Hey i just got the new Asus ROG Rapture with 8 LAN ports... it says on the label that LAN ports 1 and 2 are for gaming... when i plug into port 1.. the wired ethernet internet works perfectly fine...
However, when i plug it into port 2 alone.. it cant get an IP address and the internet messes up....
The other non-gaming LAN ports work fine though. Is this normal?
can i use this router with a netgear nighthawk mesh x6s to use to add more coverage in a larger home with wifi downstairs and to reach the upstairs room?

Well i set up the router but i dont get an WAN connection, i use an telekom speedport as modem (it got a mode to use it as a modem only).

I've bought this router & I found it was very poor in coverage on the 5GHz band network. I went to service center to replace another unit. End up still no difference.
Do you need to plug one end of the Ethernet into the gaming router then your internet box or do you have plug on end of the Ethernet into the gaming router into your laptop/pc

Network Ports and System memory are different, but those could have been handled dynamically.

Just bought this router. I love the range it covers my 3500 sqft home. The problem I am having is I havent been able to connect my xbox one or my cameras that are wired.

I just recently purchased this router but I have a ? If I do a firmware update do I need to have it connected to a desktop or laptop with a ethernet port I dont have a desktop and my mac doesn't have a ethernet port it just connects thru wifi and I got the asus gt-ac5300

My GT-AXE11000 has similar antennae. Could you please provide optimal antennae orientation? Router is in the middle (between floor and ceiling) of 1st floor. House has a 2nd floor. Thank you and take care.

Please I need a video like my upload on this router is so inconsistent. Also I feel like the QOS setting is terrible I feel like it inferences with consistent network flow. I need a video on the beat settings for the QoS and Game Acceleration!
Dear Asus, i had just purchased the rog ax11000 but i set it up as an AP. And my old ac87u remains as my primary router.
Through the web interface on the ax11000, i dont see qos, gameboost & WTFast mode. Is this because im on AP mode? im on the latest available firmware for the router

u need another modem to plug it into. this is just an ac router. the video does not explain the part where you actually need another router to connect this to..
My new unit with updated firmware maxes out at 100Mbps for ports 1 and 2. Have a replacement unit coming.

i dont understand how routers like this are any better then the router i get directly from my internet provider.. i mean.. with this router all the traffic would still go through the router i got from my internet provider.. since it has wan port.. and dont have one of those round antenna modem ports.. can anyone clear this up for me?

I attempted to set this router up today and can not get it connected to my ISP.
I have a broadband connection with a wireless antenna, no modem at all. I keep getting an ISP DHCP error. All the docs I have read talk about DSL modems so I am wondering if this will even work. I called tech support and the East Indian was hard to understand and couldn't help me.
try assigning a static ip for the rog router in the modem DHCP settings and make it different than the ip of the modem. that should solve your problem.

trying to setup a connection to HP M452dn printer via USB
And I think I'm gonna wait a couple of months or so till the firmware is more stable.
They already have a new firmware and Is much more stable but it depends on what item you are connecting it to.. I would recommend a direct wiring preferably CAT 7 or CAT 8 to optimise the speed.

If you find QoS is affecting your experience negatively you want want to review your prioritization of specific experience otherwise you can disable it. It may be better for you to first use traffic analyzer and have a clear picture of how your bandwidth is being utilized specific to range of devices connected to the router. Go to 4:06 of this video. He explains that. You just click on the button "Quick Internet Setup" to start the setup over.
my brother I just got this router and it is all messed up internet cutting out everything on Wi-Fi just stops Hardline PS4, PC, Xbox and it boots us all offline it's not working like it should I think I am going to return it
