I love you guys! the best review ever! I work in TV (BBC mostly) and I'd rather watch an hour of you two than most TV shows. And Germany, what a nice place, I lived in Germany twice, once with HM Forces and once by choice!
I love the fact you look at all the bits I would too. I thought the comment about the designer adding a nice expensive piece of trim to hide the fact the load bay is not flat with the seats down was awesome. Finding all that electronics underneath where it will get covered in muck and water is worrying. A brilliant review.
Thank you for the nice video. The 110 is better for room and overlanding. But when i must choose between the new defender and the Disco 4, i go for 100% for the Disco 4.
The vents in the front bumper cause a stream of air to reduce spray getting on the side windows. Love landrovers and your videos. Landrover turning owner's into mechanics since 1948 and turning mechanics into alcoholics almost as long!!
My new favourite RUclips channel. I'm catching up on old videos, like a box set! This is a great review, like no other, by a German engineer, das gud!!
Very informative and funny review. One interesting observation is that when Christian is driving the 90 he appears to be the same height as Vera 🤣 lol, look forwards to next week's video. Regards Peter
This is no doubt the best RUclips review of the model 90 with good sense of humor. You just point so much important things for overlanders which not make this car well appearing. I have drove one here in Scotland as well his bigger brother and can say- it is a nice car nice looking outside and inside but it is just mall crawler not overland vehicle. But I need to be fair - what car today is a overland vehicle apart wrangler and Toyota Prado and maybe if you can get bronco.
Very entertaining review. Thoroughly enjoyed watching it. I think the spike on the wheel is to stop mud gathering whilst off road. I could be wrong though.
The under body review was superb, seeing the chewing gum wrapper part...yup...that really is weird. So much fun seeing Vera dig in and yourself with the witty narrative....This seems more like a show worth watching, rather than a LR "Discovery" channel....Much as I love these large Land Rovers......never will I own one......I'd need to move next door to keep it on the road no doubt.....Loving your content and style of delivery.
(quietly) "But you're so boring." I could not stop laughing. Love the channel! Don't ever apologize about wanting quality; these things are serious money.
Hello Christian and Vera, I’m new to your channel and have to say I really enjoy your content, I’m not a Toyota owner so I completely understand your humour, love it. I started watching because I’m considering buying a 2008 LR3 SE as you call them over there. So happy I came across your channel as I’ve learned so much I can go into my prospective purchase without looking like a Toyota fanboy. On another note that funny looking bracket on the wheel you were wondering about, I would propose that it is a mud rake to prevent large heavy clumps of mud from being carried up into the upper suspension. Anyway looking forward to seeing more of you guys, cheers from Down Under
This channel has changed my life. I don’t even own a Land Rover but I’m planning on trading in for a newer Americanized Discovery 4 in the next few months. You guy help me realize what all I’m actually in for without giving me even the first second thought.
Such a great review from a prospective vehicle owner's view. 19:25 I think the brackets on the underside inside the wheel is for mud and rocks to keep them from building up inside the wheel/rim area. That is very unusual and will most likely scrape the inside wheel weights off of the wheel/rim.
Thanks for this fantastic review. Your review of the underside of the car shows why these Defenders never will be trouble free. At the Landrover academy they should use a Toyota Landcruiser to learn their designers how to develop a good car.
Another great review. Anyone thinking of buying one of these needs to know as much as possible. Brilliant modern style let down by some cost cutting and carelessness. It needs to be under sealed before it leaves the showroom. The Grenadier from Ineos will be an interesting rival, it is more of a workhorse but it doesn’t have the style.
Fantastic video’s Christian & Vera keep them coming, I explained to my wife what your videos are about, so now when I drive my LR4 I tell her it’s LR Time, and call her Vera.
@@Vera_and_Christian I like the LR range of cars, especially the new Defender 90. But now I think it's gonna be a used Geländewagen. It's a tractor, but it's a good tractor. What you showed us, under the 90 was frightening.
Perfectly expressed, as an English guy I'd say exactly the same about this. You being German with attention to quality I was sat in my 17 year old Porsche Cayenne adding sticky felt to my trim that creaks... It really made me laugh with some of the things/truth you said. Best wishes again from the UK
Many thanks for giving it such an honest review , did u notice the rear door soft close feature , ref that spike is for mud clearance and indeed see the rear seats fold completely flat in the 110 , must admit really like them , think I also saw somewhere u can move the tow bar in and out using a switch inside the boot, all down to which options are chosen I assume , as always thanks for yet another great video 👍👍, ps still shocked that with options u can spend in excess of 100k
Great review guys , i think the 110 is better than the 90 . I am driving a 110 next Sunday ( 6th June) in a Land Rover off road experience , i'll try and video as much as i can and send you the footage..... Graeme
Again delighted with your presentation of the new defender. It looks great but i’m absolutely NOT keen on buying one,, although it has a lot more beefy parts than the LR3 , i’ll stick with the lean and mean. Thanks for the lovely video, a little less being smart Christian, so that Vera can have her say from time to time, or was it the editing? 😁 Can’t wait.........
As a 96' D1 owner I find this new defender a pretty well done balance of modern tech and off road capable - however I would not buy it as I keep my cars forever and this would become an electrical nightmare down the road - it certainly will be a big lease car and most will toss at the end of the factory warranty period - I really enjoy your channel and think you guys are doing a great job - Thanks Michael from the USA
Guten morgen Vera and Christian. What a fantastic honest review on the defender with some fantastic humour thrown in lol 😆 Maybe you two can visit the L/R factory and give them some brilliant advice on how to change things for the better 👍🏻 Love your videos guys. Keep safe and love too Vera 😘🤩 xx
On 19:22, it's an intelligent hook, to get the dirt from your wheel. Especially when you driving through mud with clay. Kind regards from a product designer.
Absolutely loved your review! I just find it unfortunate that you didn't get a 110 Defender on air suspension, to do a more direct comparison to the D3. Maybe next time? Cheers! Alex
Yes, that is true. But it was exciting no matter. I am sure that this car is going to be featured in depthly at the Abenteuer& Allrad come October. And I already got our tickets. 👍🙋♀️ Vera
Another fab video guys 👍🏻 I’d love to see you guys review a 110 Defender D300 🙏🏻 JLR Germany should lend you one for a long weekend away real world review 🇩🇪 In that spec it’s probably the natural replacement for the Discovery 4 / LR4 , rather than the Discovery 5 🧐 #StaySafe 🦠😷
Yes it actually feels like a Discovery 6 / LR 6. That evening, we had an old Defender 90 in our garage with a problem on the steering wheel. What a contrast it was. Unfortunately we did not film any of it. 😅👍🙋♀️ Vera
Another lovely and funny review… of course let’s find the positives with the new defender, for sure there will be lots of LR Time repair video potential with this new Landy
First time watcher, I love your unique style in reviewing this car, different from what I'm used to, I'm also a new land rover admirer, my wife has a discovery sport since March and I drove the defender 110 and I am now In love and I am doing all I can to get one for my next car, 90 is too awkward for me, 2 doors and small boot when back seats are up.
I think complaining about the lack of boot space in a 90, and comparing it to a discovery is a bit weird. If you want to lay down in the back, get a 110 :) I think the one you tested there was the absolute most basic model you can currently get. The air suspension makes the ride a lot better, and helps with towing too. I've had a new 110 for almost a year now and it's easily the best LR I've owned. Much better than the Disco 4 HSE I previously had, both on road and off road. Also the surround cameras remove any blind spots if you don't remember you're parked next to another car 🤣
Very entertaining. I’ve now seen many things not normally exposed. Thanks. Just a question; did the rear seat squab roll forward to allow the seat backs to drop lower? You think like I do in regard to new production vehicles: wait until all of the bugs are ironed out first! Thanks Vera for pointing out English as opposed to American speak. Cheers. 👍🏻🙏🏽😷🦘

