For the first story, to the people saying op is at fault for letting Sam into her home... you're all damn idiots. Op seems like a good person, and so she's not at fault because of the adulterous actions of her husband and his ex.
Yeah the fault is entirely on them. It's not that hard not to cheat. It's a conscious choice to have an affair, which is what these fuckwads had.

On the story 1 bad takes, I just want to say, if OP HADN'T taken Sam in and offered her comfort in this terrible time, the commenters would have called OP a heartless, frigid bitch and would have praised hubbie for cheating out of grief. Now that she's been betrayed, they decide that she's in the wrong for having a heart and being kind to a grieving mother who is an important part of her life.
No nuance, no question, OP was in the right at all points, heck she's an angel who deserved better from the people around her. There is no forgiveness for the affair-havers - they don't have grief as an excuse, they just have rotten souls. She's a woman unfortunately, and so she can't get a break on reddit or in life, apparently.

Riley, I ignored my shoulder pain for months and months...turned out I had a complete rotator cuff tear. Had to get surgery to repair it. Complete recovery can take up to a year. Physical therapy is torture. GET IT CHECKED OUT! Good luck 👍

The house story, that is why you have a prenup that anything inherited can not be considered marital asset. Me and my husband have a prenup for this reason since I knew that I would be inheriting my grandfathers home. He had no problem signing it but we have great communication.

Food story: When I was living with my parents, I had different dietary requirements. I'd pick up groceries and cook, both lunch/breakfast/snack meals for myself and dinner for the family.
One day, I made roasted jalepeno peppers in olive oil. I liked using them to spice up my personal meals a bit, and the amount i made could last me for a few weeks. I wouldn't have minded sharing, again...
That night, my mom uses EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM without asking. This was a whole container. The meal was inedible, even for my very spice tolerant mom. And I had no jalepenos left.
Again, if she had asked, I'd have let her add a few in. But she just... dumped it all in.

As a married man, there are some fights that aren't a hill to die on. If you make a big deal about everything, you'll just be stressed out and unhappy. He took their food, likely out of carelessness and they've done the same to them. She's clearly annoyed but not angry. A little better communication and maybe labeling containers will solve this. Making it a big deal is just stupid.

My ex used to work at a land rover dealership and one thing I learned DO NOT buy imported cars used when they seem cheap. Especially not from a dealership (a person with a for sale sign type) it costs an arm and a leg to fix them especially if not under warranty. Yeah you might be getting a good deal (or so you think) but upkeep and repairs cost so much

I had a teacher in high school say to never get a Kia because they will fall apart as soon as you pull into the driveway LOL. I have a 2014 Honda Civic and it is never given me a single problem. Hondas are known to last forever and have a high resale value. I traded in a death trap for it and it is one of the best decisions I have made, a true investment.

For the first story, I think the idea is that they could have been there for Sam without moving her into their home. They could have visited her, brought her meals, hung out and so on and invite her over on occasion but to actually invite them to come live in the same home? Heck, even give her some of the daughters belongings if she wants something of hers to hold on to while she grieves but move into the home ??? absolutely not. She lived away from them before this and they should have kept it that way. It was a foolish thing to do given human nature, OPs heart was in the right place for wanting to help, but unfortunately she was surrounded by snakes and didn't know it.

For story #1) I think the husband took advantage of his grieving ex wife to some extent. She was living with them, her daughter died, and she had no one else i.e. vulnerable. Then, he’s immediately done with her as soon as he’s caught by the wife… He may have misled her and played on her emotions. Just a theory.

My mom nearly lost tje family home and land (which has been intue family since the roman time) to her first husband. My dad, my moms second husband, was completely fine with her owning her home. He didnt eant it. He just wanted to be with my mom becaus ye loved her. He did pitch in for renovations.

Tbf I've always associated scented/flavored/colored lip products with makeup, but men can also wear makeup in a masculine way. So whatever. Men, wear that chapstick, chapped lips ain't cute, self care is a big W.
The only reason you get chapped lips when not using chapstick is that they lost their ability for self-care after using it so much. I never use it for the sole reason that I don't need it. The few times my lips get dry, wetting them with saliva works just fine.
I can see using it when being outside for hours in freezing temperatures, because wetting them isn't an option then. However, hot climate doesn't really warrant it. I didn't ever need it even when traveling in northern Africa ...
Kias are absolutely terrible and unreliable, to this day, of all the manufacturers i worked for, hyundai/kia is the only 1 that has had an entire car bay dedicated to storing replacement engines, another bay strictly for engine cores waiting to go back to the manufacturer, and a total of 15 engine hoists. For reference, every other shop had 1 hoist, and it was almost never used
