prior LR products. Thats why they acknowledged it and im glad they did. For the longest time landrover didn't acknowledge reliability issues. TFL had issues with theirs but also Doug Demuro drove his cross country 3 times. After having personally been around these enough recently I do feel these are reliable compared to other LR products and know one that has 30k miles on it with no issues besides some minor software bugs on early launch. In the shop within a week is a stretch. Give it 5 years then we will see how these actually hold up
@@Spoons81 no for sure, I love the look even being a Toyota guy. But man I hope they do get their act together.
The 6 cylinder is not a V6 it is a Inline 6 Cylinder.
Yes
When is the 90 V8 going to be available?
June July I think
@@SamCarLegion Thanks Sam! Hard to choose between the 90 V8 or F Pace SVR. Both are super sweet!
90 V8 for me lol
@@SamCarLegion I believe the 90 V8 should have better resale value too. Way more unique. My only concern is that the 90 is less practical than the F Pace. I don't like the 110. The 90 looks 100x better.
D90 V8 starting at 116800$ and D110 V8 at 119600$ without options. D110 is more practical.
Reliability, reliability, reliability 😎
Honestly... My 110 has been bullet proof. Really solid.
Most people aren't having any issues with the new defender besides TFL with theirs. Doug Demuro drove his cross country 3 times after buying it. Consumer reports about 8-9/10 on reliability
Stupid ass, stupid ass, stupid ass :-D
It's a straight six, not a vee six.
Nice, more that can break with Land rover
Stick with your Kia (used) since its all you can afford...
@@trevorsutherland5263 Junk car.
BRONCO 2 DOOR
Wait, what is the point of this vehicle? A 2 door suv?
It's cool :)
SUVs started as 2 doors. Ever heard of Jeep? Land Rover have been making 2 door “SUVs” since 1949. No need for 4 doors for me. Traded my Disco 5 for a Defender 90. It’s perfect for me.
Yeah, 2 door jeeps are dumb too. Why not ads a few doors for friends/gear/adventures? Most people don't off-road in any of these vehicles.
@@rdrider04 well it's a good thing the 110 exists for those who want the extra doors. They did add those doors for what you mentioned. But some want the 2 door. I think its actually really cool
@@BlackPenquinn Are there any quirks you're noticing after 3mos; do you find that you love it, or have any buyer's remorse? I'm trying to decide between trying my luck with the 4cyl. I test drove the i6 & loved it, but can't just opt spend ~$10K more just because I love the engine. Thanks in advance.
500 ml of milk
Loool
It’s hard to DEFEND the purchase / lease of the defender when they aren’t dependable
If you look at TFLs experience of their defender they went though three defenders.
I always lease
That is fake news , TFL exaggerated the problem to get views , for a start how have they gone th(r)ough 3 vehicles when they still have the third one , the truth is only ONE Defender had a fault , it never broke down , only a check engine light ( all manufacturers have engine issues ) , the 2nd vehicle was fine , it was an incompetent local dealer who damaged it while fitting a winch.
@@aidanwilson6035 sometimes RUclipsrs do that lol
@@aidanwilson6035 typically if a manufacturer has engine issues they generally recall them.
@@naveenthemachine TFL had the base 4 cylinder Ingenium engine which has been around for several years without any major issues , so there is no need to recall it , in their case the problem was due to a dodgy ecu which appears to be an isolated incident.
Your sound quality is awful. Really bad and vibrates a lot. You need to check that before uploading.
$50g's and no power seats? LOL nope.
Hey, you get rubber mats and cup holders! I'm all in. Can't wait for the expensive repairs.
Why do you need power seats? I set mine once and never move it.
BROKE
No damn you!
V6??????????????????????????????????????? jesus christ please do your research
It was a mistake done unintentionally-
So chill the f down. People make mistakes and RUclips isn’t like an article that you can go in and change sh**. I know it’s a 6 inline as it makes a fck difference still 6 cylinders jesus f christ
@@SamCarLegion well there are a truckload of you tubers some who actually look at important details, BMW never gave up straight sixers MERC have returned and LR launched a new engine including mild hybrid as someone who read car reviews for 45 yrs people can follow some like Harry' Metcalfe or lazy journos simple choice also you have pointed out they have a new 3.0 litre diesel probably the preferred choice in most markets.it has changed the market but people do expect simple details to be correct.
I don't care how flashy a vehicle is. As far as I'm concerned, if it isn't reliable, it is worthless. Are Land Rovers reliable??????? I'm certain all this fancy technology will fail and cost a FORTUNE to repair.
I’ve owned 6 so far and I have never had a serious warranty issue. My Defender 90 just landed.
Consumer reports a 9/10 on reliability and the defender has had the best launch in terms of reliability out of any other LR vehicle within the last 10 years. Doug demuro drove his cross country 3 times now with no issues. Many others aren't having any issues as well. Browse the forums and compare older LR threads within the community to that of the defender. Only issues they seem to have had were software related on early release. I know plenty with 30k+ that don't have issues. So they seem plenty reliable to me so far
Another dumfuk talking "reliability" about a car he's never owned.... Ignore.
