I can't thank you enough for your video's. I lost my Dad last year and he was our repairman for everything. It seemed like everything was falling apart after he passed, I'm single so I had no one to call. I realized I was on my own and then I found your video's and it was like my Dad was here. You walked me through it just like he would have and it was fixed just like that! Thank you thank you thank you!! You are the man!
My dad isn't very handy and neither was my mom. Now in college, I'm glad to have these "dad advice" videos where I can see exactly what I need to get the job done. Thank you! I really appreciate being told what tools I need. I'm glad i found your channel! Much love from College Station!
Age doesn't matter. I searched for quite a while and follow many (without success) until I found this one. I was clear and concise, and it worked. I am still marvelled that the internet can provide ALL solutions, sometimes you have to poke for a while. I watched the video completely first and then decided to go to all three solutions at the same time rather than have to reassemble and disassemble between attempts. Yup, hair too!
Thank you, I realize that your video is 4 years old but you should know it’s still helping people fix their lousy Frigidaire dishwashers. Very helpful 👍
Lousy lol you do know it's not lousy. It's your lack of dishwasher knowledge that causes issues right. A dishwash is not a dishwasher but as sanitizer. You cannot put greasy dishes in a dishwasher or dishes with food on them inside of a dishwasher or you always get this problem. You have to hand wash first and then put in the dishwasher.
Yup!! Last method worked for me, some sort of build up in that small pipe. So happy I came across this video and didn't have to pull the dishwasher out and take it all apart.
I worked all the three steps, through two afternoons, and finally hailed as you: "hallelujah!" I almost gave up because I didn't dig out too much solid waste in the tubes. But the magic happened as I finished the step 3. Really appreciated of your good nature and detailed instructions!
I forgot to say that I repeated step2 at least three times, which made me crazy and fatigued, before I made up my mind to unscrew the tubes that I was not confident.
Thank you so much. Me and mylady just recently moved and came to find all that mucky standing water. While the problem ended up being our disposal sending water down into the dishwasher. All your steps were very helpful!!
Hi Jonah! Thank you so much. I watched your video months ago when our dishwasher broke. I wanted to try everything before replacing it but had to replace it anyway due to motor. I learned all about keeping these areas clean by your video... so I just took apart our new dishwasher after a few months of use and there was debris in all those areas. No idea how this happens since I rinse before putting the dishes and items in. Thank you for this video. I feel so good that I cleaned it myself! It will be routine now. God bless you and those you love! Peace, Lynne 🍃🧡🍃
@@jonahvlogsdiy4143 Hi JONAH! What a nice surprise to hear from you. I shared this video with one of my friends last night. She was so happy. It may seem simple to you but it's very important to those of us who have no knowledge on appliances. I am thankful. I am a teacher, a homeschooling Mom, I own a craft and jewelry business, I am a private tutor for children in academics, and I own a dance business. I teach all ages and all abilities to dance! I also have a food pantry and a ministry with my brother. We became a church last year after 6 years. I'm very busy... so learning things on RUclips helps me and my family. I enjoy learning! Thanks again for the free advice... I asked God to bless you and those you love. Peace, Lynne 🍃🧡🍃
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU, Jonah!!! You helped us fix our dishwasher! It was the drain tube that had a big clog in ours as well. I really appreciate your very clear instructions- you are my hero!!
Thank you very much. My plumber told me I would need a new pump.I decided to try all your steps and I did all of them to get my dishwasher to drain. I watched your video over & over again & you made it so easy for even a gal to understand. I thank you kindly for saving me a lot of money that would have been unnecessary . :)
Bro Thank you so much for posting this!!! Method 3 worked for me. No visible debris in the dishwasher but when I checked the tube under the sink there was a ton of built up dirt and a strange oil plug that prevented any water from passing. Followed the steps and worked like magic. Thanks again!!
I checked the drain hose where it connects to the sink drain (no disposal). It was full of gunk. I cleaned that out it's draining great! Thank you so much for your advice!!
Great video! We have the exact dishwasher model and the occasional exact issue. I can't wait until the morning to tackle this. I didn't realise how much of the dishwasher you can dismantle. Thanks again!
Thank you for this! I tried the first 2, there was quite a bit of debris (food, lint, hair) in there. How does hair and lint get in there?!? It helped but still not draining 100%. I think I may need to consult a professional for #3, because the hose is very hard to access physically. But I am so happy I now know how to do this! Feeling very empowered. Thank you Jonah.
Who else skimmed through the video thinking it was gon be a easy fix then started doing step by step got to the part he mentioned a screw driver & was like aww shit I should’ve hired someone lol
Good question. Sorry not sure about that. I hope some of our viewers may know how to do that, but your pump may not be working either. There's other RUclips videos about the pump.Sorry.
Ugggh. I’m on the last step. That valve connected to the garbage disposal(Badger Insinkerator) is sealed with plastic. It doesn’t come out and I feel like I shouldn’t have to drill it
where do I click for tutorial on why my dishwasher will not totally drain? I take it all apart go under the metal mesh screen and squeeze out about 1 1/2 quarts with small towel.
Thank you Jonah! That fixed my problem. I can hardly wait to tell my fiance when he comes home that I fixed the dishwasher. The look on his face is going to be priceless!
For me the 3rd attempt was what led me to figuring out my issue. Same as what was found here. I had a pistachio shell stuck in that drainage tube where it joined with the drain.

