22:37 op is competely incorrect. Small claims court(which is where this would go if they all sue individually) doesn't require a lawyer, the court costs are under $100 without a lawyer. Sue her into the ground. Even if shes currently broke she could have any future wages garnished until the debt is paid

Not only that, but if they all filed at the same time, and informed the court of the relationship between the cases, they may decide to consolidate them into a single hearing in the interests of judicial economy. They may also make the SIL pay court costs.
But as they used the accommodations and they freely sent the money I don’t think she would get anything in small claims court as she has very little proof

When I was a bridesmaid, I flew halfway across the country TWICE. She lives in Illinois I live in Oregon. I went out for the bachelorette party about a month before the wedding and then of course the wedding. I bought my dress, paid for makeup and hair and a hotel room for the wedding night (stayed with my friend the rest of the stay) and still spent under $2k. This bride is a huge bridzilla and is expecting way too much out of her bridesmaids. Not to mention she has ELEVEN of them!! It's all for her social media front. So ridiculous.

My bridesmaids for my wedding each bought their own David’s Bridal dress that were less than $100, I asked them to wear any cheap flats that were comfy and matched their dress. I bought them their jewelry and everyone did their own hair and makeup. The bridesmaids dresses were their gift/contribution to the wedding, and I explicitly told them they should not give ANYTHING else to the wedding or feel like they need to surprise me with anything. This bridezilla’s demands are INSANE
I don't think that weddings turn people into monsters, but I do believe people who crave attention and like to control other people use weddings as a blank check to make everyone around them jump through hoops.
I did my wedding on about £6000 for everything. And I felt a little Bridezillaish when others would demand so much but then not help / listen when I needed to vent about the stress and I didn’t have bridesmaids because I didn’t want to have all the pre wedding cost and demand on others (my sisters and cousins all sorted themselves dresses that matched 🥰)

I paid for my bridesmaids dresses and accessories. They offered to pay for alterations and a 20 ticket to do string art for my bachelorette party. That's it. These brides are insane! 😅

I don't know if this was intentional or coincidental. But, you all did a very good pacing yourselves during the story with well-timed discussions/interruptions/breaks. I was pleasantly surprised that Sam, more than once, reined it in and insisted on getting back to the story, lol. Anyway, really enjoyed these stories and video.

When I was a bridesmaid last month, my financial commitments were:
$200 Dress
$65 Tailoring
$40 shoes
$40 earrings
$45 Bachelorette party
~$20 byo drinks for the Bachelorette party
~$30 makeup (our makeup was done by the MOH, so that was just the cost of makeup I didn't already have (concealer, setting spray, etc.))
The bride/her family covered hair costs and everything else, and she got us nice gift bags with shawls and a few other things, as well as reservations/dinner and tiny gift bags for the rehearsal dinner and a bunch of snacks for pre-wedding prep :)
I technically still owe her a wedding present because I was broke broke leading up to the wedding, but I'll probably leave a card with money at her house whenever I have the funds to spare.
I didn't pick out the dresses for my bridesmaid. I gave her a color I wanted, checked if she was alright with the color, then she got herself a dress that she later wore to another event. I was very happy about that! And there were two people I'd invited to be in the bridal party that I would have been fine with them wearing a suit. I wanted whoever stood with me to be comfortable, happy, and hopefully in something they would want to wear again.
I didn't get an ice sculpture, though. Or a boob job. Missed opportunities!

Bachelorette parties are not a thing where I come from. I did not have any bridesmaids. Nobody had to pay for anything. We paid for the wedding ourselves, paid for dinner for the family, invited guests to a party with drinks and snacks at our cost, no dress code, presents for the couple were optional. Most important is to celebrate your special day with the people you like and love. In short I am amazed when hearing these stories about bridezillas.
I am a bridesmaid to a lovely bride right now. I spent 80 bucks on my dress, going to probably wear my own heels and jewelry so no extra cost there, I’ll probably spend a couple hundred bucks for the bachelorette (dinner, dancing, spa, pole dancing event, we haven’t fully decided but it’s no huge weekend thing) and a gift for the wedding, I’m also going to get my hair and makeup done. It should be under 600 all told over the course of two years. The couple is worth the expense and I know they would be so considerate if I couldn’t afford it.
Breast implants aren't forever they only last 5 to 10 years then they should be either removed or replaced
Memory Gel implants don't need replacement, commonly known as gummy bears unless they become encapsulated. Had mine 9 years after double mastectomy.
I would make sure all wedding gifts are all for the groom only, nothing the bride would ever want. Her implants are her wedding gift.

I'm currently planning my wedding and have tried to make it as cheap as possible for my bridesmaids. I'm talking $100 or less on a dress, I'm letting them pick out their own shoes so whatever they want to spend on that (as long as it's in a certain color idc) and I am buying their jewelry as part of their gift. I also gave them the option if they want their hair or makeup done. The bachlorette party I am looking into getting an Air B&B close to where we live, which will be around $100 each. I've been in weddings. They are super expensive and I don't' want to do that to my girls.
I spent a little less than $1,000 on my entire wedding. We had it at my mother in law's home. She lives in the middle of the Daniel Boone national forest. It was the most magical day of my life. My husband went out and cut wood and built the structure we got married under. I wouldn't have had it any other way.
1st story - I JUST FUDGING REALISED THE MIL WAS IN ON IT!!!! In the last update the MIL was pissed at the bridal party and *SHE* was the one who filled in the BP on what the bride had been doing for 48hrs. One of my friends turned into a raging bridezilla, there were zero warning signs over the 5 years I knew her and no one from the bridal party still talks to her. I guess weddings can bring out the worst in some people but I will say the majority of my brides I've planned weddings for have been pretty lovely and chill.
If she is lying about money at that point. She'll be lying about it through out their marriage.

