I was able to take apart the vent module and clean the valve. It had a lot of calcium built up on it. I also cleaned the optical sensor as well. Put it back together and it's working great. Thanks for the video. It was extremely helpful.
I was surprised my 3-year old F Galaxy gave me the 'uO' code. I watched a couple of YT videos, took the module off, opened that housing, cleaned off all the gunk I could find with isopropyl and a Q-tip (including the diode). I also pulled out the spring and stretched it a bit. Put it back together and it fired right up. There was no way I was going to solder a new motherboard in! Thanks for the ideas!
I first tried to clean the vent, and stretch the tiny spring coil, but to no avail. Finally I bought a new vent on Amazon. The dishwasher runs like new. Thank you for your help.
Yay, thank you... I pulled mine out took the part off, cleaned it with vinegar put it back together and it worked. I have really hard water so I put vinegar in with the wash every other time too. So I may need to do it every time I suppose.
I also used the smaller vent assembly part like you did but the cap in the washer wouldn't screw on. And I got the cycle to want to go but once the door shut it tried to start and same uo code.
The nut is very difficult to get on. I had to push down hard on the top at the same time turn the nut a 1/4 turn. The uo code comes on because it’s sensing the vent open. It should be closed when starting. I would double check the wiring connection. It’s possible you got a bad part.
Count me as another that is up and running with just a cleaning, so thank you for the video. I was able to disassemble mine and, using vinegar and a toothbrush, clean all the parts with noticeable debris/buildup. I then carefully cleaned the optical sensor with rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab... Reassembled, cycled the power at the breaker, and voila... Zero dollars spent 👍🏼
Thanks for the video. I have the same code and I noticed that if I open the door completely and then close it the code self clears. But I just ordered a new part as I am concerned about it leading to other problems.
I have a (Model FGID2476SF1A) and wondering if you can help. The power is on, I can select a program and when I push the start button, nothing happens. (It used to say CLose Door) and now it just sits there. I can hear the door lock and unlock when I close it, but it won't turn on. Not sure if this is control board or start button? Any help / ideas?
Wish I could help. Unfortunately, I’m not that experienced with appliance repairs. I like to start with the simplest thing first. I would shut power off to the dishwasher leave it off for 5 min see if you get any change. If not I would look into the switch more. Sorry I couldn’t be more help.
I ordered from Frigidaire. If link doesn’t work google search Frigidaire parts. www.frigidaireapplianceparts.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI3PLtuK2q8gIVe2xvBB1QFgTgEAAYAyAAEgIT9vD_BwE
Thanks for uploading this! Going to try it tomorrow. My "U" is half the size tho. Lowercase u and lowercase o. So I wonder if it's the same error code.
I believe it would be the same but I am not 100% sure. You can try taping on it inside the dishwasher, sometimes this will work. Someone also commented that they took the vent apart and cleaned the photo eye and that worked for them. Good luck on your project.
@@handylandlord Thanks for the tip! I just ordered a new one haha :) It's cheaper on amazon than buying directly from the website (prime saves on shipping!)
Haha I was doing that for several weeks waiting on the part to come. Every time I got home my wife reminded me that I needed to start the dishwasher. Eventually it got really bad and took 4 or 5 tries to get it going.
I searched Frigidaire dishwasher codes on google. It came up with the common error code for dishwashers. Then went to Frigidaire and ordered the part. Sorry I’m not familiar with that code.

Awesome!!! Great job. For my situation I think the optical eye was bad. Not sure. Thanks for watching. Pinned to the top to help others.
Thank you that worked for me.
Thank you! We cleaned the vent and now it's working fine. Saved us $$$
Where is the vent module and valve ? I'd like to try that first
This tutorial was great. You made the inner lock ring seem way easier than it was for me. Thank you for the walkthrough!
Happy u got it!
Thank you so much. This video saved me from buying a new dishwasher. By the way, the part is 24.99 on Amazon versus 106 through Frigidaire.
No problem. Happy it helped. Thanks for Amazon tip!
I just repaired my dishwasher based on your great video. It took less than 30 minutes and I was able to do it on my own. Thank you!!!❤
Saved my marriage too! Cleaned it and it works perfectly. Thank you!

I am not able to fix the ventilation part good. The ring doesn't close correctly, and it just falls down, what can I do?
Any other fixes? I did this replaced the board and still getting the error after one wash.

I looked it up on google. Says problem with electronic control system. Shut off power to dishwasher leave off for five minutes. Hope that helped.
That is a lower case iCO without the dot.
@@handylandlord Thanks so much. I took a hint & did the same thing but good to know you had my 6.
This dishwasher has been nothing but problems. It's junk
