  • Frigidaire Gallery Dishwasher Won't Fill - Troubleshoot and Fix!
    Story of my life, some stinking little sensor. But a very important sensor. I traced water flow through the whole system, and all was fine as I expected.
    Ultimately found it was the float in the tub that cuts off water if the tub is too full. The float itself was functioning fine, but the rod down through the bottom of the unit to the actual switch was not. That was due to me installing the foam noise barrier backwards.
    Yes, it was MY fault! But once again, I'm happy I worked through it to better understand the machine and how it all functions.

    5:20 Thank you thank you THANK YOU!!! I was convinced it was the water valve. I'm glad I watched the entire video and saw the first comment. Even though it looked fine, I bounced that valve up and down a couple times like you show in your video and now my dishwasher is running!! It's Christmas eve with guests coming in a few hours, so this was a life saver!

    Thanks for this! I had an inlet valve problem about one month ago and replaced the valve. I learned from your video that the float was the problem this time. Thanks for walking through the troubleshooting process in one go, now I know what to look for.

    Pretty amazing. I had a new install of a Frigidaire dishwasher that would not fill with water. I watched your video and pulled the foam padding as you describe and it started working. Put it back together, being careful to reposition the foam and its works great. You saved me a bunch more wasted time, and possibly a service call. Thanks!! You helped one guy a lot.

Closed it and started it up and water starting running! Saved me TIME & MONEY! Thank you!

    Talking about the dryer reminded me of working for an electronics repair business. I might be troubleshooting a fader on a mixing console or some piece of studio gear. The customer may have said what it was or was not doing. After checking it out, finding nothing, and putting back together; my boss would say, "Sometimes they just need a good taking apart." How very true that can be sometimes.

    THANK YOU THANK YOU. Your video was great. It helped my son and I get my dishwasher working again. It was the inlet valve sensor. I was able to call the local appliance store and they ordered the part. It arrived yesterday and my son installed it. And BAM!! it is working great now... thank you again so very much.

  • @damongupta4266
    @damongupta4266 2 месяца назад

    echo the others here - I was going to buy and replace my water inlet valve until I saw your video. Then I figured I should check the overflow switch. It seemed up, just like you mentioned, I pushed it a few times and presto - dishwasher working again. I did not have any foam there. I think in my case someone pulling out the lower rack (or putting it back) bumped the overflow float and that jammed the switch underneath.

      Well I appreciated that. I can't do it all. If it's an electrical gremlin like a loose connection I get thrown off. My electric dryer did that recently. Stopped heating. I went through and tested everything I could, and it all worked. Put it back together and it was working again. I didn't consciously fix anything. I was so aggravated. Two weeks later it just randomly quit again. Had to call in the big guns. Their computer said it was a loose connection on the motor. Been working for a week now, so we shall see....

      If it’s a new garbage disposal, or a newly installed DW, there is a plastic plug inside the disposal where the dishwasher ties in. It’s there from the factory in case you don’t have a DW hooked up.

    Anybody have a frigidaire gallery that works? Mine wont dissolve dw packs. Repair man said to run my kitchen faucet on hot and just throw the pack in? WTF I had maytag and whirlpool and never had to run water to get the dishwasher to operate properly let alone no use the door. DW came with the house BRAND NEW!!! Rehabbers bought everything this brand. GUESS this hunk of junk is being sold on craigslist and getting a better one. Just disappointed that I have to deal with this silly stupid issue.

    • @TomBrueggen
      @TomBrueggen  4 года назад +1

      I’ve not been impressed, given what we paid. My wife insisted they were top notch so we got all new when we built our new home. Ice maker made it maybe a year. Our DW has been ok. This no-fill issue was my own, I reversed the foam padding when I was doing some work other work.

  • @kevindecker9444
    @kevindecker9444 Год назад

    That did not fix the issue unless the foam was pushing up on the float. This guy first mentioned the plastic lever being stuck would mean the float would never work.

    • @TomBrueggen
      @TomBrueggen  Год назад

      The foam was pushing up on the lever, making the float stay up, thinking the machine was full of water when it wasn't.