Mine was a piece of glass and a piece of plastic. I took off the top arm, then spun that little arm around from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and we removed it. Started running dishwasher again, and I could hear it draining out through garbage disposal.
Yes sir, I love this video. I am glad you showed us all 3 approaches whether they worked or not! I am a scientist and know we can solve most of problems only by "trial and error". I hope you've a gift or a reward after this good job!
You just saved me, my fiancée, and my future mother-in-law from buying a new dishwasher! Thank you for showing the whole process, including the failures! For us, it ended up being a clogged drain hose, but going through the other steps left us with a clean machine so I'm not complaining!
Thank you for sharing this..My Dad and I went through the entire video step by step and we also finally fixed the problem with the last step!! And we are SO not handy people so thank you, your video was PERFECT!!! Plus I like that the first couple steps forced me to clean the dishwasher which I never knew how to do before! Feeling accomplished, thank you!

This was a great video - very clear, and the debugging aspects were great. I went through all of your steps (I have the exact same model) but alas, it did not work......AT FIRST. I too thought that the drain at the sink side was clogged but it was not. I wanted to move the dishwasher out but the prior owners had attached it to the granite countertop underside with a very rigid epoxy, so I would have needed to chisel that away to get to the drain hose end near the pump.....before I did that project, I went back to your baking soda and vinegar suggestion. I did that process (baking soda+water, then vinegar, then boiling water no less than 10 times.....probably used 1.5 - 2 kg baking soda (4 small 500 g boxes) and 3-4 litres pickling vinegar....BUT after that.....it drained! So there *can* be blockages at other areas, and the vinegar+baking soda will work, but you may need to do it a number of times (like I said, for me it was at least 10 times). Thanks again for the informative and, more importantly, useful video! Showing the failures is as important as showing the success. Please do keep it up!
This is an awesome video! I am a 51 year old mom with a house full of non-dish scraping teenagers 😩 After 1 fail the baking soda/vinegar method did the trick!! Thanks so much for this ❤
Your video was the first one to pop up when I was looking for a problem solver for my dishwasher. I did the 3rd suggestion 1st and it completely worked! I have the same exact dishwasher but different year model so it looks exactly the same on the i side. Somehow a thick plastic straw from a cup had got clogged near the end of the drain line. Thanks for the vid. I was getting ready to claim my "broken" dishwasher to my homeowners insurance! You saved me money. Only cost me about 10 minutes of my day. So worth it. Thanks again for the very helpful video!
Thank you! In case any of you have a problem locating the “switch” underneath your home, I recommend grabbing a flash light. I had a knob that said “pull to close” on it. I pulled it and that shut off the water line. Hope this helps someone down the road
Look at the dishwasher drain hose under your sink and see if it is connected to the disposal. I bet it is. There's a knock-out plug in the side of the disposal, which if it is not removed will prevent the dishwasher from draining. Remove the drain hose taking care to catch the water in it with towels or a bucket. Using a finger or a screwdriver see if the port of the side of the disposal has bee removed. If it hasn't, then you'll have to remove it. Once that is done, re-attached your drain hose to the disposal.
Thank you! I fixed my problem using your first and second attempts. Luckily didn't have to move onto the pipe cleaning step. The fact that this video has 700k+ views means you are a great teacher and Frigidaire has some re-engineering to do.
Man thank you so much. My dishwasher had been out of action for almost a week. I’d watched dozens of these videos and did step 1 & 2 repeatedly. Even pulled the pump apart to clean that. I’d given up and called a professional. Your video popped up late night and I check the pipes - build up of sludge and now it’s working perfectly again! Thanks again!!

It could be. Now you know how to unclog it. Thanks for watching.
Great job! Thanks for the compliment.
Awesome! Glad I could help.
Yeah you did it now l have to tackle mine pray for me
Good luck. Hope it works out for you.