My dad paid 10k combined for my wedding and bridal shower. I bought the bridesmaid dresses and flowers on sale, i made all the bouquets,and my church hosted the wedding. Our biggest espenses were renting the groomsmens clothes and buying my dress. Plus all the food. Lol

My wedding cost less then 500. 80 bucks for my dress, 200 for my husband's suit. 110 for the cake. The church was free, the music was a gift and so were the flowers. Father in law's cousins Glinda, and Joel gave them as gifts.Glinda did the flowers. I never had a shower or any party. Hell my neighbor Mary wore one of her nicest dresses and my mom wore the same dress she wore to my oldest sister and baby sister's weddings.

Both times I've been a bridesmaid It has been a destination bachelorette and not only do we pay but we chip in to pay for the bride.... I'm in a very large friend group and although not everyone does destination parties- it is always paid for by the bridesmaids. Im taking into consideration my friends who have more financial constraints and doing a close destination (3 hr drive) and the house should be about 400$ each for the 4 days/3 night stay. Both times I've been a bridesmaid I have paid between $1000-1500 for the trip and although I'm not well off- it's important for me to be there for my friends and for them to have this once in a lifetime trip with the people who matter to them most. Everyone is different but its expensive to be in a wedding party and that's something to just be upfront with so everyone is on the same page. For my wedding I'm keeping costs as low as possible and making hair/make up optional ( they can do it themselves to save money) and the dress is of their choosing so everyone feels confident and in their price range.... Weddings have gotten crazy expensive- but underneath it all it really is about sharing your love with your friends and family.
The first story had a longer continuation: the bride didn't pay for a new set of melons bacause she was having an affair with the plastic surgeon. The plastic surgeons wife found out and planned to sew. Since the plastic surgeon is very well known OP was warned against publicly telling the next spicy updates that came up for fear of getting sued herself. I don't remember hearing where the money actually went but the bride allegedly said ""the money is gone and you are not getting it back.''

I had exams so I didn’t pay much attention to the wedding stuff. I agreed to every single thing. Also, my mom lied about the cost of the bridal party clothes and made them much cheaper so they thought the dresses cost about $50.

" So! I finally got permission from Josh to update on the situation today 4/10/2024.
Going to start by saying he's doing much better. He's moved out to a new place away from Dana and has some of his mates as roommates. He also cut contact with his uncle, as did most of his family. He's put a pause on dating for some time considering Dana was his first and only girlfriend for years. So he needs time to heal.
Dana has now become persona non grata with my friends. She even tried to move in with one of them, without telling her, by appearing at 10pm at night and saying 'you can't send me away this late at night!'. Didn't work. Dunno where she's living, but I can say for sure she's absolutely without any doubt very much screwed. She has 4 lawsuits. One from Josh for obvious reasons, one from his sister for the dresses she bought, one from the bridesmaid she accused of being pregnant and one from Josh's uncle since apparently Dana used his credit card (she apparently moved with him after the failed wedding).
So yeah, she threw away her life and she's very much without support. I saw Dana's parents some days ago and they haven't had any contact with her since the wedding. They are actually moving with their other daughter (22) to another state.
As for Josh's sister, we've been hanging out for a while. She actually become super tight with my friends and I. We're even planning a trip sometime next year with her and her 7 years old to Disney. And yes, we've all agree to divide the babysitting. We offered, she didn't press us to do so. "

My wedding was $6k in SE Europe because my husband is from there. Culturally, there is no concept of a bridal party so I got to skip all of that bullshit. Our families got to meet. Everyone had a good time. His mother even hand sewed a traditional outfit for me. It was beautiful. No drama. All good vibes.
My bitch of an aunt tries to compare my wedding to her daughter’s, which was an expensive destination resort wedding in the tropics that I didn’t go to because… waste of money for me. I only brought my nuclear family for my wedding, in part, because the logistics and cost would be unappetizing to pretty much anyone else (it’s a bilingual country so most locals don’t speak English, and there are definitely no resorts).
I’m kinda glad I’ve only been invited to be in a bridal party once because my sister a bridezilla (though mild compared to this). They had the audacity to have a $60k wedding and hold a fundraiser for it. My sister wanted a destination bachelorette party, which none of her friends could really afford. I didn’t go, in part because the activities weren’t my thing and I don’t really know her friends, but also because it was stupid expensive for a trip I didn’t want to be a part of. She had her gay friend in the bridal party and he had to buy a custom colored suit that he couldn’t really afford.
It’s just like… people start their married life off with all this debt and cause rifts with family and friends over what? A few hours of a party? In the old days weddings had a stronger purpose of actually bringing two families together. Now it’s an asinine competition of who can be the biggest princess and go into the most debt.
I’m really not here for it. I spent less on my rings, wedding, house downpayment, and replacing my 15 year old car than that stupid fucking wedding.
Also I just wanted to add that, at my wedding, my sister was mad that I got my hair and makeup done (as the bride…) she didn’t ask if she wanted that and it would have needed to be coordinated because of language barriers so my MIL and his cousins organized it. I usually do my own hair and makeup for events so I didn’t even think of it. I was also sick the first few days when we arrived in the country, so something like that was definitely not on my mind. She also got mad because she wore a SHEIN dress to my wedding and other women at the wedding looked incredibly glamorous. I’ve lowkey never seen someone wear a fast fashion dress to a wedding. Idk if she assumed a less rich country doesn’t go all out for weddings or something. Idk. But the irony of it all was baffling to me.
