    The button for the lights in the boot is to test your trailer lights when you are towing so you can do it by yourself. I've had my Defender for just over three years now and it has been faultless, I've had Land Rovers for 40 years and this is probably the best one I've ever had which is why I've kept it so long. Mine gets used lots off road, have a look at some of my short videos.

    Go on a Land Rover Experience day in one of these. You will be amazed. Even if you never use it to it's full capability, it just shows what it can really do.
    IF you do buy one you will get a Free experience 4hours.
    My 110 Defender is my 9th Land Rover and the best by far.
    Even a year later I am blown away by every time I drive my car.
    Any new car these days have issue's Defenders are one of the better ones in the LR range and hold their value better than most cars
    The only downside I can find with mine, is how I would replace it with anything else.
    Mats look very good btw

    Hi Lucy. I run a 09 plate Disco 3 as my 'farm car' and it is great, 156k miles and towed a tractor on a trailer 5 hours last weekend. My 'other car' is a Defender 110, in fact I am on my second one. Both have been without issues and drive great, I had a new shape Range Rover on test for a few days and it was nice but not as good as the 110, it also blended in more where as the 110 stands out, especially as I have removed the rear spare ( so I can use car parks soooo much better ) and also had the calipers and roof painted bronze which contracts nice with the blue body - or so i think!

    Had a Defender 110 D250 HSE Dynamic. Was a really nice car but chopped it in for a Range Rover Sport D300 Autobiography. Whilst I did like the Defender, the front seat bases are very flat so you roll off them and RRS seats are so comfortable, D250 felt underpowered but very smooth, boot is too small for a car of that size and side opening tailgate with wheel on the back can be very inconvenient compared to power comfort access tailgate. RRS is also more economical. Get an RRS and get the plastic over mats. Not had any major issues with any of the 3 LR vehicles I’ve owned. I’ve had more issues with a Volvo, a VW and a BMW but one offs and haven’t stopped me owning more that 1 of those brands. All cars especially modern ones with electronics have problems from time to time.

    Defender has one very big minus. The backwoods.
    What is good for the same L322? Opens the rear door upwards. Lower the bottom and you have a "work table" in the rain, in the sun, ... There is. Where is the defender? For a machine that is more oriented towards "dirty work". This particular car would need it much, much more than that tire on the back, which also spends its entire life looking at the rear. Where is my desk?

    Discovery is a very similar car, same engines, same wading depth, same 4wd system etc.
    But the Disco has more space, better for passengers, more load space and better load capacity.
    People buy Defenders because of the pose value. Sensible buyers go for the Disco.
    The only real area where the Defender wins is the Disco no longer comes with low range as standard which is a crime. It's an option now. And low range can be useful for things like towing as well as off road.
    Disco has better fuel economy though and I wouldn't be able to fit our caravan awning in the Defender boot without dropping the seats.

    • @danielheathcote5625
      @danielheathcote5625 Месяц назад

      Except disco is absolutely butters. Also, fifth gen disco is nowhere near where Land Rover sales expectations were set - people who have bought previous generation discos are going defender because Land Rover got fifth gen disco so badly wrong.

    • @randyfrog1969
      @randyfrog1969 Месяц назад

      Sorry, I don't know what absolute butters means?? You're right, sales on the new disco have been well down for several years. But this isn't because it's a bad car, it's because everyone wanted the look of the new defender. And yes, the fifth gen does look so very different to the 3rd and 4th gen.
      I've had both 4th and now the 5th and although I prefer the more rugged looks of the former, I'd still choose the latter.
      Which have you had experience with @danielheathcote5625 ?

    I own a Grenadier - which I bought because it is the antidote for cars these days which are full of electronic controls - which WILL go wrong. I've had Disco 3s and 4s and reliability has been poor because of electronic faults. If you break down with a problem of this nature abroad, nobody can fix it. If the Defender (which in my view should be called a Discovery) was simpler and more analogue, I might be interested. I am a Landrover sort of person (I also have an orginal Defender) - but the new Defender worries me because in just a short time, I reckon this vehicle could be dogged by expensive electronic faults.

    Bought a 90 in brown and black love it not a common colour don’t feel like a gangster😂. There are quite a few 3-4 year olds coming on the market right now as the warranty is up and people are upgrading to newer models. So you can pick up a reasonable second had one with fairly low mileage. There are plenty of after market extras and I’m getting runners as it is cheaper than that of Landrover and help protect the seats edge when you get in to it. That x dynamic has a whole host of capabilities once you figure your way through the pivi pro system. So you can change what your centre counsel looks like with different dial combinations and features. 110 is a must for kids but also resale value seems to hold fairly well depending on your concept of value😊.

    Drove a 110 at At land rover Experience off road. Capable but felt detached from the experience. Had one warning light come on while wading told experience marshal and he said its a glitch that should clear itself (it didn't). Neighbours had a 90 2 litre and after reading about problems with engine they traded it for a larger engined one.

      Not made in Britain anymore so probably a little more reliable😂. All these cars with computers suffer glitches so not really worse than others and now4 years in they have ironed quite a few out.

    Just another piece of Jaguar Land Rover PR. Anybody with any sense knows that anything from JLR is badly built and inherently unreliable. Lovely for trips up and down the motorway if you can afford the fuel, but nothing else They are nothing more than Chelsea/Cheshire tractors that will spend 99% of their time on road. The other 1% of the time, they may pull a horse box to a Gymkhana, or try a bit of 'greenlaning' to show off to their friends what it can do. Sentiment of common sense.

    Client had one
    It stopped stone dead on M5. Had to be towed. Opening and closing the doors can drain the battery. They have just got rid of it coz it spent 2 weeks with a mystery fault at JLR garage. They are a very common site on the road. Go for a landcruiser?

    Land Rover has lost the plot IMHO. The very reason they endeavour to make it look more utilitarian with the features you point out, is that they far from utilitarian these days. The are a very nice vehicle as a SUV but far from an off-roading 4X4 which the Defender has alway been. In your thumbnail you reference the Range Rover which also has morphed into a soccer mums trophy piece disappointingly . If I was to own any JLR vehicle it would only be whilst new car warranty was still valid or as you suggest on a lease.

      @@carlhoward9527 I don't disagree with that statement at all but try fitting some brush bars, a winch and some decent sized tyres on it. All of which could be done easily on a classic RR that could then be hosed out.

      Land Rover hasn’t lost the plot at all!! They know exactly how to maximise profits from their target audience. Build very desirable looking cars with huge price tags knowing they’re not required to be serious off road vehicles which can be used in the bush for 20 years. Put in just enough computer tech to create the illusion. Reliability can be sacrificed as most buyers will feel their warranty will take care of it. In reality this has lead to their dealer network being overwhelmed with warranty repairs and utterly ridiculous wait times. But they’re still shifting new cars thanks to PCP/lease etc and the profits are still being made.

    I don't get it, why put down a brand/car that one does not understand nor can maintain? People buy these things but they buy the cheapest neglected car (Range Rover) and then complain and make money on videos when it goes wrong, if one can not afford to run it don't buy it simple logic, otherwise stay with BMW’s.