“One of the ‘Three Amigos’ is already on!”
No need to apologize for your sense of humor. That was hilarious.
Christian: "I'm over here."
Vera: "Who cares?"
Vera carries such a punch fr her height. I have nt watched a car review with tears in y eyes. 😂😂
"Everything is an act of god in a defender"

Well thank you, we certainly appreciate your comment. 👍😃🙋♀️ Vera
Absolutely hilarious video. The faster you driver the brighter the check engine light gets. And the smuggling reference was so funny.
I love the fact you look at all the bits I would too. "Do you see it, next to the check engine light" That just cracked me up🤣
That made me laugh out loud, "you'll find it next to the check engine light" you know Land rovers so well.
Best new car review I have seen in my life, thanks.
Brilliant channel. Real people driving landys, you couldn’t ask for better 👍

👍 I would have never guesse that, I mean about the air stream and not the alcoholics 😅 🙋♀️ Vera
First class review !! Really enjoyed it thank you, always appreciate your videos. Your humour is brilliant and it makes the video more appealing.
Great honest review. Love the money light on the dashboard. Standard for all LR3 like mine. 😂
Loved this. Such a good review. Great double act.
I think the spikes on the wheels are to help clear any mud or debris that is stuck to the wheel.
I’m glad your staying with the d3 or 4 👍

Very nice review. Probably the first car review that I saw with a detailed view underneath a car. Loved the funny german couple. Well done.
Very entertaining review. Thoroughly enjoyed watching it. I think the spike on the wheel is to stop mud gathering whilst off road. I could be wrong though.
Hi, plus 1 , is indeed to help remove mud
But what will happen when having a stone in the mud??
2016 range rover also has the spikes, though not quite as close to the wheel rim

YOu see it there, next to the check engine light 😂. I’m still laughing. Brand new Land Rover and it has a check engine light.

😆 I can’t stop watching your videos!!!! Thanks for doing them!!
Best and most honest review I've seen on the new Defender, great humour.. I think I'll hang onto my 2015 Disco 4
2015 LR4 👍😳. Of course you keep it ! Christian
Thanks for your great videos and entertainment. Have you considering reviewing the merits of the Gellanderwagen compared to the discovery/defender?
G Class is way more expensive but sure a nice car. We would rather take a Grenadier before a Geländewagen. But we like the Defender 110 most.
Nice Review. You showed overall the whole Defender including the smuggling compartments. 😉
Thanks n God bless
