He handled himself well. He seems like a really down to earth guy
Yes indeed he did!!
You didn’t lose you just didn’t accomplish the main goal but the experience you gained was necessary and important. I am Noah Lyles fan but you are the truth young man please hold your head high.
The maturity is on another level
Not really you didn't see him not even wanting to shake hands with the other sprinters??? Not humble or mature at all....sore Loser
@@tonyh.9957You just making wild assumptions
If Kishane can stay injury free he will win world's next year. He's inexperienced but by far the most talented on that field. What an athlete.
I think Kishane will be THE star in the 100 over the next few years, but I’ve got to give it to Noah - he KNOWS how to win. Incredible final. I would’ve liked the winning time to be slightly faster given the semis (as in, I wanted Kishane to go in the low 9.7s lol), but as a collective, it was one of the fastest finals ever. Feel bad for Simbine, a new NR and yet 4th again. Jacobs surprised me a lot; I didn’t even predict him making it out of the semis, yet he ran 9.85, which is his 3rd fastest time ever (correct me if I’m wrong lmao). Tebogo with ANOTHER NR, he’ll be dangerous in the 200, and Kenny with a 9.88 nearly PB in *7th.* Seville crumbled as usual. You coyld say the same for Kishane, despite running 9.79 lol. I think he has a 9.6 in him at some point in his career, I don’t know how he can run 9.79 whilst looking that bad. Also, Kerley’s reaction time of *0.108*, as well as Jacobs’ reaction time of 0.114 were CRAZY! It almost looked like a false start, especially from Jacobs. Lyles and Kishane both had 0.7x reaction times, and if you’d given Noah the reaction time that Kerley had, he would’ve run EXACTLY 9.72 (same with Kishane)! Kerley having such a good reaction time and start was probably what costed Kishane the gold. He was too busy fighting to get ahead of Kerley and tightened up, letting Lyles, who stayed relaxed as Seville was never in front of him really, pipped him at the line. Kishane should’ve been in the lane to his right (next to Lyles) - I thought the fastest from the semis were meant to go in the centre? Anyway, there’s no way I’m betting against Noah in the 200, and in the future, someone would have to run a 9.6 for me to bet against Noah lol. Insane final, congrats of the medalists!
@@AthleticsEditz the final times were not quick because they all tightened up. I absolutely knew that was going to happen. In reality, going into that final, almost all of those runners has quicker PB's than Noah. But that long wait at the start, the gruelling semis... I knew Noah would win.
@@Adam-i4l4u What are you smoking, They all ran under 10secs. The fastest 100m in race in history.
The medal times were not that fast; we all expected low 9.7s given that the semi’s were executed in 9.8. That’s what I meant; cumutively this was the fastest 100m race as a whole but London 2012 had quicker medalling times.
@@Adam-i4l4u Mate, no one other than Kishane had a recent pb faster than Noah in this race. Kerley ran his 9.76 in 2022 and Omanyala ran his 9.77 back in 2021, at altitude. Everyone else’s was/is slower. Yes, they did a lot of them tighten up, especially Kishane and Seville, but that just goes to show how good form everyone was in. Kishane (and Noah) would’ve both run 9.72, if they’d had the same reaction time as Kerley in this race (Kerley’s was 0.108, Lyles’ and Kishane’s were 0.178 and 0.176). And Kishane was tense the whole race. He definitely has a low 9.7, or even a high 9.6 in him at some point in his career. Lyles was the only one really who DIDN’T tighten up, and that was ultimately what gave him gold. He knows how to perform when it matters most. Also, everyone else either an pb’s, nearly pb’s, or the fastest time they’ve ran in years (other than Seville). Everyone performed really well, and you can tell that by the fact that everyone went sub 9.8 apart from Seville, who would’ve also done so, had he not completely leant back and shut down at the end.
Kishane has nothing but respect from me. He did very well and it took a inch to edge him. He will be king next season mark my words. That boy is a 100m god
Yeah but Noah had a bad start and still walked everybody down to win 🥇
@@dappergents3743 Lyles is at his peak and Kishane Thompson is nowhere near his prime with a much more flawed technique that he can improve. He's going to be better than Lyles not long from now
@@riquetc0060100% i think kishane learn from this is his first championship proud of him he's going to win next year.
@dappergents3743 clearly Kishane had a ok or bad start too. Like he said he is inexperienced and not use to guys up on him like that. Justin Gatlin said this too about inexperienced guy's when other elite athletes are close to you and you are use to dominating. He only won by a photo inch. You might as well say they tied

9.79 in his first Olympics? People don’t understand how mindblowingly good that is. Bolt’s records have spoiled everyone today.
Well yh you expect rvery new generation to improve
@@jimbojimbo6873 Actually, no. Only 12yr olds expect continuous unending improvement. That’s never been the case for anything in the history of the universe.
@@mensrea1251 ironic in making such a ridiculous ad hom statement as if it adds any gravity to your point but i’ll entertain anyway.
Any and every sport this is expected, the science improves, lessons are learnt on technique, talent sourcing is better, there is a general expectation to improve over time in anything and any discipline. To argue against that with a pathetic attempt at putting it down to someone’s age being 12 is laughable.

