      Maybe he was lowkey flirting, I don't know for sure how accurate Sam's impression of how Brian asked and perhaps Brian also felt entitled to have the woman in the kitchen make him a special meal. He was shocked at her audacity to tell him, a man, no and how to buy his own Ramen, rather than do what she was asked like a good, obedient pet female since he's so misogynistic.

    Story 1: Apart from relationship stuff, that study routine is worse than harsh...it is unhealthy and counterproductive. No one can learn anything in those circumstances. You need time to decompress.
    Imagine if someone tried to get ready for The Big Game by exercising in a routine like that. It would desrroy their body. Studying/cramming like that would destroy your brain/mind in a similar way.

    • @emilyjohn2034

      You should try it some day. It actually works. I did that to complete my thesis. Yes, it's not healthy. But it produces results.
      And honestly: that guy dodged a bullet. That girl wasn't worth it. She was immature, unable to communicate like an adult and not available when he needed her. His roommate was a better friend than her. That's all he needs to know. He'll find a better partner ...

My baby shower is also mid June and I’ll be exactly 32 weeks. My mom and MIL have planned my shower together and taken care of everything to the point it’s going to be so smooth and easy on me. I feel extra blessed especially since it wasn’t always sunshine and rainbows with my in laws when we first got together but it’s come suuuuch a long way and is fabulous now.

I also would like to know if they were in her bed together back when they had their movie nights. If they did routinely sleep in the same bed before, it'd make sense Celine doesn't believe them. That looks bad. I've had roommates, but have never slept in their beds or vice versa. The whole situation is messy and no one is really the ah, but he's never gonna salvage the relationship.

And OP didn’t even reply: “just go on like this and there will NEVER be a wedding”, or “just keep on being that disrespectful and, for sure, you WILL not be alive for your son’s wedding because you might not survive this dinner!” BTW people my age no longer have time to waste sparing rude people’s feelings so I am currently trying to teach my teenage daughter to save time and start doing it now… unlike OP’s mother 😆

      People who are manic will feel like they are on top of the world and making perfect sense, but in reality, they are all over the place and accomplishing basically nothing. It's also often accompanied by delusions, like Sam mentioned with the delusions of grandeur (thinking that they are someone very important, really smart, successful, famous, or rich). I saw one patient who was speaking with a British accent while manic. She was born and raised in California.

    I had 2 baby showers my mom had one for us and then my MIL had one also for us I thought it was Great. More stuff more cake and food and having it like that gave me less stress and anxiety bc when families from both sides get together like that a lot of drama could happen and I like to be drama free bc I don’t like it when feelings get hurt and trust me things happen. That was for my 1 st born son.
    Now we had another child and my mom don’t believe that I should have one for the second child I didn’t understand why bc this 2nd baby was a girl not a boy like the first so MIL had one for me bc she didn’t understand that either and my aunts and cousins they r from my dads side and my parents were divorced and they lived in KY and IN that came to my 1st that my mom gave me for my son they expected another one too but since mom didn’t host one they ended up giving me a surprise 2nd Baby Shower so I had 2 for my daughter as well. I loved all of that it made me feel like I mattered and I was so appreciative for all that love. I had to travel to them but I was ok with that we needed a vacation anyway even if it was just for the weekend. My husband had to go back to work when we returned back home. It was fun. I loved being pregnant the thought of me growing another human inside of me is such a blessing and overwhelming un describable feelings I have no words it’s just something that leaves me speechless. It’s amazing how a female body works. So now my first born is 13 years old and 6’1 and entering in high school after summer and my baby girl will be in 6th grade I truly tried not to blink my eyes but it’s impossible when u sneeze. Just had to get that out. Today was their last day of school and their dad isn’t here to share this with so Thank u for letting me share❤

    Didn’t really like the ‘his reaction was a bit bipolar’- that isn’t what bipolar is aha and people typically don’t just go up and down moment by moment. Manic/depressive episodes can actually be really long, like weeks or months at a time between switching between

    • @Karamarika
      @Karamarika Месяц назад

      Bipolar doesn't necessarily refer to the mental illness. Something can be bipolar when it's presenting in two opposite ways - like when someone is really happy, then cries the next moment. When people use that word, they are not saying that a person has bipolar disorder. Just like how people use OCD to refer to someone being anal about something or when someone keeps checking on or worrying about something, not necessarily someone exhibiting truly disordered behavior. I don't think it should be taken so literally.

    • @OliverCuthbert
      @OliverCuthbert Месяц назад +1

      @@OliverCuthbert my son has Tourette's. I don't get all upset and offended when someone uses the term to refer to someone blurting things out and neither does he. I think people shouldn't be so sensitive and should be more secure in themselves.

