    Nearly 30 yo dude can’t commit to teenager for several years but gets mad because she lied to him out of shame? In all those visits home, never took her to the airport? This clown didn’t care about this girl - she was young and convenient. Then he brags about how smart young and convenient she is until everyone in his life tells him to lock it down or lose her…Dude isn’t hurt she lied, he’s embarrassed that he will have to walk back all of his bragging - which he had no claim to anyway!
    But sure, Sam. HE should instantly dump her. 😆

      I totally agree with your point! BUT I also have to admit that the EFFORT she put in her lies, was too much. Telling someone “yeah, I live there” when you don’t to someone who is not comitting to you anyway is one thing. To make up stories about time differences, flights and places takes some SERIOUS effort and is f-d up.
      In my opinion they are both red flags. That girl can do so much better than hang onto a non-commital loser and he clearly should not date somebody that has lied to him in such a major way.

    The thing I dont get in story 1 is, the girlfriend got into and was at the prestigious school for 3 years. She only left because of tuition cost and not for any academic reason like failing classes or whatever. So the whole idea that "he wouldnt feel proud of her school" makes no sense to me. Its such a dumb reason to lie 😐

  • @snaileriepimpson
    @snaileriepimpson 2 месяца назад +4

    That first story is why you don’t date a 19 year old when you’re nearly 30. It exposes vastly different levels of maturity that she thought lying was better than telling him the truth. Plus, I bet she was worried he would leave, bc he is so much older than her and he clearly made her school a point of pride and praise. So I repeat THIS IS WHY AGE GAP RELATIONSHIPS WITH COLLEGE STUDENTS ARE BAAAAAAD

    Story 1: op is is nta, his gf lied quite a lot which is a red flag . She should've been honest.
    Story 2 :glad op is leaving her as his wife did want she wanted despite a) being married and b) knowing op wouldn't be ok with it but doing it anyway.
    Story 3 : op should leave the fact she doesn't see how her actions can affect her and op in the future is a red flag. She could easily attract the attention of someone dangerous and put op in danger with her behavior of leading men on.
    Story 4: they should have communicated properly at the beginning, op is an a-hole and essentially sabotaged his own relationship really badly. The fact that not only they didn't get married in 12 years but they aren't even living together???? I'm surprised op's girlfriend never left him.

    The first story. I disagree. She couldn't tell him the truth because he showed he didn't really want to commit to her. People struggle to be vulnerable to those who withdraw from commitment. This is a tough one. The fact that she came clean when OP wasn't even suspicious means she was genuinely guilty and sorry about doing so. That would matter to me. If I found out on my own or she admitted to it under duress or suspicion then it's an instant breakup. But she came clean unprompted when in theory she could've kept the facade going, and that matters to me because it clearly shows genuine remorse, guilt and care for me. She didn't want to keep lying and hurting OP and that's absolutely a factor.

He doesn't care about her, he doesn't listened to her, he doesn't communicate. OP don't like his girlfriend, simply because he don't know her and don't want to know her. He likes how she treats him, and tha's all. He don't want to communicate with her. Maybe also he don't know how to really communicate to her, how to listen to her. And he just don't care. You always rag on age differences and having children young so much. When we met, I was 21 and my husband was 29. I had a month old daughter and he had a 4 year old daughter We were married 10 months later. Two years later we had a daughter together so I was a bio mom of 2 at 23 and a step mom of one. The takeaway here is that people want different kinds of relationship dynamics. Some people are trying to fit into the nuclear family box, and it's not for them. Ok so I have particular insight on the second story. Before I met my husband, my best friend and I got drunk and spicy time (I've always been Bi). It only happened once, there is zero awkwardness because we both knew it was just fun.
    Cut to over a decade later, she's still my best friend, she's married with kids, I'm happily married and there is zero sexual attraction or anything. It is possible that it means absolutely nothing and that there's no more connection in that way. She may just have felt comfortable with sharing a tent with that person. But your partner should always be respected, I told my husband about my past and have always made it clear to him that I would never cheat. (I do consider that cheating, some people don't consider two women together cheating 🤷🏻‍♀️)

    For the last story. I think he was a super idiot for never discussing marriage before buying the ring let alone proposing. I think she was possibly an idiot for not leaving. If she truly wanted to be married and all that when she was bringing it up and he never wanted to talk about it she should have told him she couldn't continue in a relationship with someone who may not want the same future as her. But she may also be generally happy with him as a boyfriend and figured out another way to happily live life.
    I'm turning 33 in July and several of my friends are starting to get divorced, maybe she also sees that and changed her mind about marriage.

My babies are grown and I don’t want to take care of anyone anymore but myself, I want to lay in bed watch what ever I want to on t.v or read in the middle of the night and not have to worry if I’m gonna wake the other half up. I understand that she is set in her way now it’s something women get used to as we grow older and become more comfortable being who we are at least this way she doesn’t have to worry about sharing her space and can still have the best of both worlds. I would either leave if I really wanted marriage, or examine my reasoning behind wanting a marriage, to see if it was actually an important priority. 12 years. I would have expected either, and by then, I probably would be enjoying the freedom in the relationship. They def should have talked, but it does seem like, at least in the first several years, she tried to.

    The last story I think both of them are idiots her because she brought it up and never brought it up again OP because dude you did not read the signs at all and I think it’s just like she gave up if that was me and after maybe the fifth year Mark if you’re not even thinking about proposal, we gotta go our separate ways or at least start talking about something a living arrangement something it just sounds like she talked about marriage that’s it so she was like well. He’s never going to commit and he was like it kind of just sounds like to me also that he never saw a future with her. He was just like I’m gonna propose now cause it’s been 12 years because here’s my opinion if you think she’s the one you would’ve been moved in together how are you living separate lives that’s not even that’s just this stupid on both ends. I feel like she should’ve broke up with him a long time ago and lived her life now she’s like oh I just want you as a Sperm donor/boyfriend and nothing else it’s just like he’s gonna be unhappy with it. One of them just both have the cave and I and will never know who but it kind of sounds like it probably will be OK and just say like yeah this ain’t worth it. You’ll cry you’ll get upset. You’ll get angry at each other but at least you can still find somebody it just kind of sound like she didn’t even look to see if there’s other prospects in wherever they’re from and it just feels like she just gave up and sunk into it. Kind of sounds like a depression because after 12 years, I’m not like not even revisiting the topic and not saying to him we haven’t moved in. It’s been 12 years like what’s going on where are we at? She kind of just was like this is my life and I’m gonna take it that’s what it kind of threw me off for a fucking loop like at the end of the day you stay with who you you vibe with at the same time you the girl you as a woman you should’ve just been left after he said like he didn’t say anything to you. It sounds like a really sad romcom like after 12 years. She’s in this messed up relationship and she finds nobody. I rather that this girl would’ve just broken up with him
