In Spain, garbage disposals are not common, but in your case I would follow these steps:
New cycle: Sometimes the washing programs for household appliances stop due to a mechanical or electrical error in one phase, in the dishwasher the cycle begins with a new drain.
Filter: check objects that do not decompose in the filter, those that do tend to do so due to the high temperature of the water and detergents, but if you have doubts you can use a nylon electrician's guide and see if the tube circuit is free.
3: Only the drain pump remains or an electronic problem.
To clean and disinfect the machine you can use white vinegar, cheaper and more ecological and it is bactericidal, it also polishes metal and glass.
I thought you would end up in the downspouts of the building knocking down some partition or in the street, in the sewer 😆.
By the way, that British brand has only given me problems.

Mine is brand new. First use ever. So there is nothing that could clog up the drain. Plus it won’t turn off and keeps making a buzzing sound. No clue where the plug is or which fuse to turn off at the main box! Service number is closed until the morning and I keep getting and error code where the blue light is flashing quickly. Keep in mind that I JUST moved in this place and the dishwasher along with the garbage disposal is all brand new! It’s 10:30 pm and I can’t call the landlord so prayers that we don’t all burn up in a fire tonight from this damned low reviewed dishwasher. Sorry for the language but I’m at my wits end tonight😢

Without exaggeration this is the most helpful RUclips DIY vid I’ve seen. Followed each step to a T and we had the exact same problem! It was wooden chopstick pieces that had gotten snapped off and made their way to the motor. Thank you for taking the time to do this.

Thanks a million! I followed every step. Even checking all the pipes under the sink then realized my dishwasher has its own water source, but those pipes were NASTY and needed a good cleaning. In the end it was exactly the same problem. There was a Bobby pin (not plastic fork tine) caught in the pump. This has been a horrible week with things breaking so thank you for helping me fix this "on my own."

This video helped me so much. I was able to replace the drain pump, which had two pieces of glass in it. The glass had blocked the pump blades and burned up the motor. Without the video, I probably would've just spent $800-$1000 to replace the dishwasher. Also, I went thru your steps and cleaned my drain hose and garbage disposal, which were nasty and partially blocked at both. Thanks for the video and great job!

Question: In the first few troubleshooting steps you took looking for clogs in the disposal or sink drain, wouldn't you have been able to tell that wasn't the case if the dishwasher doesn't drain but the sink does? I'm asking because my sink drains but my dishwasher doesn't, so I think it must be a problem with the dishwasher train tube or the pump like in this video and I really don't want to have to take my whole unit out if I can avoid it

Thank you, this video helped me out so much. My water was not draining due to an incomplete installation of a new garbage disposal. The guy I hired to do the job did not punch through the drain line housing in the garbage disposal; thus; the water had no way to evacuate through the plumbing. Was able to in addition clean my drain line. Again thank you as you indirectly solved my problem when I saw all that gunk you pulled out of the disposal and I knew from my finger being in that same hole that there was a plastic seal there. I drilled through that and fixed the problem.

Thanks a million for our excellent advice! (Ironically, I have the same dishwasher.) One thing needs to be emphasized: These drain pumps are centrifugal type pumps that have the ability to pump lots of volume, but they have NO tolerance for back pressure. Any blockage, no matter how little, will slow or stop the flow. In my case the hose below the washer to the drain was plugged. (I have no disposal unit.) I used my suck or blow vacuum cleaner to clear the line and all was well again.

Happy to report that cleaning the primary and secondary filters resolved my water drainage issue. Thank you BeefMaster!

Great video! What’s funny is I have all the tools that you use at my disposal except a cup small enough to manually drain the water 😂

When I pressed the drain option I did NOT hear the motor run. Assumed it was a bad motor. When I opened up the motor nothing was found, but it was all gunked up with soap deposits. I spun the motor around a few times and then cleaned everything with vinegar, crossed my figures and put it all back together. Instantly heard the motor kick in when I hit the drain option. ALL GOOD! Definitely worth running a cleaning cycle monthly.

Great video, one pro tip is to leave the cover off the front of the dishwasher and check for leaks before installing the front lower cover.

Fantastic video! It is giving me some insight into what may be causing my dishwasher to back up. I am going try some of these things before calling a repairman. Thank you!

Thank you so much for posting this. Mine is doing the exact same thing with the water in the bottom. I’m going to attempt to fix it tomorrow. I’m a little confused about the under the sink part with that line that runs up to the outlet next to the Overflow by the kitchen sink. Mine doesn’t look like it would spray up any water if it overflowed. But I’m going to at least try what you did. I have a plumber coming soon to repair some toilets I have one of those Home Warranty‘s that I’m paying $65 to have two brand new toilet installed so that’s not bad maybe I can get him to also look at the dishwasher lol.

Your video saved me a couple hundred dollars 😊 I had the white plastic thingy found under the beer bottle caps stuck at the pump outlet. Probably the repairman would have asked me to change the whole damn pump. God bless bud

I truly enjoyed your video and thank you for trying to help those of us who are having this issue. I am forwarding this video to my husband to see if we missed something. He just changed the drainage pump and checked the hoses but I don’t think he took down the garbage disposal. The cycle isn’t signaling and there is water collecting even after changing the pump. I just hope he can figure this out we don’t want to rely on someone coming in and misleading us.Thank you again and God bless you!

THANK YOU. Noticed the dishwasher wasn’t draining last night before bed, now I feel that I can go tackle it on my own. Bought my house a couple months ago and this is the first semi-big thing I’ll be attempting to fix myself, thank you for this resource that I can add to my skill set 🙏🏻
