The song is based on a conversation between Myles and Mark about the existence of God.They both sing their parts of the conversation. The harmony represents some of their common beliefs even though disagreeing on the main topic. Beautifully thought out piece. This live version is executed at a higher level than the studio recording.
if you play it back, when Myles hits "the note", the look Mark gives him is a "Yeah!!! ya did it" look.
You're absolutely right about the crowd appreciation. I was there that night and we bloody loved it! The whole gig was pretty damn good - a band at the height of their powers backed by a full 52 piece orchestra in an acoustically superb venue. A gig that will live long in the memory.

I think Miles gave us a bit of a "floorgasm" moment there at the end.... esp with orchestra and 6/8 time signatures, reminded me of nightwish a little tiny bit.

Just here to say I'm pretty sure Myles is not a human being. He's adorable and the best singer I've ever heard. And yes, I do know Freddie, Bono, Eddie and Cornell... It's something technical but also emotional. ❤️

Yeah, Jinjer pices is a reaction channel staple.
Their other songs get deep into time and structure changes and are worth a listen.

They play it more often now. Saw them before Covid in Amsterdam and the played this song and is wow amazing!!!! My band, and fav singer.

@Banjoslave Yup, one of my favourites as well. Though the album version is all kinds of awesome in some of the same ways as the live version, but the product is on a different level on the studio recording.

I watch your AB and Tremonti reactions with my husband. I am one of those 'oinkies' that can't believe this song didn't top 9.0 for you. I'm totally jealous of anyone there that night. I know the band's whole families were there and the orchestra was just the icing on an already beautiful cake. Even for the support from Mark to Myles to just be like, dude, you just kicked BUTT on that note. I was saddened you didn't like it as much as me. :(

They're having a conversation about the existence of God. Myles doesn't believe at all, and Mark isn't sure but believes there's some divine power out there. Btw, I was one of the original requesters. No shout out for me though ☹️. That being said MORE ALTER BRIDGE PLEASE! Also check out Mark Tremmonti's solo stuff. "You waste your time" is one killer tune. That whole album rocks.

Hey man! Just watched a couple of your vids and really enjoyed them! I have a little band of my own with some buddies! We started like 4-5 months ago and we have a few songs on our channel! You should review our song Psychosomatic or our Floyd the Barber cover (Nirvana). Would love some feedback and criticism that could help us be better! We recorded our songs on a little software on my buddies computer with an Xbox mic! Still getting the hang of the whole recording stuff! Our band is called The Rocky Mountain Oysters (we’re from Colorado lol) cheers man :)

Great band I saw them live and met the lead singer backstage, who is a nice guy. You better can listen to a live track without the orchestra, they sounds much better. The second guitarplayer with the short hear is Tremonti, he did some great solo stuff.

I had the 8.2 AND the 8.7! I'm gettin' closer to where you're comin' from, Dave! I'm not sure I can sustain your level of enthusiasm, though...hahaha...I'd heard OF Alter Bridge, but hadn't heard their stuff. They're obviously an accomplished band! But, they didn't make me CARE, whether they played any more or not, so that 1.0-point "personal favorite/I'm in love" bump they DON'T get from me means an adjusted score of 7.7 from me.
Played it two nights in a row and killed it both nights....probably never again

Fwiw...he scooped the shit out of it on the recording(which is a great recording, no hate) but it is much easier than how he did it live which was just flat out punching it out.