@@donnaanderson2846 Agreed! 🇺🇸❤🇯🇲 One love!
Nobody knew who won, not even the announcers. It is not the first time a race was close and won't be the last.
@@moltenpros , how many of the other “times”, did an athlete BOAST about winning?! That’s the issue for me! “Boasting”, should come with an OBVIOUS win, unless it’s said that the win might barely happen, or be a photo finish! That’s NOT the way Noah boasted in the weeks leading up to the race, OR how brazen he was AFTER he was told he’d won! The expression on his face in the moments after the race, tell the real story. He was totally humbled.
@@donnaanderson2846 there is no such thing as barely win in professional sports. You are either the winner or the loser. Noah is the winner. There are many instances of athletes boasting. Usain Bolt did it. Michael Jordan did it. Klay Thompson of the warriors claimed they were going to win when they were up 3-1 in the nba finals. Lebron and the cavs came back and beat them to win the championship. Many boxers boasted and then lost. MMA fighters boasted then lost. Phillies players boasted in the World Series and then lost. Football players did it and it has happened in all leagues of professional sports. Stop crying because your athlete lost and Noah won.
@@moltenpros 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣!
“My athlete”! I’M AN AMERICAN! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’m well aware of plenty athletes “boasting”. Noah’s is a little different, in that he publicly stated that “he knew what the Jamaican team was doing, because his Jamaican gf tells him”. He even thought Kishane won, and you can see him saying that. It appears, that Noah knew he BARELY won. I can celebrate his win, AND criticize his attitude. I can also celebrate the other excellent athletes who participated in this race! Even Oblique Seville, who came in dead last, was smoking out there!
Inexperience?. Dude, you just clocked 9.79 secs in a 100 meter sprint but I feel your humbleness 😊❤
His head actually crossed the line before Lyles chest. It's only because of the rule which states only the chest counts, if Thompson knew how to position his body on the last step, he would have won (already).
What a likable athlete! He came, did the work, and measured his words afterward. He still won even if they did not assign him the gold medal!

Experience won this race. K. Thompson learned a precious lesson here. He may never lose again for a long time. His future is bright. Congratulations to N. Lyles!
Right on point, that! Let the USA enjoy this while it lasts...may not happen again for a long time...
I think the biggest problem was that he was winning those races earlier this season very easily and nobody had pushed him in any of his races for the full 100 meters. So in this race when it happened he tightened up near the end instead of trusting himself and holding his form straight through the finish line... like Noah did. It was the mental & experience edge that got Noah the victory, and for Kishane that will come with time. This race was good experience for him. He will grow from this and I expect him to be a force for years to come.
@@rockhaven4435 The experience should help him tremendously. He is only 23 years old. Remember, Noah Lyles at age 23 four years ago did not medal in the 100m. He won the bronze medal in the 200m race. Look at Noah Lyles now. Experience is a GREAT teacher if you ALLOW it. Kishane the Hurricane sounds humble enough to know that he'll always have DAWGS inching on him in these big races. 6'3 Fred Kerley was on Kishane's NECK, and I bet he did not expect it at all. The final was the first time I saw Kishane run a TENSE race. He looked tight while running the last 30-40 meters while Noah was running FREE and opening up for the ultimate victory. You know what the difference was? Experience! If Kishane is a DAWG, then he will accept the challenges posed to him now and in the future & overcome them to become the best in the entire world.
Kishane did great in the 100m by winning Silver. He should not hang his head after placing a close second. It took the experience of 27-year-old Noah Lyles to defeat him. Accept the loss, adapt, improve, and SOAR.
@@Tunji-dp1tu LOL! Obviously Thompson handled taking that "L" better than you.

I agree. This kid just had his 23rd birthday a few weeks ago. He will get better and with experience he'll do better in high pressure races. Sometimes losing a big race has a profound effect on your mindset and helps prepare you to win similar races in the future. He will only get better after this experience. Kishane was physically better than Noah, but Noah had the mental edge and that's what made the difference. If he stays healthy he should be an early favorite to win gold in 2028.

You had a great race Kishane, when I watched it in real time I thought you won it. Very close. You are still a winner.

For a very young man (23) who just experienced a crushing close defeat at the highest level of competition, he conducted himself with class and maturity here. He's a phenomenal sprinter and is only going to get better. He could well be the future of sprinting for the next five years. He represented Jamaica brilliantly on the track and with dignity in the interview. Cut the kid some slack.
That said, Lyles did run him (and Kerley) down and outlean him at the wire. Inexperience may have cost him the winning lean. It took Bolt and Lyles time and experience to excel, too.
