I checked mine and it was perfectly clean. I cleaned the ribbon cable and contacts anyway with an alcohol pad and reassembled, and it worked. Thanks!

This really worked for me. After 3 months of not working the start button, I came and watch this video. As I was about to start open ing the Machíne I pressed the start button and voila !! It worked!! A guess the Machíne was affraid of going to surgery.

Taking mine apart now! 2 weeks after the measly 12 month warranty ends of course. So, they wont help...HORRIBLE DESIGN
Thanks! Mine was exactly this case, and fixed. Back to normal life, thanks to your help. For cleaning the ribbon cable, I used "Mass airflow sensor cleaner", which removed all goo and cleaned it perfectly without damaging the cable and the connection area just by spraying it, instead of using the eraser.

Thanks! Just fixed ours using what I learned here. Different model, same manufacturer. Cleaning connections and tightening them fixed the problem!

Hey is it possible to get shocked even if i have the circuit breaker off amd machine is unplugged? Beacuse it says that some parts on machine can possibly shock

Just need to replace the control panel.
Had same start button issue with mine. Thankfully turning off power to inspect it reset the panel. When turned power back on that pesky start button was working again.

Please try to keep the camera a little more steady. I’m a first time “fixer” and trying to follow everything your doing is hard to do with the camera bouncing all over the place and/or out of frame. I’m going to try to fix my dishwasher now and I hope it makes sense.

All lights are on even the start button..when pressed the start button blinks then turns off all the lights. What now?

The touch pad works but when I close the door the lights keep turning off and cancels out the start of the dishwasher. Any suggestions?
So , you set the wash cycle, push start but when you close the door it shuts off?
Is it brand new?
Mine is brand new one and I don't know why it stopped after couple times of working.
Maybe a clogged drain.

@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel don't know. But I checked the brain with the diameter, it still works. Don't know what problem with the control panel. So I changed the door of old one which was broken and it works just fine. The old one somehow didn't have water come through.

We tried the ribbon thing but it's not that same ribbon. All my lights go on and it still won't start . We changed the lock still nothing. Am I just out of luck its only 2 years old .Help lol

Today's appliances are Chinese made junk that breaks down rapidly, usually the first year. My American made GE appliances are 26 years old and working great. Never needed a repair...washer, drier, dishwasher, oven, microwave, and hot water heater... Draw your own conclusions...
The older GE appliances were great. The recent ones not so much👍
GE sold the appliance business to a Chinese company (Haier) in 2016. Hauer still uses the GE brand