    • @emilyjohn2034
      @emilyjohn2034 Месяц назад

      @@Karamarika I’m glad you guys are fine with but not everyone is. I also have Tourette’s and everyone assuming it just means blurting out curse words makes it extremely hard for me when people try to pretend that’s what everyone’s will look like. And I get taken less seriously because people assume I just mean it in a silly way. Same with other mental illnesses they get taken less seriously when people normalize it being something not serious. A good example of what happens if you let that run amuck is “retarded” which was a medical word to describe an actual illness and now people have turned into such a joke people can’t even talk about actual diagnosis anymore

    • @Karamarika
      @Karamarika Месяц назад

      @@emilyjohn2034 Tourette's is not a mental illness. It's neurological. I agree that it's annoying when people think it's all about yelling out profanity when that is actually very rare. You can blame the media for only focusing on the most extreme of cases.
      The word "retarded" does not refer to any one condition. It just means "slowed down." For example, a baby can experience growth retardation in the womb from the mother smoking cigarettes. Mental retardation just means that a person's mental faculties are reduced compared to the average population. It's a very generic term that can be used to describe many things, not just medical conditions.
      It doesn't make sense to get upset about words like this. If you change the word to something else, eventually that word will hold the same stigma as the last one did. "Special needs" holds the same stigma as "retarded" did now because they both mean the same thing. Once you adopt a new word, it's only a matter of time before it has the same negative association. You will be fighting a losing battle and constantly forcing language to change. I think we need to just accept that some things are not going to be viewed positively. No one is going to think it's good to have intellectual challenges. Why would they? So of course it will be viewed negatively. You can't stop that. No one wants to have Tourette's or OCD, so of course it will have some stigma attached to it. You have to learn to accept yourself and the challenges you have been presented with in life. Don't let other people make you feel bad about some aspect of yourself that is beyond your control. When people use one of these words toward someone else, why get upset? It's not directed at you.

    Imagine saying the blame is on you for caring about your future a relationship can be put on hold if we're talking about somebody's future

      It sounds like she had inseccurity/trauma to work through from the ex who cheated on her. Anyone who's in college or with a college student should understand they aren't available during finals. He was so exhausted he spent his time with gf asleep and puked his ass off!
      She knew he was sick but it feels like she only came to check if he was cheating. She even knew his bed was messed up and he was too sick to clean it. I'd be concerned for him if I found him in the wrong bedroom unable to follow her out to explain. She wasn't ready for a new relationship and he deserved better. His sickness came from overworking himself and she did fuckall to support him.

      @@cats1970 ya if my partner was doing that poorly I would be worried about his health not trying to make the whole situation about me. And if she can’t handle a few weeks low contact with a set end date she is clearly way too codependent. I started my current relationship long distance and it could get rough some times with making time for each other, if your relationship can’t handle even the stress of being busy? It isn’t going to work

      @@emilyjohn2034 For sure! They're both lucky he pulled through. He could've just as easily choked on his vomit and died because she wasn't ever gonna call an ambulance. She stormed out to host a pity party as if she's 14.
      He said he's been about her for years and it makes me wonder if she only dated him because "his life will revolve around me because he finally gets to be with me." So unhealthy.

      @@cats1970 unless abuse is involved I also personally believe it is a really crappy move to just leave without a conversation. Ending a multiple year relationship without even talking to him?? That’s insane to me, even if your sure your breaking up at least talk about it, if not for his sake then at least to have full closure later on for yourself. Unless you are actually scared of them there is no reason to not at the very least have a phone call.

    Story 2 : culturally we wouldn’t dream of having guests over then making a separate meal for ourselves and not offering some to the guest. When a guest openly asked for some of the meal it’s very strange that some people are so comfortable not offering to make one for him! Just so baffling to me! I’m from a food is a way to show love and affection and respect to our guest. Wouldn’t ever think to do something like this! Sounds quite selfish and rather inconsiderate! It’s like making yourself a tea but not offering one to a guest!

      Bad take, bruh. He wasnt OPs guest. Plus, he had his food. So... No. He should have been set.
      If he didn't have food, id offer, but if he acted entitled then he can starve. Don't feed rude people.

      I would agree if there was no other food available to the guest. It would be rude to just eat in front of someone and not offer them anything. But making her own meal for herself when she is not even part of the group activity is fine. He was rude for asking. If they had a really close relationship, then this interaction would have been better received. But he isn't good friends with her. I can't imagine asking someone I barely know to cook me food because they are having some. That's super rude.

      1) they had their own food and 2) it wasn’t OPs guest it was the husbands guest if anyone needed to handle his food it would have been the husband

    Brian was an asshole for speaking his mind, but the wife was an asshole for not offering her guest food. I guarantee they're 2 different cultures, because most immigrant households would ever cook food they wouldn't offer their guests. OPs an asshole too

    With the exception of the youngest of my nephews (awesome man),I've had some horrible and with one guy very traumatic experiences with the Brians that I've come across.
